About this house rental

Welcome to our home in Glenwood Springs, located at an elevation of 5700 feet and set along the banks of the Roaring Fork River in one of the greatest small towns in western Colorado!

Glenwood Springs and the greater Roaring Fork Valley offer numerous activities depending on the season, including skiing, gold-medal fishing, hiking, kayaking, golfing, cycling, and rafting. Good restaurants are numerous, the scenery is spectacular, and one of the world’s largest outdoor hot springs is located just minutes away! In the winter, we often enjoy wonderful powder skiing at both the friendly local ski area, Ski Sunlight (just 20 minutes from the house), and at the world-class area of Aspen/Snowmass, less than 40 miles up-valley. Vail lies 60 miles to the east, accessed by Interstate 70. The climate here is truly wonderful; we enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine every year, and the crystal-clear skies that follow a snowfall are unforgettable.

Our home is situated on the south end of town next to the Rio Grande bike trail, and it’s an easy 45 minute drive “up-valley” to the communities of Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen/Snowmass. Downtown Glenwood is a few minutes by car or an easy bike ride away.

Our home is on three levels which are connected by a central stairway. The main level is where we spend most of our time. It has an open floor plan consisting of a contemporary kitchen, living room, dining room, and a half bath. Architectural windows, wood floors and a stone-fronted gas fireplace all add to the contemporary-casual feel of the home.

The ample master suite lies on the upper level (with extra privacy) and has a queen-size bed and bathroom with dual vanities and a separate bathtub and shower. It is attached to an accessory greenhouse, which is a lovely spot for for warming up on cool mornings with morning coffee. There is also an adjacent rooftop terrace area for stargazing at night.

The lower level offers two bedrooms, each having a queen-size bed with down comforters and sliding doors to access the lower deck. One of the bedrooms also includes a twin-sized bed, best suited for littles! The Family Room is quite large and has a large HDTV, a great selection of books, games, puzzles, and ample seating. A large shared bath, dedicated work space, and laundry are also located downstairs.

Outside, the house is surrounded by gardens and trees which give a feeling of privacy and calm. There are multiple spaces for relaxing, dining, and enjoying the outdoors.

A canopy-covered deck on the main living area offers a propane grill, a seating area and small dining table that is easily accessed through a sliding glass door from the dining room. This is where you can enjoy time seeing white-water rafts and fishermen in dories float by, watching birds, and listening to the rush and flow of the Roaring Fork River.

On the large lower-level deck, you’ll find a table with seating for 6, a porch swing, a propane-fuelled fire table and a 4-person hot tub. An exterior staircase connects the main level deck to the lower deck.

We have an attached garage which is suitable for parking one car and storing bikes, skis, golf clubs and similar gear. On-street parking is also available. You may need to use the snowblower and/or shovels to clear the short driveway if visiting during the winter.

Our home is 22 years old and has been well-cared for. We invite you to relax, enjoy your stay and treat our home as you would yours.
