Lovely hotel in the centre of Lund. Old world opulence and style. Loved it. Only down side is my room was small and some outside noise of street cleaners , glass collectors from a nearby establishment across the street. Breakfast was wonderful. All good

This hotel is a real gem in the center of Lund. Close to all the shopping areas, restaurants, and the train station that brings you to Malmö in 15 minutes. We opted to stay longer in the Grand Hotel instead of spending a night in Malmo. The rooms are great, phenomenal breakfast buffet, and very friendly and helpful personnel.

The building is impressive, and the communal areas are well-decorated and “grand”, especially the main staircase. However, our room was not so grand. It is unfortunately in dire need of refurbishment. We were greeted by the musty smell of old furnishings, and the room was poorly laid out (I kept hitting my head on the sloped roof because of the position of the bed). For a double room, it’s quite odd that there was only one bedside table, and the power sockets were too far from the bed to be useful. Our room really should have been a storage cupboard.
Our main problem was that the staff did not appear to know what was going on. We called the hotel to let them know we’d be arriving late, and they cheerfully gave us entirely wrong information about what we’d need to do to gain access to arrival. When we’d spent some time sorting that out, we were told at reception that the bar closed at midnight. So, we went upstairs and unpacked, then came down at 11.15pm to be told by the bar staff that they had already closed. We checked the guest information book, and the bar should indeed have been open until midnight on a Thursday. The breakfast was okay, if a bit limited in choice, and the odd layout meant that guests kept having to squeeze between other guests’ tables to get to their seat. Also, breakfast patrons were not allowed to sit in the best part of the room, overlooking the park, for some reason. A bit of an odd stat, but we did sleep well in the end, despite the lack of AC.

It was truly a “grand” hotel” - stately, elegant, beautiful, meticulously maintained. Very impressive!
The breakfast buffet was extraordinary- the best we have ever seen.

Staying at the Grand Hotel I felt special from check-in, breakfast and anything else I enjoyed along the way. Wilheim was very kind when I wanted to sit outside to enjoy some amazing meatballs for dinner at the restaurant, it was kind of cold for all other patrons. Thanks

One of my worst experiences
First impressions lasts. Unfortunately I was met by a non smiling receptionist whose name is called "Felicia" or something similar.
My wife and I didn't feel welcomed by her. I got a very small room which is worn out on the 4th floor with a low cieling.
My wife has fobia against small places.
I went down again immediately to the receptionist and after struggling with the recpetionist "Felicia", I got a better room.
She started asking me if I have moved anything in the room. I was away 5 minutes ago where we just saw the room and went down to her!
By the way if you look at other reviews you will find someone else wrote about the same experience where he mentioned that she should
find another job. I guess it the same receptionist which my wife and I experienced.
The bed is 140 cm wide although it is a double room. It was very difficult for me and my wife to sleep in such a small bed.
The TV was an old B&0 which is about 18-20 inches with only 7 Swedish channels. Again once more another disappointment.
This hotel looks very nice from outside and is old fashioned but according to what you get relative to what you pay, it is not worth the money.
There is tea and coffee in the lobby but the water was not hot enough.
Bathroom is alo small. Towels are hanging very close to the toilet.
Breakfast was okay but was lacking croissant. My wife got coffee served which was cold.
I would never go there again!
