For starters, hotels dot com never mentioned it was a hostel, not a hotel. I was trying to impress my girlfriend and picked it because of its 8.8 rating. That's completely inflated. I just had major ankle surgery and the elevator was broken the entire time. I had to walk up 2 flights of stairs multiple times a day. The towels were old and crunchy. The stair case carpet was stained, but worse yet, the handrail was covered in dirty hand marks. The coffee service was only offered until noon, but even then, it was a 45 minute wait. So much potential, but it's literally falling apart. The bed was very uncomfortable

Stayed at an eight bed dorm. We were ALWAYS out of toilet paper, one toilet roll simply isn’t enough for that many people. And even though I mentioned this at more than one occasion they never provided more, so most of us put in our own toilet paper. There should also be more rules as one could never use the bathroom, while it’s not the hostels fault that some guests take the liberty of average bathroom time of 90 minutes, if there are restrictions and rules it can definitely help the stay be a more comfortable one for everyone involved. I spent the majority of my time running to the bathroom in the lobby which sucks when you’re staying on the top floor. There was also a staff member working the night shift on the night to the 31st of October that was incredibly nonchalant and rude. I get that you don’t always have a great day but why should I as a guest pay the price for it?

We stayed at a private room for two nights one before and after our cruise. First time, we stayed in a nice room, but there was lots of noise coming from a party that didnt let us sleep till very late. The second time, we arrived early in the morning, around 9am and we were told that they had our room available but we had to pay extra if we wanted to check in early. When we asked what time we could comeback, the answer was around 13-13:30. We were back around 13.15 and another receptionist this time told us that the room wasnt ready yet. We returned around 15.45 and we finally checked in. When we went to bathroom, we found out everything was dirty. When we complained to the reception, they sent someone to clean, but when she left the tube still had hair from the previous people. It was very discouraging, to check-in to a room that supposingly took them so many ours to be ready, and at the end of the day it wasnt clean. :(
