About this apartment rental
Located in the rustic village of Carroz d'Araches, just a stones throw from the centre, the Residence Les Fermes du Soleil, is a luxury residence offering cosy, comfortable accommodation. The apartment has a large balcony overlooking the ice rink, swimming pool and over the village with views to the mountains. The closest ski lift is 800m away, accessed via a free shuttle bus which stops just outside the residence. Les Carroz d'Araches nestles into a wonderful natural setting of snow-capped mountaintops, providing the perfect location to enjoy miles of fantastic skiing to suit all abilities. The village is the proud guardian of an exciting religious, historical and gastronomic heritage, therefore not a purpose built ski resort, but an all year round French village. Easy access to supermarkets, bars and restaurants.

Property was ideal. Very comfortable for our family of 4. Ideally situated for restaurants and the New Year entertainment. We used the ski bus to get up to the gondola in the morning but walked home each night which wasn't too bad. We'd definitely book again if back in Les Carroz.

The information on the site is incorrect. I booked the apartment expecting 2 toilets, which is not correct. This is false and misleading advertising. It is one reason I booked the apartment as I was staying with a male friend and we wanted our own facilities. The apartment needs attention to the electrics, ie oven/microwave, lights. Bedding clean but worn and needed replacing., Ripped duvet and couldn't be closed.

Great stay
A really good location, and metres away from swimming pool, ice rink, town Square and mini supermarket. The supermarket is very convenient to have on door step but you do pay inflated ski resort prices for the pleasure. We heard that the SuperU down the valley was the place to stock up but a car will be needed. Gondola up the mountain was a 10min walk up the hill in shoes, I highly recommend the heated lockers at the gondola to keep your ski gear overnight, a must if you have kids. Like most ski apartments, it's not massive but perfectly fine for the 4 of us, we didn't spend much time in it. It's very clean with everything we needed and the host Annabel was great with communication and understanding when our plans were touch and go due to Covid. No hesitation staying there again.

Appartement de montagne tout confort
Nous avons passé une superbe semaine dans cet appartement tout confort. Les photos et la description du logement sont conformes à l’annonce, il n’y a aucune mauvaise surprise. La décoration et le bois donnent une ambiance chaleureuse, il est parfaitement situé, à quelques mètres du centre ville et à quelques secondes d’un petit carrefour pour faire les courses.
Il est très bien aménagé et équipé, propre et la literie est très confortable. L’accès à l’espace piscine/jacuzzi/sauna est très appréciable après une journée dans la neige ! La place de parking est un réel avantage !
Petit plus pour la sympathie de la propriétaire avec qui la communication a été parfaite !

Une excellente semaine très agréable et très ensoleillée, on a bien profité des activités de proximité avec piscine et jacuzzi, luge d été, accrobranche et randonnées, sorties au restaurant...

Appartement agréable
Appartement décoré ambiance montagne avec tout le confort nécessaire. Nous avons apprécié de bénéficier de deux salles de bains et aussi d’une cafetière Nespresso. La grande terrasse était également appréciable, ainsi que la proximité du centre-ville à pied.
La procédure d’arrivée était très simple et rapide. Par contre, nous avons eu uniquement contact avec la propriétaire par message.

Very nice flat in a very nice house in a very nice village!
The flat is cosy, well located and equipped with everything you need. The check-in by picking up the key in the key box is quite practical for late arrivals. If anything, a bigger laundry rack for drying swimming wear on the terrace would be handy. Thanks a lot, Annabel!
Nice trips around Les Carroz: Lac de L'Airon (easy walk) and Mont Blanc panorama via cable car from Flaine (Grandes platieres).

The property and location were as described. Very convenient for the main Les Carroz square, buses to the telecabine main ski lift and supermarket. The property was quiet, with plenty of hot water and towels provided. Much appreciated after a days skiing! Difficult to find any fault with the property or information provided by the owner. Only minor detail was the information folder in the apartment could do with an update ref door access codes and what tv channels are available to view. Hope to book again soon.

