About this cottage rental

Potters Cottage is an 18th century, detached cottage, nestled in the heart of Fowey (AONB). Brand new for 2024, the cottage has been lovingly refurbished, maintaining many of its original features which have been complimented by modern living luxuries that you would expect for a truly comfortable stay.

Entering Potters via Cobbs Wells through a privacy keypad entrance gate, original granite steps will lead you to the lower courtyard and cottage entrance. In the lower courtyard area, there is plenty of space for you to store shoes/boots, coats, hiking gear, or beach equipment.

The front door opens into a large, welcoming dual aspect dining area and cosy living space, withlimestone floor and hand burnished traditional column radiators. The entertaining area comprises of a large Grange dining table and chairs, leather chesterfield sofas, sash window seat, log burner, smart TV and a music system (downstairs communal area) for you to connect to via Bluetooth.

From the lounge, an archway leads you to the beautifully fitted cottage kitchen, boasting a granite work surface, integrated appliances, sash window seat to perch on and heated limestone floor. You will find everything you require to be creative! The cottage kitchen is dual aspect, and its courtyard window can open fully onto the external wall, creating a wonderful opening, making it easy to pass food and drinks out to take to the terrace.

A stunning oak staircase rises from the lounge and leads to the spacious first floor landing, which has an open, airy feeling due to the vaulted ceilings and sash windows. Throughout the cottage, the beautiful locally handmade sash windows allow sunlight to beam in, providing a lifting glow. On the first floor you will find three delightful cottage bedrooms comprising of a king bed and two twin rooms. Also, on the first floor you will find a luxurious, fully tiled bathroom and a separate shower room. The tastefully decorated bedrooms have picturesque views across Place, St Frimbarus Church, Church walk, the rolling countryside of Polruan and estuary views.

From the lower courtyard the garden steps lead you up to the spacious, fully tiled sun terrace, which is a wonderful all-day suntrap. The sun terrace houses a well-appointed outdoor utility room, beautiful teak garden furniture and an outdoor Beefeater BBQ entertaining unit to help you enjoy alfresco living. You can fully relax on the sun terrace and soak up the views of Place, St Frimbarus steeple and look across the rooftops of Fowey towards the estuary.
