Arrived after 7 hour drive, never been to the city, asked the front desk woman about parking and she was rude. Told us to park out front but it was only 4 hour parking? Then when we tried to check in she was saying there weren’t enough rooms and then was on her personal phone talking about a birthday party the entire time. We get up to the room and there were bugs in the makeup on a pig makeover of a bathroom, stained sheets and hanging cords and power strip. No amenities, terrible customer service, no parking, small room and poor check in and room appearance

Room was filthy. Dirty towels. The bed was not made. Trash in the bathroom and room trash cans. Bad area. No parking. Bad check in.

Nice, unique place.

I never thought I’d become friends with the front desk staff at a hotel, but here I am! I want to give a huge thanks to Jamar (I hope I spelled your name right 😉). My family and I were in Baltimore this week to help my sister settle into her new university, and we were pretty nervous about the city since we’d never been here before.
All the staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to show us around. When we needed extra towels and toilet paper, Jamar was there to help us out. After dropping my sister off at school, I came back to the lobby feeling emotional and ended up crying. Jamar talked to me and offered such kind support—I really appreciated it! You truly made my whole week, and I felt much safer and more comfortable because of it.
If you’re looking for a safe and clean hotel, this is the place. There’s staff in the lobby 24/7, and while the rooms might seem a bit old, remember that it’s a historic hotel. Thank you again, Jamar, and the entire team!

The hotel was very close to the ballpark. Uber was an easy pick up and drop off the hotel was very clean and high ceilings.

Great place! My room was on the 1st floor. Still, it was quiet (no noise). The staff are courteous and helpful!

This is a beautifully restored historic hotel. The staff os friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean z and comfortable. Skip the breakfast, it's not much, but the coffee machine in the lobby has nice options.

Beautiful place, located in a nice safe and clean area. Staff was available 24/7 and very friendly.

Very quiet, cute building in a great location. I got a corner room with fabulous views of the city on two sides. The spiral staircase alone is worth the stay. Staff was friendly and low-key. The only downside was one of the bedside lamps didn't work, the floorboards near the bathroom had warped a touch, and some of the fixtures were loose like the towel rack. But honestly I have to really dig deep to think of a problem. Great little spot.

It was the worst dump in maybe the worst neighborhood I have ever been to. And it was clear it was not safe at all and the hotel is a dump on top of that. Do not stay here because they are nasty and rude on top of everything else

I was initially concerned about this property because it said online that it was on a contactless hotel however that changed so it did have a front desk person at all time.
The property itself appears to be a converted brownstone so its really homey. It has a kitchen that the guest can use and its pretty open. The room was nice and clean. It was also really quiet so that was nice.
I worried about parking since it is the city but they have reserved spaces so i was lucky enough to get one everyday.
The best part was the staff. Shout-out to Terrell! Everyone that worked this past weekend was great however Terrell really looked out for us.
Overall, it was a great experience and we would stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Built in 1881 beautifully restored.

The staff was very friendly, the hotel is beautiful with an amazing architecture and great location. But I was disappointed with the room facilities, specially the uncomfortable bed.

A boutique hotel that needs more attention to detail

This is a unique hotel that offers a different experience from a brand-name hotel.

The hotel was great, however they did provide the room I booked, only one with less beds. Because they were fully booked, there was nothing they could do short of refund me.
2.5
The hotel is an historic building, beautifully restored, but along with that goes a few minor faults: the wood flooring can be loud (especially when housekeeping is vacuuming above you) and the elevator is small and slow. I managed to snag one of the few free guest parking spaces in front of the hotel- I think there is parking available nearby, but luckily I didn't need it. The area is lovely and there's much to see on a short walk around. The room was clean and comfortable- if the temperature isn't to your liking there was a space heater and fan already in the room. WiFi worked well. I would definitely stay here again.

Cozy, clean beds, room nicely furnished and modern, newly updated bathroom. No complaints ....

We came to the Brexton because it was close and convenient to Johns Hopkins. We loved it because of the history of the hotel and the area. The staff was outstanding and the room was lovely. We'll be back.

everything is outstanding: accommodations, staff, amenities, neighborhood...our second stay, and probably not our last. thanks, Hotel Brexton!

The sink leaked and there was electrical issues.
But it is a beautiful, historic hotel in an awesome neighborhood!

