Somerset has so many surprises waiting to be unwrapped by the inquisitive visitor and your stay will give you the opportunity to experience many special places of interest.
Glastonbury itself has few if any equals when it comes to historical interest. It’s a town where myth, magic, religion and history seamlessly interweave, with Its association as the ancient “Isle of Avalon” and with King Arthur living long in its memory.
On a clear day from the top of Glastonbury Tor the 360-degree panorama takes in a view that stretches to the legendry ‘Cadbury castle’ remains. A legend that hints is the home of King Arthurs Camelot. With views across to the borders of Wiltshire and ancient alignments travelling direct to Avebury and Stone henge.
To the South and West, the borders of Devon are just able to be seen at the edge of the horizon and on a clear day the hills of South Wales are also visible. Few views can compare with those from Glastonbury Tor so a journey to its summit is well recommended!

The history and archaeological record tell a story that runs from earliest megalithic pre-history through to bronze age, iron age, Roman, medieval and every era from then up to the present day. It was the site of the largest, richest and most powerful abbey in the world after Rome until Henry VIII brought about its destruction); the ruins of which still remain the centre-piece of the town. And to further add to the mystery of Glastonbury, the alleged tunnel system under which it travels and beyond must be one of the most intriguing of all.

There are also miles of country walks and bike rides in this historical and magical area.

We aim to make your stay as lovely as possible, and hope that it is a comfortable and memorable stay.
