This is a beautiful and charming bright 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of the hustle and bustle of popular Stockbridge Village, known as the City Village and one of Edinburgh's most sought after addresses only a 10-15 min stroll from Princes Street. It is a beautifully renovated bright flat with tasteful finishing’s retaining all the charm of the Georgian era as well as a cosy living flame fire, working shutters, original art work and rugs adding to the many comforts making it a perfect home for a short stay. Even the acclaimed Stockbridge Restaurant and old classics such as the Antiquary and Baillie are quite literally on your doorstep. The apartment is located on famous St Stephen Street, just above Mr Purves’s Old lamp shop in a two storey B listed Georgian building

This jewel of an apartment could not be better located. You can walk everywhere, but all you need is right there. The space is clean and bright, with lots of sunshine coming through the windows. The kitchen is perfectly appointed; the bedrooms worked out well for us.

Great location! Laura communicated with us throughout our stay and answered all of our questions. She also gave us some great recommendations of things to do and places to eat near the apartment. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Laura even left us some snacks! If we ever return to Edinburgh, we will stay here again!

We had a wonderful time in Edinburgh and this apartment was perfect for us. Spacious, clean and quiet. Laura and Maureen were terrific hosts and we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit. Easy to get to all the fun things to do near the Royal Mile either by walking or by bus. There is a bus stop very close by and plenty of restaurants too. Beds were comfortable, the living room was nice and sunny and the apartment even has a washing machine. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our visit!

The location of the appartement is great to visit Edimburgh.It is walking distance from many great areas.
The only draw back is the door on the main level of the building. When people want to get in or out the building they have to slam the door and this is quite disturbing especially at night or early morning.
Also, the furniture in the living room is outdated so it is not confortable at all. So for the price paid, I was expecting a more confortable furniture in the living room and also the chairs of the dining table are cheap quality.

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the extra added touches the host provided such as fruit, milk, fresh flowers etc. The flat is well equipped and in close proximity to bus stops, grocery and coffee shops.

This bright and airy flat is located on a charming Stockbridge street, steps away from bookstores, pubs and boutiques. The checkin process was seamless. The property manager met us at the door and walked us through the flat. Our host was kind, thoughtful and responsive, and our family group had a wonderful stay. We would return in a heartbeat!

We loved our stay here. The location in beautiful Stockbridge is ideal-we loved lunch at Hamilton’s around the corner, and Scottish cheddar from the nearby cheese shop. Laura, our host was so easy to work with and answered our messages promptly; Catriona met us at the apartment, showed how to use the heat and the shower (complex), and left us with milk for coffee in the morning. The apartment was sunny, comfortable and clean; the bed was comfortable. We will return!

Such a lovely property. From the time we booked several months prior to our stay, all the way until check-in, the owner stayed in touch. The apartment is well furnished, very clean and well-kept. It’s in a wonderful location close to shops, restaurants and the Edinburgh Castle/Royal Mile area, as well as museums and art galleries.

We travelled with our 2 teenage children (14 and 17) to Edinburgh and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laura’s. Communication and checkin were excellent. Stockbridge is a fabulous place to stay. Easy to walk everywhere and gorgeous pubs/restaurants all around. We would definitely return.

The accommodation was amazing. The apartment was comfortable and had everything you could need, and Laura was lovely so you knew you would be able to contact her for anything. It was in the perfect location and easy to walk to anywhere you would want to go.

We were welcomed to the apartment with flowers, milk, juice, and snacks. A very nice surprise. The apartment was charming. Its location was perfect for us with a splendid restaurant immediately next door (SKUA) and others within an easy walk. The entire Stockbridge area is delightful. We found it easiest to use a taxi to get 3 of us up to the Royal Mile although it could be walked.
For those concerned with such things, be aware that there are 38 steps up to the apartment. Also, the bedroom configuration is probably best for a couple with 2 children or 2 friends of average height. The second bedroom is quite tight and its twin beds are not well suited to those who are 6 feet or taller.

Loved, loved, loved the flat. Two bedrooms - roomy, airy and light. The two bedrooms backed onto a green space, so we slept to the sound of rustling leaves - so restful.
Kitchen is perfectly appointed and the living room was spacious with plenty of seating.
Laura was fantastic to deal with - lots of helpful suggestions and very accommodating. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is a great place. I really enjoyed the rental and wish I would have planned a longer stay. My family loved it. The place was immaculate and the owner was great. The location is excellent. We walked everywhere. Even walked to Murrayfield to see a concert. I would definitely suggest this unit and location to friends. All the people were really nice throughout Edinburgh.

The location of this flat was great. We could walk to almost all of the main attractions in Edinburgh. The owner was great to work with. She communicated well and responded to our questions promptly. They provided everything we needed and included flowers, coffee, shortbread cookies and even arranged for us to check in a bit early.

The flat was comfortable and cozy with a lot of information available on Edinburgh and Scotland. Comfortable beds and amazing linens. Lots of steps up to the flat, but a great view of the street and all the local shops. Centrally located, it was easy to get around the entire city.

Our stay at Laura Findlayson's flat in Old Town, Edinburgh could not have been better. This apartment was utterly charming - beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable - with modern amenities in the updated bathroom and kitchen. Laura was the consummate hostess - meeting us at the property at just the time we arrived, showing us around the apartment and explaining how everything worked. She had already put fresh tulips in a vase, left us milk in the fridge and fresh fruit and shortbread cookies (as well as tea and coffee) in the kitchen. The place was immaculately clean and oh, so comfortable. With huge windows that look out on the Old Town streets, it was the perfect blending of new and old world charm to make our visit wonderful. I wanted to stay forever! There are plenty of shops and restaurants right on the same street to get you started on your visit. It's a fairly easy walk from the Waverly train station and a comfortable walk to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. Our three days here were the best part of our two week visit to London and Scotland. Thank you, Laura, for a great experience. I will definitely look you up when we return to Scotland!

The flat was right in the heart of Stockbridge beside plenty of shops and bars and just a 10 minute walk from George Street. Very well presented and a comfortable place to spend a few days when in Edinburgh. Laura and Catriona were very easy to deal with and we will hopefully stay again when we are back in Edinburgh.

Lovely apartment but really needed a deep clean. Misleading advertisement as it sleeps 4 in 2 rooms, one double, one twin room. There were 3 in my party, yet we were hit with an "extra guest" charge??? The lady who met us was lovely, showed me around and asked if we could keep the noise down in the stairwell as they had had problems with another guest. No problem at all, but then I received a text message of the owner who asked again for us to please keep the noise down in the stairwell, which was unnecessary. We had no intention of getting drunk and causing chaos in the building. The rugs in the living room also made the floor really slippery, and the television didn't turn on or off with the remote control, you had to go in the cupboard and turn it off at the switch. My towel was also covered in bleach stains and should not have been used for a paying guest. The owner left a lovely welcome pack which was very much appreciated, however, I felt like I had already paid for it myself with the "extra guest" charge!!!

The area has a real village feel to it. Lovely walk along the water of Leith to Dean village. Also plenty of restaurants and bars for a good night out, better to book in advance as they get very busy

Very nice well-appointed flat with adequate supplies for a short stay. The neighborhood is very quiet, but has a few eating places within a quarter mile radius. The Royal Mile and the railway station are about a 20 minute walk away with many more restaurants and cafes within a mile of the property.
