Perched in an elevated position, this home offers you an unparalleled connection to nature, with a wall of windows showcasing the serene river as it meanders through the picturesque landscape. Step out onto the charming deck to watch the meadow grass sway and the cows graze across the river, all while soaking in the tranquility of your surroundings.

Just a 10-minute drive from the renowned Cape Kiwanda, you'll find endless opportunities for adventure. Marvel at the iconic Haystack Rock, watch surfers conquer the waves, or witness dory boats bringing in fresh catches for the local market. Savor a craft beer at the Pelican Pub, indulge in fine dining at Meridian Restaurant, or enjoy a leisurely walk along the shoreline to Bob Straub State Park and the river’s estuary.

Inside River House Escape, the second-floor great room welcomes you with vaulted ceilings, abundant natural light, and breathtaking river views. Unwind in the comfort of plush recliners and a cozy sofa, or gather around the TV and gas fireplace for a relaxing evening. The fully equipped kitchen is a chef's delight, ready to cater to your culinary needs with a dining table and a breakfast bar on the tiled island.

The main level features a queen master bedroom with sliding doors that open to the riverfront deck, offering a private haven for rest and relaxation. Upstairs, two additional bedrooms—one with a queen bed and another with a bunk bed for three—each have their own TVs, share a full bath, and provide captivating views of the fields and ocean. The living room couch is also a pullout couch and can sleep 1-2 guests (best suited for two children or one adult).

Embrace the riverside lifestyle with your own private dock, perfect for launching kayaks or enjoying a peaceful afternoon of fishing. Venture out on Route 871 to explore the pristine beaches of Tierra del Mar, the majestic dunes of Sandlake, and the awe-inspiring vistas of Cape Lookout.

This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.

PET FRIENDLY: **There is a $100 pet fee per pet with a maximum of $300 (3 pets). Although we are pet-friendly please note your pet must not be left unattended at the house without you present, even if in a crate/kennel. Failure to adhere to the house rules as it pertains to pets may result in cancellation of the booking with no refund. **

A great space that could accommodate our whole family. Very clean and had everything we needed! Loved the dock and river access. We’ll be back!

The house is beautiful. The pictures are spot on. The kithen was well appointed with lovely appliances and cooking tools. The coffee maker was well appreciated, as it could brew a carafe or kcups. The view in front was a beautiful field and barn, where we watched geese landing and listened to many different birds. The view in back was of the river and a field of milk cows. We sat on the deck and soaked in the peaceful setting. The beds were comfortable and the linens and blankets were top quality. The bathrooms were beautiful and well lit with nice towels. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided. The hosts were in contact during the stay. The only thing that was a distraction was the traffic on the road, which is only 20 ft. from the house. It could be loud at times, and the trucks sometimes shook the house (upstairs anyway). It was mentioned in other reviews and, as it cant be changed, I didnt let it bother me. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay with our family and we would come back in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay at the River House Retreat. It was a clean, comfortable space and a great value for our family. This house had so much to offer with engaging views, games and puzzles, and comfortable furniture. We all enjoyed watching the cows in the field and the ducks in the river, as well as the majestic blue heron. We also had fun putting together one of the many jigsaw puzzles during our stay. We also appreciated the open floor plan in the living room, dining room, kitchen area. Although the house was not right on the beach, it was a very short drive from a grocery store and a couple of restaurants, and only a couple of miles from downtown Pacific City, and the price was very affordable. There was also a complimentary bottle of Oregon pinot noir provided!
