This hotel is in a great place overlooking the lake, we had stunning views from morning to night time. Shops, eateries and buses all within a 5 minute walk. We were there mid September but alot of places were closed in the evening so limited on dining options out of the hotel. Parking was very tight due to other inconsiderate guest parking and it was 20 minutes to Lake Como so we had the benefit of a cheaper price than Lake Como towns. No tea/coffee making facilities but eveerything else was great

Good location if you choose the lake view rooms. Bedding and the rooms were clean but that’s where all the positives stop. There is no air conditioning so the night was hit even with the extremely slow speed ceiling fan, and not even an iron available. Toilet seats were broken and no curtains in the bath when taking shower in either of the two rooms, and no overhead shower so showering was not a good experience. When asked for the iron we were told we’d had to walk10 minutes. Also no fridge in the rooms. We then had to pay for the breakfast which we thought was included since we paid extortionate prices, even for the peak seasons. Will be speaking to Expedia about it. Feel ripped off sadly :(

The view of the lake is great, but the hotel is old-fashioned and intended only for a short stay. We stayed at the hotel for a week and it was too long. The hotel is old-fashioned, but clean. Breakfast was simple and the same every morning, I also missed veggies. The gym was equipped with non-functioning equipment, so it does not serve anyone. We also tried the sauna and it was good. I would recommend to pay little more and find a hotel from Lugano or Lake Como.

A great small hotel. We expected a restaurant, but it was only for breakfast. Nice small pool, but note that there is no service by the pool (no drinks, no coffee, and no snacks). Our room was nice, but it would have been better if we had air-conditioning and a fridge. The staff was very service minded. The view and the balcony were awesome. The city of Porlezza is small but has the things you need on a vacation: Beauty, the lake, a Beach, and some restaurants.

Really lovely hotel in a beautiful location, with exceptional views. Daily breakfast was great too. Only down side was the lack of air conditioning, although we did stay during the recent heatwave.

Quiet neighborhood in a small town. Right next to the lake, the room was spacious. It was a pleasant stay.

The missing Air-conditioning was the main deal breaker .
The beds were very uncomfortable ;I left with a back pain.
The wifi was really bad , unstable.
The pool is open from 10:00am to 07:00pm .All good until you realize that during the day you cannot use it too much and by the evening the staff tells you off at 07:00 sharp in a non polite manner.
Durring my stay ( june 20-27 ) I had a surprise of a construction site right next to it . Every morning 07:00 sharp the workers uill cut in iron and wood making a awfully loud noise .
No minibar in the room .
The rooms are looking awful, everything is old and works like it . On the balcony you get just twoplastic seats over-used and mini table.
Overall the worst experience I've ever had.By the end of the holiday I got so pissed that really made me hate this place .
The only good parts are: the location and the fact that the cleaning staff did a perfect job considering that the showers were not sealed properly and water will get out all over the bathroom. Nothing more , nothing less.

It was very difficult to get to this hotel, unless you drive, as the town doesn't offer taxis and we were unable to hire a driver. We ended up taking the city bus which wasn't a great option with our luggage and with the bus timetable.
The hotel itself was right on the water and five minutes to the beach. The staff was exceptional friendly and helpful.
The wifi wasn't great and the hotel didn't have air conditioning so in mid-July we had some hot nights!
Overall tho, we were quite pleased. Just ensure you are aware of the lack of taxis and no air conditioning as those things took us by surprise.

My friends and I had a pleasant time at this hotel, it is in a quiet area where locals are just across from the lake. It is an older building with very small amenities such as little bathroom space but it was sufficient enough for us for our 2 night stay. Keep In mind they have no air conditioning in the rooms at least none that we saw, however we let the windows open for a breeze and left the fans on and that kept the room cool.
The front desk employees were so kind and helpful, they suggested great places for us to eat in the local area and provided us with great service. I would definitely recommend staying here for a short time.

The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is by the shore with fantastic view of the Lake. The room has no air-conditioning inside so I had to leave the window open to get fresh air. Nice buffet breakfast is served in the morning. There is a 5 Euro charge for the parking.

The Hotel Europa is a 3 star hotel - that is fair as the rooms are adequately furnished without being luxurious. The bed we had was firm but comfortable and the ensuite a little dated but the shower was fine. Yes, air-conditioning would have been nice as we did get a couple of bites having had to leave the balcony door open overnight to keep the room cool. However, these are minor points - bottom line - the hotel was fine.
What lifts the Europa experience is the hotel staff who are totally superb on every front. Friendly, informative, welcoming, caring and efficient. The restaurant is wonderful and by far the best dining option on the Lake sea-front. A great menu and a good selection of wines etc at sensible prices. Breakfast is fine with a selection of cereals, fruits, pastries, cheeses, meats etc.
By far the most endearing quality of this hotel is it's location. If you can make sure you get a balcony room on the front of the hotel - it's worth the few extra Euros - and soak up the view down Lake Lugano which changes as the day progresses and the different light highlights different aspects of the panorama. it is stunning. Everything you will need is nearby (including an award winning gelato store opposite the ferry terminal) although the hotel has most things covered.
With easy access into Lugano itself and many other places of interest nearby this is the perfect base for a few days exploring the region.
We will be back.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We needed a few quiet days of down time during our travels and Porlezza provided that. However, we did want to take a boat trip on the lake but couldn't get tickets. The man at the tourist office was very nice but he couldn't sell tickets. The travel agency office that could was not open on Sat. afternoon or Sun. at all.

Right on the lake. Clean and comfortable. Nice restaurant. Coffee was terrible.
