We will not choose to stay at a Spark again if given the opportunity to choose otherwise. As Hilton seems to be taking o
The proximity to Mystic Seaport, the aquarium and 95 north
Considering the Hilton in Freeport Maine costs about $80 less and the accommodations are far superior. We are Hilton Honors members and generally choose a property in the system. We expected Spark location to be up to usual standards The elevator was broken and has been since May, ice buckets need to be obtained from the desk, fire alarm went off with evacuation necessary but no information given from staff as to when to return to the rooms. The room was clean but not well set up. Tissue paper thin bedding and minimal accessories We now realize that Spark may be your economy stay level of service but it is. not at an economy price. Freeport Maine is also a tourist area.

Would stay somewhere else next time.
The hotel is close to the aquarium. The fridge in the room was convenient. Staff was friendly. Free WiFi.
The elevator was broken ( and apparently has been for the past two months). This prevented us from bringing in all of our belongings, which was annoying. The breakfast room was in a weird upstairs location. Since the elevator was out of service, you had to walk up a flight of stairs to get breakfast. The actual hotel room was very small, especially the bathroom. The sink could not even fit in the bathroom so it was located next to the closet in the bedroom area. The color scheme of the hotel was strange- purples and yellows. Pool is outdoors. It is heated but because of the rain, we couldn’t try it out. Also it’s in an odd location- fenced in the parking lot.

This is 100% a budget hotel, borderline motel - not worth the $300+ per night fee
Location
- there was a strong smell of mold as you entered the front desk/lobby area - the room was clean, but there was a sewage smell that emanated from the toilet throughout the night, it was awful - the light above of the sink didn’t work properly and kept going out (also the sink was in the actual room and not the bathroom so that was a little weird) - the bedding was uncomfortable, the blanket felt like a heavy napkin and was an strange gauze-like material - the elevator was down the entire time (2 nights, 3 days) but we were on the second so not an issue for us, but wondered what elderly or handicapped people did) - we booked a King room and were given a room with 2 double beds, so it was uncomfortable sleeping in such a small bed - front desk said the room would NOT have an adjoining room, but it did - as other guests left their rooms, they would let the doors slam closed and the pictures on the wall above our heads would shake - there was really no other choice but for the room to be frigid, if you turned the temp up it would cause the heat to turn on - our floor had a “bagel bar” which consisted of low-quality garbage bagels similar to Lender’s

Conrad wouldn’t approve
Nice grounds
Better walkups to the access doors. Put in walkways. No elevator. Customer service was lacking: no extra blankets available, hot water wasn’t available for making tea, customer service was clueless

Good for the price. Breakfast included was also good, nice bagels and juice.
Good value for money. Room was a good size. A strange smell in the room, not sure if it was musty or something, this was the only negative, otherwise great location if visiting mystic. Would recommend for a short stay.
Reception on checkin was not that friendly. But checkout reception staff were very nice.
