The Orchid is our "go to" stay on Hawaii!

The Gold experience is just as good as it has been on previous stays. The Team is friendly and goes out of their way to make our stay exceptional.

Location, Details, Friendly staffs

Such a relaxing, beautiful resort with all the details that you can feel they’re the top-tier resort. So much to do in this hotel: swimming pools, private beach, golf course, and spa.

Foods options are a little limited.

Some wonderful aspects, but fell a little short for a family stay

The welcome was great! The room was very nice! Luxury linens and custom bath products were great. We liked the guy who led us in an ocean snorkel experience.

It would have been better to have prompt service in the restaurant by the pool. It took 20 minutes for initial contact and another 20 minutes for fish and chips and a very generic cheese pizza. The pool could use some fun features. After the unusual wonderful welcome, the service level changed as we encountered less unhelpful people around the property and even at the concierge desk. Our ocean snorkel activity was after our room checkout and there was only an outdoor shower available to us on the facility. Overall we had a slightly less safe feeling as a family than in other resorts with kids. I think it’s a good place for couples but maybe not for older kids, but also not worth the cost.

Need more open umbrellas for shade by pool and open for a longer duration end of the day. No water slides.

Beautiful resort, on the pricey side with lots of extra's to pay for if you want more comfort.

Beautiful garden, pool, beach, and facilities. All is well-kept and taken care of. Nice choice of restaurants, some with live music.

The upselling - for simple things like proper shade on the beach and snorkeling equipment beyond one hour you pay extra. For the price we spend on the room, we expected these items to be included. On top of that the SPA and the restaurants are all on the pricey side. We were placed next to a service room which was very noisy every morning, we complained and got a small compensation upon check-out. Well handled, but could have been avoided.

perfect in every way.

The Fairmont Orchid is a stunning property. the accommodations were comfortable and plenty of amenities. we were gold guests and hotel staff was incredible… the lagoon has one of the best beaches!!! will be back again and again.

Way overpriced for what you get - 4 start at best

great location

Nice hotel, but a bit outdated. Not sure why it's 5 star - maybe in the past it deserved such a rating. We were very much looking forward to a luxury experience, but it was no better than some of the lesser rated properties in the area. Not worth the price at all. We will never return.

The property was gorgeous but the restaurants and amenities were extremely expensive. Guests who come to the property without a car are forced to pay exorbitant prices after paying hotel fees and other costs to stay at this very beautiful property. Regular middle class people cannot afford a vacation at this beautiful place.

The beauty and relaxation of this property. The staff were mostly friendly and very helpful.

We liked that it was near the other resorts, had a nice beach.

This property is extremely run down. The staff is rude, the rooms are not clean and ours had a hole in the wall, mildew and water gushing from the drywall from some kind of leak. we told the staff and they offered zero compassion or assistance. The poor koi fish swim in dirty water that they can’t even see through. The restaurants are overpriced and just ok at best. We ended up spending all of our time at other resorts. it’s so so sad how far downhill this once amazing place has become.

Pretty good, but wanted more for the cost

The pool and beach were amazing! The beach is man made so you can get drink service, and you can also rent a cabana if you want shade from the sun. 1 hour of snorkeling was included in the resort fee, so we went easily every day. The restaurants are also very good, the Binchotan grill and Browns beach house are wonderful.

The rooms need to be updated, the walls were so so thin and there was some water damage in the base boards. Nothing too crazy, but for the price point and Fairmont brand I expected much better. There was also a HUGE conference/group the week we stayed, which totally changed our experience because we had to stress about getting reservations for dinner or a spot at the pool - it also left a lot of the facilities understaffed for that many people so food or drink too forever and our poor servers were quite stressed.

Honeymoon at Fairmont Orchid

We were upgraded to Oceanfront room for an additional 100 dollars and it was an excellent choice. The view was absolutely stunning and the best view I've ever had from the hotel room! I saw a variety of fish (sadly not turtles) when snorkeling and the dinner at Browns was delicous and eating while watching the sunset was so memorable and romantic (though pricey). I would like to recommend this place for those considering honeymoon.

Dinner at Browns was expensive though delicous. I only stayed for one night, wished I could have stayed for one more day.