Great location
Good communication with the owner. Very close to all amenities in town , shops restaurants etc. Small 2 bedroom apartment - fine for us and 2 x teenagers. Pool and sauna on site. Easy walk to ski lift - they have lockers to hire at the main ski lift so don’t have to carry your skis. We’ve been to Les Carroz a few times - lovely small town with lots to do - fun NYE party on the square, great skiing in the area

Cosy little apartment with all you need included.
Loved this apartment perfect for a family of 4. Not far from free ski bus and so close to village and lovely restaurants. Having the pool, sauna and jacuzzi a real treat! We were lucky with the snow so a wonderful weeks holiday.also the new Carfor supermarket so close was perfect for bread and pain au chocolate fresh every day !

Good apartment in a great location.
We spent a week here in February 2019 with three kids. The apartment is ideally located in the town centre, close to ski bus pick up and drop off points. It was clean and well equipped with essentials. There is an ice rink outside which was a big hit the the kids. We also loved the pool in the basement area, which was a delight after a hard day on the slopes. Friendly and helpful host also gave us lots of useful information in advance. Sad to leave it all behind.

- Annabel (owner) altijd snel met reactie (bij vragen) / Sue, local support, was snel ter plekke
- appartement was goed verwarmd (alleen hoe de verwarming in te stellen was niet duidelijk)
- mooi groot balkon aan de zuidzijde (.... als de zon schijnt)
Min punten:
- onze komst was niet voorbereid (er was niet vooraf schoongemaakt/geen schone lakens / hand doeken, maar werd snel geregeld)
- foto's geven ook indrukken van andere apartementen (zo ook deze links op de beoordelings site)
- aanduiding op de advertentie site geeft een indruk dat het op een andere plaats in het dorp is
- de 2 enkele bedden in de kleine slaapkamer zijn aan de korte kant voor volwassenen

Really nice apartmnent in a great village
We have just returned from a very enjoyable week in this apartment. The apartment was a very good size for a family of 4 (a lot bigger than some other apartments for 4/6 people). There was also plenty of storage space. The apartment was clean and well-equipped - we ate in every morning and most evenings and found we had everything we needed. Having access to a pool and sauna was particularly useful on the day that we were rained off. The apartment is close to the centre of the village as you can cut across the square with the ice rink and go up a few stairs to find yourself in the main village square. That will also take you past the local supermarket which is about 50 yards from the door. Bus A returns you to just outside the main entrance to the block (3rd stop from the telecabine) and you could pick up the bus from there as well (although you would go on a bit of a lap of the village). We used to walk to the main stop at the office du tourisme (on the main village square) having left our skis and boots in the lockers at the telecabine (thoroughly recommended).
Les Carroz was a great village - big enough to have a few restaurants and bars (and even a range of craft beers in the Grizzly) and all the relevant services but small enough that you still felt like you were in a mountain village. The ski area was very good. We were lucky that we had excellent snow cover which meant that all the bowls were full of skiing and all the village runs were open and well-covered. The local tree-lined runs came into their own when the cloud descended.
I'd very happily stay at this apartment and in Les Carroz again.

We had a fantastic sunny week in a lovely friendly resort. The apartment has everything we needed very well equipped and cosy warm , home from home. The use of the pool/ hot tub/ sauna were a real bonus so too was advice to book ski locker at cable car!! Perfect very happy family holiday!!!

Lovely
We stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks with our 3 kids (12,9,8) with 2 in the second bedroom and one using the new sofa bed. We found the apartment both comfortable and practical. We hired a car from Geneva and used it to store the skis and boots and drove it to the lift every day - having the parking space really helped as the boots did not freeze overnight! Carroz is a beautiful resort with nice bars and restaurants and fantastic skiing, although not ski-in-ski-out Annabel's apartment is perfectly situated for accessing all the resort has to offer and combined with the access to the pool, sauna and steam rooms is the ideal place to stay - even with 3 kids!

Great area for a summer break
Lovely base for a summer holiday. Lots of walks of varying challenge right from the village; white water rafting and mountain biking/scootering also locally; short drive from the Mont Blanc range with various great options for sightseeing there. Apartment very well equipped and nicely presented; compact but perfectly big enough for our family with two adult kids.

Great Apartment
Stayed here February half term and was perfect for our family of 4. Exactly as the description says a cozy, compact apartment and a perfect location for a weeks Skiing. We hired a heated locker at the telecabin and walked there each morning but the Ski bus does stop outside the apartments. Very central for everything and we didn't need to use our car at all during the week. The Apartment is close to the Ice rink which it overlooks and there is a very short walk to the swimming pool and local shops. We would definitely stay here again and the owners were very helpful in arranging everything.
