Why settle for a conventional hotel when you can indulge in the refreshing ocean air, stunning 180-degree harbor views, and the gentle lull of the water?

Vela offers a unique blend of adventure and tranquility. Wake up to a morning coffee on the water, with restaurants, breweries, and nightlife just a short walk or dinghy ride away. Our boatel is not just a place to stay, but a destination in itself, offering you a private, quiet, and safe retreat.

Looking to explore the culinary delights, breweries, and shopping across the harbor and the charming Ventura Harbor Village? Simply unmoor the dinghy, rev up the engine, and glide your guests over to the dinghy dock! During the day, why not embark on a leisurely cruise through Ventura Harbor, or paddle around on one of our provided kayaks or paddle boards?

Our spacious catamaran comfortably sleeps six across three state rooms. The master suite boasts a queen-sized bed, private bathroom, shower, and desk, running the entire length of the 40 foot boat. The other two state rooms feature queen-sized beds and share access to a cozy bathroom with a shower. All rooms are equipped with hatches for fresh air and fans for those rare warm nights.

Our Salon area is a cozy hub featuring a four-seater table and a fully-equipped kitchen, all encased within panoramic windows. The kitchen is outfitted with three compact electric refrigerators, a freezer, a three-burner stove, and a gas-heated oven and an outdoor grill, perfect for whipping up a meal if you choose to dine in. A secure sliding door provides a seamless transition from the Salon to the outdoor lounge.

The outdoor lounge is a spacious haven, offering seating for approximately eight people and a large dining table. It's a sheltered space, complete with the option to lower icing glass panels for added protection against the occasional breeze. Experience the perfect blend of indoor comfort and outdoor charm aboard our boatel. For a small extra charge, stay connected with our high-speed internet access. In the evening, enjoy your favorite movie or sports game on the TV with the harbor as your backdrop.

Please note, Vela is for dockside accommodations only and guests are not permitted to sail or motor around.

We share our beautiful harbor with a friendly neighbor who calls their boat home. They cherish the serene ambiance of the harbor, just as we hope you will. We kindly ask that you respect this tranquility, making sure your stay is enjoyable and fun but not disruptive. This is a place for relaxation and peaceful enjoyment, not for loud parties. Vela is fully electric with outlets through the boat to charge phones or use your computer. Vela has high speed internet access for an extra charge.
This is for nightly stays on the harbor. Guests are not permitted to take Vela off the dock to motor around or sail. This is for dock side accommodations only. NO parties! If you are looking to bring a group of friends to party all night..., this is not the location. If you are looking to bring family or friends for a relaxing yet exciting vacation, then this is ideal for you.

We absolutely loved our time on the Vela. Our family of six stayed here for two nights and loved the adventure. We used the included kayak, SUP and motorized dinghy to explore Ventura marina. The lazy mornings, warm afternoons and beautiful sunsets were exactly what we needed. We've always loved marinas and the beach, so we didn't want to pass up the opportunity to stay on this incredible boat. Three rooms, two bathrooms and a spacious kitchen/dining room/deck gave us plenty of room with six of us... three teens, a pre-teen and two parents... had a great time. I highly recommend this boatel and we would certainly do this again. The amenities on the boat are great and there is even extra showers and restrooms available directly on-shore from the dock, if needed. Ventura marina and the surrounding area is full of great restaurants, beaches and places to explore. The owner of the Vela met us personally to show us how to use all of the boating facilities (different than your home) and made sure we were comfortable. This is excellent accommodations, more like a luxury suite than any common hotel room. Fun, relaxing and wonderful. Thank you.

Boat had all amenities. Enjoyed quiet nights and getting rocked to sleep. Dinghy was a bonus. Kids enjoyed going around the marina and harbor village.

My son and I were in Ventura for a family reunion. We live in Los Angeles but thought to make a mini vacation of it. Beautiful boat, great amenities and comfy beds. We didn’t have time to use the dingy, but will come back next year to do so. I’ve never stayed on a boat and this was an amazing experience that we will do again.
