About this house rental
Highland Hideaway is a thoughtfully appointed home in the Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure. As our guest at Highland Hideaway, you will have access to the resort amenities - enjoy the community beach, pool, mini golf, and spa (additional cost may apply for certain amenities and the resort rules must be observed by all guests).
The home opens up to a spacious living room with lots of natural light. The dining room is open to the living room and is tastefully decorated to provide all the comforts of home so you can enjoy a relaxing vacation. A well equipped kitchen provides all of the basics necessary to prepare meals for your family. The refrigerator/freezer features 'craft ice' for drink aficionados. A propane gas grill just off the breakfast nook on the spacious deck is available to guests who enjoy grilling. The primary bedroom is located on the main level and has an en-suite with a walk-in shower and a tub. Two more bedrooms on the main level share the hall bath with a shower/tub combo.
The lower level offers a fantastic family and game space with a pool table that can be easily converted to ping pong for some friendly competition. Another bedroom is located in the lower level with access to a full bath with a large tiled shower and a dry sauna. The large flat screen TV is great for watching movies and sports. A nice deck outside of the family/game room is great for listening to the birds and watching wildlife. You may even see a black bear (Please don't feed the bears!). The wooded view of Lake Lure and the mountains add to the serenity of this beautiful property. There is a FROG (finished room above the garage) bonus space that has been converted to sleeping quarters with two queen size beds.

Our family had an amazing time on our recent vacation to Lake Lure. The home was lovely and spacious for our three sons, daughters in love and our three grandchildren. We especially enjoyed spending evenings grilling on the upstairs deck and relaxing on thr screened in porch. The game room downstairs was enjoyed by all! I highly recommend this home for your next family vacation!

The house was perfect for our girls getaway. Six of us were able to spread out around the house and relax while still finding plenty of room to gather together for fun and games. The passes were great for the pool, but don’t work for the mini-golf. The extra amenities in the kitchen (trash bags and dishwasher tabs) were really helpful.
The pool/pong-pong table was great entertainment too.
We would definitely stay again.

This house was great for us and rumbling bald is a great resort area to stay. The house is a quick 3 minute drive to the amenities. Everything in the house is very clean and brand new. The kitchen has anything you could need. We had an issue cause a storm came in about two hours after we checked in and we lost power till the next morning. The refrigerator definitely takes some time to get cold with all the food and with the power being out the ice machine didn’t work for a day. But the owners and property manager were keeping in touch with us to see if there was anything they could do to help. It was nice being at the end of the Culdesac so my kids could ride their scooters.

My family of four and another family of six enjoyed our stay at this Rumbling Bald house. The house was clean. The beds were comfortable and the linens were nice. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The pots and pans were nicer than most I've seen in rental homes. The craft ice was really appreciated by the bourbon drinkers in our group. Although, you have to keep resetting the craft ice function in order to get 6 cubes at a time. Worth the effort though. The Rumbling Bald resort provided ample entertainment for our group of children ranging in age from 2 - 10. The pool, lazy river, rentable pontoons and kayaks, the private lake and beach area, mini-golf, and the playground were all enjoyed by our crew.

This was a perfect place for our group of friends to gather, relax and explore. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. The views are amazing this time of year with the leaves changing and the the lake in the distance. Inside the house is so nicely decorated and we enjoyed the fireplace upstairs and the pool table downstairs. The area has so much to see and do. This time of year it was nice to visit the vineyards, hike at Chimney Rock, and we enjoyed the local cuisine at the restaurants along the lake. The hosts have truly created a wonderful getaway in a special location.

We had a wonderful time in the Rumbling Bald Resort. The house was perfect for our friends and family. We loved the two living areas and the game room kept the kids happy. The decks were great for eating meals and enjoying the view of the mountains.

We had a great time and this house was the perfect property for our family. It was exactly as described. It was very spacious, clean, and had a wide variety of things to do. We saw wildlife while there and enjoyed the Rumbling Bald Resort.
The beds were very comfortable and the furniture was very nice, yet homey. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we might need.
We would definitely stay there again.

Awesome visit and home. One note to be aware of: the vent hood in kitchen is dangerous. 4 in our group had unpleasant encounters with it, drawing blood twice.
