We loved our stay at this property. It came fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and cozy. The kids loved the giant telescope and going down to the water every morning to see what treasures they could find. My husband and I loved waking up to the peace and quiet and just sitting out on the big deck watching the lobster boats or occasional sail boat out in the water. We would definitely stay here again.

After a 12 hour drive, it was such a relief to arrive at this lovely property. The cabin included all of the necessary essentials and we woke up to the most fabulous waterfront view! The property is tucked into the woods and very peacefully secluded. We enjoyed about a 40 minute scenic drive to Bar Harbour, as well as Acadia National Park on a daily basis. We would definitely stay there again!!!

We enjoyed the beautiful and comfy waterfront cabin. The location is perfect for exploring Acadia! We saw bald eagles and ospreys fly right by the deck. We enjoyed the company of a chunky raccoon. Also, this is conveniently located close to a small market and Ruth & Wimpys for dinner.

Cabin is nicely situated near Schoodic Point and the rest of Acadia. About a 45-55 minute drive to Bar Harbor. The cabin gets you into the woods and away from the touristy areas. Love watching the tide come in and out. Susan was very responsive and has equipped the cabin with everything that you need. Lots of information has been complied about the area and it was extremely helpful to have that on hand. We were able to see a bald eagle fly past the panoramic window and land on a tree nearby. We were also able to see the woodpecker and deer. Alas no seals. However I definitely recommend the cabin. The only thing you might want to bring is goulashes so you can walk all the way across the cove at low tide at the site nearer the cabin.

What a perfect place to relax and enjoy this area! This home was immaculate and had everything you could need for a perfect Maine vacation. You could never leave the house and be content with the beautiful view from the deck. Everything Acadia has to offer is a short drive away. Susan was a caring host and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I enjoyed chating with her and learning the history of this beautiful Maine home.

Thank you Susan and Jim for sharing your family home with us. We loved the privacy and amazing nature view of the Frenchman's Bay Cove! The beds were very comfortable!

The cabin was a great pick for our trip, we enjoyed the view and made several trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Would definitely stay again! Host was very easy to reach and helpful.

We knew we picked the right place when we arrived and saw the big picture window looking I er the water. Communication with proper owner was quick and efficient. Though roomy, there are many interesting items around the spacious cabin. The porch was an added bonus that not only provided a stunning view of the water, but the night sky. Rooms spacious and well-organized. Would definitely rent again.

This is our favorite rental property in Maine and we return every year! The peaceful seclusion of the cove, the beautiful view from the living space and the deck, the access to good restaurants and day trips to Bar Harbor, the 1/4 mile drive from the house to the main road that makes you feel like you're living in a forest - we love it all! Susan is the perfect host and in the 6-7 years since we've been coming we've never had an issue. Beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, water pressure in the shower is good, and even in July/August it's never felt stuffy inside, thanks to the overhead fans - crank open the windows and enjoy the breeze and beauty of the cove!

The cottage was clean and welcoming. Plenty of the necessities. WiFi weak, but expected that in a rural location.

Spent a few days in a very special place surrounded by pristine nature. The cottage was welcoming and full of history. Owners, Jim and Susan, and the property manager, Ernie, were readily available and truly cared about our well-being. We made beautiful memories and hope to come back in the future!

This was an absolutely magical and peaceful retreat. We were surrounded by nature and serenity. There are birds everywhere and it is a joy to watch them soaring around the bay. There is so much history with this property and care and respect for the land really shines through. The house is impeccably clean and well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were able to sleep peacefully uninterrupted by noise and feel restored from our stay. I was genuinely sad to leave! If you are looking for a place to stay away from the hustle and bustle this is the place for you. Thank you for a magnificent visit to Maine!

We had a great time at this beautiful home away from home. Susan was amazing, we had run into an issue with the accommodations we had before our scheduled stay here and Susan made it possible for us to check into her beautiful family home a day early! What a Blessing that was. The home was very clean and comfortable. The views amazing! So quiet and relaxing just hanging out watching the eagles soar and the seals play was so cool! A real gem!

Location of property couldn't be more beautiful. Very secluded and quiet with gorgeous water view. We enjoyed watching the change of tides. House was very clean and kitchen well stocked. Had everything for a lobster dinner. Owner called to check in with us after we arrived. Thought that was very kind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location was ideal for our purposes. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. We appreciated the owner checking in with us the evening of our arrival. We would have liked a few additional instructions about where to find extra blankets and such. The maps and other information located in the map room were helpful. The inside of the house could use some updating, such as the bathrooms, and owner's personal effects from closets should be removed.
The wifi signal was weak, but probably it's because of the location.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house, especially the view and the quietness.

The location is serene with great views of the cove, kids loved exploring it in both high and low tides.
There were a ton of thoughtful touches provided in the cottage to make the stay interesting and comfortable.
The cherry on too was seeing the seals basking in evening sun using the scope provided.

A beautiful, simple, clean and comfortable house for our Maine vacation with tons of information at the house to aid in our journeys. Highlights of our trip included several days hiking at the Schoodic Peninsula (portion of Acadia NPS) including incredible views from the Schoodic Overlook (a short but steep hike); Schoodic Beach at Donnell Pond; ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor; dining at the Pickled Wrinkle & ice cream at Morton Moo in Ellsworth. Plus exploring around the house and property, with the great views, huge tide changes and incredible sunsets is a great way to spend a day!

Owners keep this property very well maintained and easy access down to the tidal estuary perfect for a mid to high-tide swim. The cottage is down a dirt road off Rt 1, but you cannot even hear the road! It's not not too far from Acadia nor Schoonic Peninsula for some great biking. A blue grass concert at Tidal Falls (Frenchman's Bay) on Monday eve was perfect, and we loved just sitting out on the deck every night savoring the view and evening sunset while enjoying some wine and locally steamed lobsters. A perfect get-a-way!

Private location, well maintained and loved by owners, it's wonderful they share their property. Our family enjoyed the deck overlooking Long Cove. We brought our kayaks and hauled them down the steep pathway to waterfront. Kayaked everyday saw seals, bald eagle family and amazing tidal changes. House was equipped with everything we needed. 45 minutes out of Bar Harbor. Would definately revisit or recommend. Visited 6/25/22.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin has everything you should need. Spacious and well maintained. Beautiful view!!
While being secluded the cabin is close enough to the surrounding activities. We took kayaks with us and spent sometime out on the water. We also enjoyed walking along the shore when the tide was out. Truly a space we would like to visit again!

We absolutely loved the privacy and seclusion offered at this property. It had everything we needed and then some. We enjoyed building several puzzles in our 'down' time. Susan was so kind and helpful - and the new ramp was a big plus! The information about the area was great to have and a call after arrival was super nice to receive. I hope we have an opportunity to return!!

This rental did not disappoint, wanted a peaceful escape, centrally located to all the activities and we found it! Honestly, hard to get out the door in the AM, being mesmerized by the cove, right out the picture window. Beautiful! Cottage was perhaps a step back in time but we enjoyed every minute and every detail - appreciating all the tips and tricks offered to guests thru notes, brochures and books.. Host was excellent to communicate with responding quickly to any and all our inquiries.

Our family ages range from 21-60 years and we all had a fantastic time at this private home situated on the water. We drove to Bar Harbor to fulfill our tourist goals and hiked each day at Acadia. Although the drive to these attractions is about 30-40 minutes, it was nice to get back to ‘home base’ where we could prepare our meals and enjoy each others’ company without crowds. All appliances were easy yo use and the host and home were so welcoming. We will be back!! Thank you Susan for sharing this wonderful family gem!