We stay here every time we are in Baltimore. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are clean, simple, well designed, and comfortable. Great location and quiet. Clean kitchen with a generous free breakfast. You always meet some nice people there.

Great little hotel close to the Lyric. Went for a concert and wanted to stay somewhere close. Loved the feel of the place. Great service. Nice comfortable and quiet room. Breakfast was limited but did have good coffee.
2.5
The front desk staff was incredible. The rooms are simple but perfect for what we needed as we just needed a bed to sleep and then we were out and about. The showers are very very small like a cruise ship. The breakfast is cereal, bagels, juice and coffee or hot chocolate. We really enjoyed out stay and would stay there again in the future.
3.0
Rooms not ready by 7pm due to cleaning staff problem. We ended up taking an uncleaned room so we could stash our stuff before leaving for concert. Front desk tried valiantly to do what they could, need new, and more staff on hand, but a very cool old building.

The wonderful young woman who checked us in was amazing!

No refrigerator, no microwave and shower head to far to reach or adjust. The tv would freeze up lots of times.

Overnight trip for fun. A little noisy from pipes, water, cleaning crew upstairs intermittently. Overall hotel was a pleasant surprise. Nicely appointed and clean.

A really nice find in Baltimore. GREAT location for seeing events at the lyric, easily walkable. Clean, modern furnishings in the room. Basic continental breakfast included. Limited street parking in front of the hotel is the only downside. I've already recommended it to others.

Beautiful old hotel in great location. Can't wait to stay there again. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Perhaps its unfair but I was there the coldest days on record in January. The room was cold and
since it was equipped with a space heater I imagine it has that problem at other times. The windows are big and that probably adds to the problem it being an old hotel.
I booked it because I like historic ambiance but while the hotel and room was old the room decor was
not. Two window shades were broken and could not be raised.
It was very clean and the bed was comfortable and the staff was terrific. The continental breakfast was adequate but the seating was not adequate in the dining area.
However it might be okay in other seasons but I was disappointed and might look further in the future
do to the fact that I thought it a bit pricey for what you get.

I recently stayed at the Braxton Hotel in Baltimore I was traveling on business. Upon checking in I was pleased to find a modern room tastefully appointed and might I add it was very clean. Excellent bedding, the room was spacious and the bathroom and shower were immaculate as was the entire hotel. The staff was pleasant and accommodating to the few requests I had. Decent breakfast was included. This was an older building that had been renovated and apparently a generous budget to make it look so nice.
It is in a safe neighborhood with safe street parking. Try the Braxton Hotel, I would definitely stay there again any time I'm in town.

We would certainly not recommend the Hotel Brexton to anyone.....We had booked a room there over 2 months ago, because of it's proximity to the Modell Center for the Performing Arts. Upon arrival, we were told the present occupants of the room were staying longer than expected, so basically, we had no rooms. We were traveling with another couple who also had a reservation that was not available. They offered to put us up in their "sister" property if the rooms were still not available later in the afternoon. After returning to the Brexton around 3 p.m, there was not only no rooms at the Brexton but also, no rooms at the "sister" property. They did find a room for us about 20 minutes away......
What was particularly insulting was the staff was unapologetic and lied regarding our reservations. This is certainly no way to do business and we could not in all honestly recommend this hotel. After many, many, years of travel, we have never experienced such unprofessional behavior!

Friendly staff with a great location. Had a good breakfast and convenient parking. Would recommend to anyone staying in Baltimore for an event.

The hotel was a nice change of pace from the more modern hotels with enormous lobbies. There was a quaint single desk check in. The architecture is what appealed to me originally. It's always interesting to see how modern conveniences are made to fit in the space available. For instance, the small elevator that is shaped like home plate in a ball diamond. Our room was small with a small bathroom but was certainly adequate for our one night stay. Two desk clerks (one when we checked in and another the next morning) were the only hotel employees we met. They were both friendly.

A real find for a very convenient stay in the area of Baltimore close to John Hopkins hospital. Also very close to a real nice Thia Restaurant called Thia Landing just a few blocks away. The room was well appointed with all of the modern accessories. The staff was very helpful and manager was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about the history of the hotel. The breakfast was continental and had adequate choices. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quite i.e. no noise for the hall or other rooms or street below. The area seemed very safe to walk to the surrounding areas and was well lite. The one and only draw back was lack of parking which wasn't a issue due to my stay on a Monday and Tuesday

Rode the light rail from airport to within a couple of blocks of hotel.
