Iconic hotel, perfect location.

They charged me 70 for motorcycle parking. Outrageous

Cousin of mine recommended and I was very pleased with my stay.

What a classic. My room was small but cosy, very nice bed and good amenities.
The overall style is a bit darkish but that's in line with the original design. The lobby is fantastic art deco styled. The absolute highlight of the hotel is the pool. The setting is very Hollywood, the cabins, the restaurants, the service. All ace.

I really like this hotel, so convenient and beautiful.but we had one of the smaller rooms and the ventilation made loud noises all night. There was no price list for items in the honor bar. The bar at the pool had a really good vegan option and my husband enjoyed his cob salad. Breakfast at 25⁰ was also very good. the staff so helpful.

Old school Hollywood charm meets modern day luxury. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt. The Tropicana Pool and hotel amenities were outstanding, as was the location.

Great classic hotel that has been upgraded and modernized inside. Perfect for staying overnight when attending a concert at the Hollywood bowl.

Amazing poolside oasis somehow insulated from ground zero of the walk of fame. Easy 25min walk to Hollywood Bowl. Large, clean, quiet rooms. Good value. Easy to recommend.

Lovely historic hotel in a good location. We were there to attend an event at the Hollywood Bowl. Front desk staff are great. Bar and cafe areas could use more staff and a bit better organization.
The hotel helped me change my arrival date when Hotels.com only ever sent me emails that they were working on it!

I don’t know what it is about this hotel, but has an X-factor that no other hotels have (and I have stayed in MANY places all over the World.
Staff is friendly, but I didn’t really interact with them that much especially since the main entrance is not where the check-in etc takes place.
The location is good. Not because of the surroundings just outside - that is very tacky. But it is very close to the Metro, close to the studios, close to Melrose and Beverly Hills and easy to get downtown too.
The reason that this hotel is among the 5 best I have stayed at is because of the ambiance. Main lobby area/bar i exceptional. Tastefully kept in a very god condition. And the pool area is top notch too.

Very nice hotel but severely lacking in service. We stayed an extra day and picked this hotel for the pool. The service at the pool was just terrible. Our first server left without telling us I had to ask 2 others for some service. The one we finally got after 40 minutes was rude and it took us even longer to get lunch. Light dinner at the lobby wasn’t much better. The highlight of the trip was the great service that we had from the mixologist at the Library bar. He was just friendly and fantastic. He also told us that the gratuity was already on our bill. Neither of the two previous waitresses had told us that and we didn’t look close enough at the bill so they were double tipped. Which really irritated me since the pool waitress didn’t even deserve 1 tip and she got two substantial tips. The day at the pool was anything but relaxing with the loud music that a dj was playing. I’m not even sure what to call the music he was playing. We are early 50s but the average age at the pool was probably 60 so the music was a bit much for everyone. The drink menu at the pool is mostly $20 specialty drinks or expensive wine. They had 5 beers and the two that I tried to get they were out of. The kicker was that we also had great service from our bell hop, Chris coming and going but their ATM wasn’t working and since it’s a cashless property we didn’t have any cash on hand to give him. Sure wish we could have taken some of the waitresses tip and give it to him!

It was luxurious! We got a cabana and I felt like royalty. It was so nice to sit out and just enjoy the fresh air. I loved every minute of it and I will certainly be back!

Beautiful old hotel with very friendly staff. Absolutely perfect location for the Hollywood area, we could walk around to everything so easy.
Hotel room is small but beautiful with great view of the Chinese theatre and we could see the Hollywood sign from our window. The only negative was the design of the shower. The glass wasn’t long enough so the water sprayed over the floor, plus they put the shampoo caddy under the shower head so when you try using it the water washes it out of your hands, and the shower head was fixed so not like you could angle it away. Minor inconvenience that doesn’t change my mind that this is an exceptional hotel and would definitely stay again

Classic old-fashioned hotel from 1920s which hosted first Oscars. Lots of character but overpriced for what it is! Drinks too expensive, food greasy and overpriced! Right on Hollywood Bld-beware this street is dirty, over touristy, unsafe to walk at night and given how much money Movies make is a shocking indictment of life in LA! The street is full of homeless people, druggies and the smell of urine and dope is unbearable. Would not returm here but would come back to LA. If you are a movie buff and looking for Hollywood history this is sorely disappointing!! The hotels and theatres here should do something to tidy the area up!

First few nights were fine, stayed in the tower. Then had to extend my trip, this is when all hell broke loose.
They moved my room (the one I was in wasn't avail so I booked a different type of room), but the new room was a disaster.
I re-checked in, it was humid and everything was sticky. That should have been my warning sign. It was behind the kitchen/outside bar so also LOUD, lots of standing water in the hallway directly outside, mosquitos in room. I'm not fussy so I figured I'd turn the AC higher and it would be fine.
Popped my pricy meds that need refrigeration into the fridge and unpacked my stuff. Went out and then went to bed. Humidity was still bad when I got back & the room was FREEZING which I decided was ok to suffer through if it cut the humidity.
Woke up and went to take my meds, the mini fridge was broken and all my meds were ruined. I spent my morning asking the hotel to bring me a new mini fridge and to see what they could do about the humidity as well as calling all my doctors to replace my meds (which I need daily to survive). $370 in new meds later I come back to the room, fridge still hasn't been changed and whatever they did to try to fix the AC caused a flood from the vent in the bathroom ruining everything including a new pair of Gucci fur slippers/slide ons :(.
They moved me finally, without telling me, but after so many days at the hotel, all they offered as comp was a refund of the daily resort fee. Less than $200. 10/10 do not recommend.

Had a fabulous time on a quick overnight in LA at this historic property. Staff was friendly and helpful, great service (And delicious octopus tacos) at the pool. Room was clean and cozy in the Cabana building. Room service was alarmingly fast with delivery. Had a great time, would love to stay here again.
