Relaxing stay in Ikaria

We are so glad that we chose Olivia Villas. We rented the 3 bedroom/3 bath apartment, and it was great to have plenty of room, and everyone had their own bathroom, which is a nice luxury. The apartment was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the A/C worked well. The nespresso machine was also appreciated, as were the fruits Chrissa brought by. We loved the balcony on the top floor. Even though it was very hot, sitting out there in the morning and evenings was a daily ritual nd very relaxing. Chryssa was always available to assist, and we enjoyed chatting with her and getting tips on the area. We debated where to stay on the island, and we would definitely return to Olivia Villas and the Raches area. Agios Demetrios village was just down the street, and there were 2 great restaurants there (Sto Kambi and Platanos). There was also a traditional place a bit further down the street. Raches Christos was about a 15 minute walk uphill, and it was very lively there in both morning and evenings. We enjoyed walking up for coffee and morning snack. There were many restaurant choices there, as well. Lots of hiking trails in the area, but they were not very well maintained. My husband and son hiked down to the beach one day, and although it wasn't too hard, they came back with lots of scrapes and covered in dirt and thorns stuck to their socks. The trail from the apartment to Raches was better maintained and marked, as was the trail to Agios Yiannis church. The beaches in Armenistis area were great. We liked Mamakita beach the best - nice loungers, sandy beach (though a bit rocky when entering), fast and friendly service, clear waters. The only negative of our stay was the driving in Ikaria- all of the roads are narrow and very winding. It wouldn't keep up from returning, but definitely something to be aware of.

One of the best staying we ever had! The location and the villa+terasa+balcony were perfect home for us while discovering charming Ikaria. And above all, the hospitality and the way that Chrysa took care of all our needs made our vacation unforgettable. Highly recommended!!!

Wonderful comfortable accommodation right near village square

We liked everything about Olivia Villas …proximity to the village square was excellent where there were 2 excellent restaurants ..a short drive to the beach..everything was spotless and a very comfortable bed..very thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Perfect, relaxing stay

The location is perfect, it is away form the main tourism spots but still close to everything (Raches, Armenistis, ...). If you are looking for something quiet but not too far off, this is the place to be. The appartement had everything we needed, a balcony, a perch, and a kitchen (although we did not cook any warm meals because the restaurants nearby were simply too good). Chrysa is the perfect host, she is very welcoming and likable. She gave us lots of good tips on what to do or where to eat. We could always ask her if we had any questions.

Nothing really - perfect stay. One night we had noisy neighbors, but there is really not much the host could do about this.

It's a luxurious apartment, very clean, comfortable, and spacious.

Chrysa was waiting for us when we arrived. We had exchanged text message before our arrival. We spent four days there. Chrysa is a lovely person who helped with everything we needed. She is exceptional. The village has good restaurants and the well-deserved peace we were looking for. Close by there are grocery stores, bakery, and more restaurants, but you will need a car to get there. This part of the island has gorgeous beaches, and wild and astonishing country roads (dirt road that requires attention while driving), but nature’s splendor makes the downside of the dirty roads worth the visit. This part of the island has different landscapes that are breathtaking. If you like peace, wild nature, adventure, and hospitality stay here and drive around. Just be aware that cafes/bakery open after 9a.m. and lunch after 2p.m. It was an issue for us. But this has nothing to do with this hotel.

Terrible second bed, not for more than 2 people

Good location, nice mountain vibe

Second bed was not livable, it was made up from hard pieces of wood without a mattress and would cause back pain to anyone that tries it. The facility is NOT for more than 2 people

Ikaria is heaven on Earth and Olivia is the place to stay there.

Spacious, sparkling clean and very convently located next to some amazing restaurants and hiking trails. The owner is very accomodating and helpful.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay. This is a family owned place - Chrysa was very welcoming, friendly and responsive when contacted. She also knows the island extremely well as she lives here and therefore makes great suggestions on places to visit. The apartment is a few minutes walk to the local little village which has two restaurants (must try had some great food) a bakery and a cafe. You need a car to get around however this would be likely to completely enjoy the island. We were able to stay in 2 rooms as we had extended our stay. Both were spacious enough, clean, quiet at night, and had a kitchen with some utensils to cook if you wish. If you want to hike, there’s some great trails nearby with one that goes to Nas. I highly recommend this place and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. If you can find out when a panagiria is on, go and dance with the locals.

Perfect

Chrysa Koiliari, the manager/owner of the villas, was always available to help with any queries we might have about this excellent accommodation well before we arrived. She was attentive to our questions and answered our queries thoroughly and almost immediately. It cannot get better than a charming, stone cottage of ones own for three women each with her own double bedroom and bathroom nestled in the quiet village of Agio Dimitrios, ten minutes away from the beach. The village itself was straight out of a fairytale book and the cuisine...so amazing! it is to be tasted to be believed. And so economical. Loved our stay in Ikaria and Ms Chrysa made it all the more special with her kindness, and good cheer; lovely, clean house with beautiful views and not to mention, bottle of wine and fresh fruit on arrival! We're definitely coming back.
