Huge polo field below to enjoy stargazing or fetch with your dog.
Horseshoe pit and hammock also available on grounds.

This is a truly unique area set in the Mendocino National Forest. We are off the grid here and fully operating on Solar Power in the summer. Way less crowded then Lake Sonoma and Tahoe but still within 4.5hrs hours of Bay Area. A good excuse to escape social media and traffic for a weekend!

All roads are dirt and slightly paved the last hour in. Drive with caution. Bring your bikes, boat or kayaks for more access to adventure during your stay. Always stay at about 15mph within the gated Ranch area.
Similar to camping list ,Pack: Bring smore's, flashlights ,cameras, bug spray, binoculars, ice for coolers, beach chairs and maps. Pack clothing for all types of weather. Pack all of your food for your stay. Only store is 15 minutes away and it's a bait, ice and beer kind of store. Grocery store is an hour and half away.
Remember there is no cell/internet service!!! You will feel so free without it. We have landline for emergencies.
Guest access
Attn: If you are not familiar with the Lake Pillsbury Basin area please be aware that it is over an hour long dirt road to the area from town/ stores and restaurants. Due to recent Mendocino Complex Fire & August Complex Fire we lost half of our beloved forest. It does not directly effect the area where your accommodations are located but some trails are burned out. Our area remains in great condition along with the lake shore and Elk Habitats, mainly damage on Hull Mt.
We have a beautiful lodge and cabins nestled up in the hills of Lake Pillsbury Ranch. Our historical Lodge holds many old Hollywood Memrobilia from past owners, Jackie Gleason & Jack Hailey. We love to give our guests a tour before the day of departure. Our property rests on about 40acres of pines and oaks. Inside the ranch gates we share with about 200 other homes. Our property is the largest and most spacious on the Ranch.
You will have access to the pond(April-July) (10 minute walk from doorstep) lots of beautiful creeks and gravelly roads/trails to stroll along. Our property lies face to face with the stunning Hull Mountain. A nice drive up (with a sturdy vehicle) to Hull would take about 1 1/2hours from our property.
Lake Pillsbury is only a 15minute drive away to enjoy boating, fishing and kayaking. The historical Bloody Rock hike Trail Head only 40 minute drive from cabins.
++Once inside the gate use of ORV's or any motorized vehicles is forbidden.
++The speed limit is 15mph inside the ranch
Other things to note
Plan Ahead with:
All of the food you plan to have for stay, ample coolers with ice to store it, flashlights&lanterns, layers of clothes for shifts in weather, handy mosquito and sunscreen, and plenty of H20 for daily adventures!!! (Our water is safe to drink out of tap) Bikes and kayaks are welcome too!
*** This cabin provides a charcoal grill w/charcoal or a propane with1 mini tank attached per weekend.
**We have a great snack, beer and ice store down the road at Soda Creek(15 min) and another general mini store at Lake Pillsbury camp Resort (20minutes away) if you need anything.
Since we currently are off the grid please remember to plan accordingly. We will provide you our personal landline for emergencies to be reached at.
Print out all maps, directions, gate code and activities for handy use before arrival.
**We have been experiencing a lot of County issued -RED FLAG WARNING DAYS summers and fall- Which means it's likely that Fire Pits will be banned on certain days- this is out of our control and we must comply.
