Walkable distance (10-15min) to the Natural Pool. Most of the staff were supportive but some were rude to guests who didn't speak French. Breakfast was okay, not many options. There is no restaurants, shops around the area, so make sure to bring your own meal if you don't want to dine at the same restaurant for a few days.

A beautiful location almost surrounded by water.
Service was excellent and the staff are very friendly.
The problem for us was the room lighting; it was a like being in a twilight zone ! It was too dim to read a book!
The other problem was that we were unable to access the Internet on our i-Pads in the room, though the phone connection was good.

The overall experience at the Meridien was amazing from the start of our stay till the end. The hotel staff picked us up from the hotel, they also had everything ready for our check-in. The beach is gorgeous and the view amazing. The natural pool is really nice and it is at walking distance. The food was delicious and the size of the serve just right. The staff was also friendly and help us with our requests.

There were a few problems with the equipment, such as broken switches and safes, and poorly placed doors, but the natural beauty and good service of the staff more than made up for it.

My stay at the méridien was wonderful… I was upgraded to a bungalow and treated like royalty… the bungalow was super well equipped and ultra comfortable. The staff at the hotel was very professional, efficient, and friendly! They did go out of their way to make us feel special… I hope that I get a chance to go back and stay there again, one day

Overall we had a lovely stay at this property but did have some criticism.
Positive: The beach and natural pool (15 min walk) is beautiful! The water is crystal clear, and soft sand. We had a garden view, standard room which was spacious and bed was really comfortable. Lovely pool to relax at during the day or sun loungers on the beach. Also have hammocks in the garden which was lovely to read a book in the shade. Buffet breakfast had a good selection with fresh eggs and pancakes. Some great staff stood out - Marie in restaurant, Corinne at reception and Sebastian/Christian management.
Negative: The food! Very expensive and bland. We skipped lunch entirely because we knew we’d be disappointed so if you’re foodies, I’d avoid New Calendonia entirely as we didn’t have any good food for our entire stay on the mainland either. If you do stay here, the snack menu is the best and you can opt for this at dinner (burger, pasta)! If you’re English speaking, the language barrier can be really challenging. Brush up on your French! We also need the boat excursion to Brosse island, we only saw one turtle but did then the island beach was sensational. Much cheaper to book direct with boat company before you arrive (half the price). We also tried to book a massage but fully booked so pre-book this if interested.

Good things:
- Location - fantastic views of the Bay, great access to Anse Vata and Baie de Citrons
- Facilities - lovely beach and spa, great parking
- Food - Fare restaurant was good, breakfast and room service very average, prices competitive for the fact that this is a "luxury" hotel
Disappointments:
- Housekeeping - they don't clean anything or replace things properly, e.g., dirty spoon, coffee cups, empty soap bottles, bathrobes. Despite multiple requests to rectify these problems, it took 2-3 days before they got their act together. Small things but they add up - makes you question the cleanliness and overall standard
- Room design - Nice views and spacious, but the airconditioning is completely ineffective as the vent is right near the door, which means horrendously hot nights during the summer. You sleep effectively with just a fan - not what you want in a luxury hotel
- Inconsistent service - Couple of nice and helpful receptionists, but everyone else is largely ineffective, bordering on unhelpful, you'll have to call at least twice to get anything done
Overall, it seems that they just take it for granted that they are the only “luxury” hotel in Noumea, and don’t do much to prove it. You certainly don’t get what you pay for from such a reputed brand. A less fancy name or place would likely charge you less and do a better job. Disappointing because their other properties in New Caledonia are certainly up to scratch. Very unlikely to return.

Resort is at a beautiful location and the staff are excellent and attentive. The food menu can be expanded and more varied for a 5 star resort. My wife also does not eat seafood so a limited menu became even more limited.

There was no pool during our 8 night stay (especially disappointing since the beach was closed due to shark attacks - not the hotel's fault obviously but made it worse). The alternative was to go to the hotel next door to use their pool but they had very loud construction going on each day. The pool was supposed to be back up and running halfway through our stay but the repairs went very slowly and then they couldn't get the water quality right after it was filled, so it was only opened on the afternoon of our last day! During the last few days there was construction outside out room during the day.
There was a poor selection of evening eating options. We did enjoy the Latitude bar for pre-dinner drinks but even there, scaffolding was erected inside the bar for the last few days!
No compensation was offered by the hotel for the reduced facilities, inconvenience and disruption.
Most of the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, and did their best to help us with activities and dealing with the airlines during the Isle of Pines airport blockade. Especially Luna, who was very helpful, patient and extremely pleasant to deal with!!! She went out of her way to help me deal with the airline when trying to find out about flight disruptions and re-booking options (which wasn't easy for a non-french speaker). She also did a wonderful job suggesting and arranging activities for us, all of which we enjoyed very much. The activities Luna helped us chose were the highlight of our h

We came here for our honeymoon. I wanted a beautiful beach away from people and noise and Le Meridien exceeded my expectations. The beach view bungalow was spacious and comfortable and we had our own balcony with lounger. I loved the cabanas on the beach and spent a lot of time reading there in peace and quiet. The breakfast buffet was good, similar to other resorts but the french toast was my favourite. The restaurant menu had limited options (no pizza or pasta or curry) but there were interesting specials every day and a wonderful buffet on Saturday. After dinner we would stroll back down the beach with a torch and watch the cute hermit crabs scuttle around. The staff were all lovely and helpful (especially Christian and the guy in the beach fare) even if they found it difficult to understand our kiwi English sometimes. If you like snorkelling you should walk around the sand river to the natural pool at low tide. At high tide you need use fins and to swim out 0.5km into the bay to find coral and lots of fish. Near the rock in the middle of the bay is a good spot. Also between Île Kônubutr and Île Mwâréya I saw turtles. There is also a nice 1 hour walk to Upi bay. It would be good if they had a boat to take you further out for snorkelling. Otherwise you have to take a shuttle to Kuto bay for the boat tour. Overall, it was a lovely place for a honeymoon.

Having visited over 130 countries (and a bundle of beaches), the Meridien at Iles de Pins has to take the crown for the most idilic place anywhere. The amenities are top notch and the beach, sea, azure skies, trees are all entirely breathtaking. Unlike Australia, there are no sharks, no stinging jelly fish, no flies and no crocodiles either. And even the wifi works everywhere! Not cheap but worth every penny.

The location of the property is very exclusive. you can easily spend a whole day on Oro Bay, or pay a visit to Natural Pool. The staffs are all warm and friendly. We traveld with our 21 months old, and the hotel manager did everything he could to help us out with special needs. As he explained, the resort was closed for 2 yrs due to covid, they lost a lot of staffs. They just open up and they have dificulty to hire staff and need to train the new staffs. They will invest the income to bring it up to level. I apreciated the honesty, covid made a big impact to hospitality industry. They deserve some understanding. One thing we don't really agree with is they charge shuttle between the airport. At a such exclusive location and premium room rate, you would expect the hotel to offer free shuttle. Overall, if you want to enjoy private space and breath taking view, this place won't disappoint you.
