I recently stayed at the Nostos rooms & Apartments in Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. Everything was great including the location, and I have no complaints. When we requested an iron and ironing board, they were brought to our room. There was no bathtub, but the shower was big! I highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with everything we needed. Close to Ortigia and parking. Quiet room and comfortable bed. The Aircondition worked perfectly. Would recommend :)

Had a good stay overall, though this was our least favorite accommodation during our trip to Sicily. I’ll give the pros and then the cons.
Pros: huge room, included a small kitchen like an airbnb, great WiFi, very clean and modern, right next to Ortigia and a bunch of wonderful restaurants.
Cons: reception is not open during any set hours, so arrival and departure is very annoying as you need to communicate endlessly with the owners, which is not enjoyable for people on vacation (indeed, many times I could see that my messages were read but the owner never responded, and I had to repeatedly prompt him for a response, which is pretty disrespectful to me); we were on the third floor of an incredibly tall building (it was 70 stairs from top to bottom every time we had to go anywhere, with no lift) - while this was fine for me and my partner, it was very hard for my mom; the bathroom was built to look very modern, including glass at the top, but that meant that any time you turned on the lights, it illuminated the entire room; the shutters did not keep much light out from sunrise; and the street is noisy, including a VERY noisy person our first night who was banging incessantly on the door downstairs to get in in the middle of the night.
Overall, this was our least favorite stay in Sicily, though I personally think the accommodations themselves and location were overall very good. The check in/out process was the worst part of our stay.

OH MY WORD !!!!! Nostos was over the top awesome !!!! Everything about it was perfect - clean, comfortable, hot shower, super comfortable bed, lots of room and the host was the ultimate in customer service - you have to stay here - we will definitely be back again and again.

Very nice, quiet place to stay on a busy street. They were very nice to allow me to check in early. Really just to drop my bag. The door on the street looks a bit drab; but, once you're in it's very clean and comfortable. Shower pressure was strong, so nice to have.

Just before arriving in Syracuse I I had a painful calf tear and could barely walk or carry my case( ( especially up stairs). The ad hadn't mentioned four flights of stairs( up to the second floor) to my room, so I rang reception before arriving and asked for someone to take my suitcase upstairs.
They unfortunately declined, although did change my room to a lower floor( but still two flights)
After that things improved, although they have no paper maps of the city.
The bedroom was comfortable enough, with a plain corporate decor.
Corso Umberto is a wide, plain street, but with some very affordable cafes and small restaurants. But it is one way to traffic, including buses, so it's impossible to catch a bus to Ortigia, where most of the sights are.
So I had to walk slowly and painfully to get there ( 20 minutes for me)
Reception was otherwise friendly, and did take my case downstairs on checkout

Syracuse is a very beautiful town and we could do all the sightseeing on foot from the hotel. The rooms are clean and have new decor.

The apartment is great: modern, renovated, clean. It is three blocks from the bridge to Ortigia, what makes it very convenient. Laundromat and two groceries at the corner, along with several restaurants and a rental car with multiple company options (Alamo, Enterprise, etc). The apartment we stayed was on the 3rd floor with no elevator, so the arrival and departure days were tough. The apartment is cleaned every day, the A/C is strong and powerful and wifi worked well. The rooms was very clean. In fact, everything looked new, like no one ever stayed there before. I really liked the way the room was laid out and was extremely comfortable. The manager of the property was very helpful. The property is ideally located in that you are quite close to the bus station and train station, but also close to the bridge to Ortiga.

When you see the building from the street, it looks quite old and weird, but the rooms are super nice and new. The instructions to find the room were not very clear, but the person who was talking to us by message was very friendly.
On hotels.com it says that the hotel has free parking, but it's not true. There are some free parking spots on the streets nearby, but they were quite full. The location of the hotel is very good, you can walk to the popular spots, bars, and restaurants.

No vip treatment was supposed to get bottle of wine, room upgrade etc. No acknowledgement at all. Room ok but don't expect a sleep in. noise from 7.30am, they really want you out of the rooms as early as possible, pretty disappointing

Had a room with nice view over the main road. Room is modern and clean. Bed is comfortable. Shower is the best . Breakfast provided at a nearby bar was ok. Easy to find free parking on the side street. Just be aware that the room is on the 2nd floor, stairs only, no lift.

Very happy five night stay. In a good location in that it is near the railway station and also near the tourist areas but as not in either is a quieter place to stay despite the busy road outside which when inside one can't hear.
Management and room service were first class, efficient, helpful and friendly.
Good value too, would happily stay there again.
