Best staff I have encountered in a long time! Very friendly and accommodating when asked for assistance, and will definitely stay here again if I am in the Norfolk area.
The first room we were assigned had some air conditioning issues and we needed to be reassigned to a different (but better) room. Only one elevator was operating which made traveling within the hotel difficult.

Good location in relation to where I needed to go.
The bed was dirty. It had sand in it. There was a leak in the ceiling. The water tap in the shower dropped.

Location was good for us
My pillow case was visibly dirty, no mattress pad, bed was old & not very comfortable. Breakfast wasn’t very good

The Front Desk Receptionist/Guest Services was very polite and helpful when we checked in Saturday evening. Our room was clean. The breakfast that Sunday morning overall was pretty good. Also when we checked out (Late Sunday Morning) the Front Desk was very helpful also.
Well, w had the handicap accessible room. We didn't need it nor request it, but it could have been all they had left regarding what we had booked..not sure. Now, I admit that was a little irritating bc the shower was not a regular tub and shower (understandably bc it's for special assistance or needs) so it was walk-in. But water was flowing all on the floor...before I even used it. That was kind of messy and the shower curtain was drawn. All of this was noticed BEFORE I started my shower. The small piece that was a "barrier" to keep the water "in" was honestly useless. It was not sturdy...and it could honestly make someone fall. I just used a VERY large towel (the full bath towel) to keep the floor neat/dry before I started my shower.
The hotel didn't seem slammed or packed bc breakfast in the morning was a breeze (I went like 7:30am or 7:45ish (it's only 2hrs now)
That was my main gripe, was the way the shower was set up. I'll make sure I say respectfully no handicap accessible room please.

Did not stay at the property. They did not have a room for us. Sent us to another hotel and paid for 1 night. I had 2 small children with me with special needs and bouncing between hotels was disturbing for them.

I had signed up for 2 queen beds and when I arrived got a room with a King size bed. The pullout couch was very difficult to set up (initially I thought it was broken). I don’t know if that was a Booking.com error or hotel error. Also, there was no hair dryer in the room and no regular coffee when we went down for breakfast. A little disappointing for the money that we spent.

Breakfast was fine but we had an issue with water not draining in the tub. We were told someone would fix it but it the issue was not fixed until right before checkout time. We were promised a refund that we never received, also the pool was “closed”.
The staff apologized but ultimately were not helpful as the issue was not resolved until it was too late

Plenty of space for our fam of 5. Beds were ok for one night. Two separate beds AND baths were great! It was nice to have a full kitchen. Front desk employees were fantastic! Super helpful & personable.
Sadly, the common area furniture (chair & sofa) in the room was in need of a very deep cleaning. There was no bedding for the sleeper sofa, even if there had been we wouldn’t have slept on it as there was leftover cereal from past guests in it.

cleanliness of the suit was stale and musty torn, stained, worn out carpet & furniture. Air conditioning wasn’t working properly so we had to keep room door open to circulate air. Very disappointing because it was for my 50th birthday weekend.

My room was missing a few small things (dish soap, bottle opener) and the couch was awful- dirty, seemingly broken somehow cause it had a slant to it, and no pillows.

Great location to cruise ship and facility was nice
Disappointed with lack of towels. We had 5 family members staying and only received 2 towels. When we asked for more towels - we were provided with more. Also there were no towels at the pool.

Best room we stayed in on our trip. Had a nice size living room and kitchen area. Bedroom and bathroom were excellent. Breakfast was acceptable.

The lobby was very inviting and the staff was friendly and courteous. The buffet breakfast was adequate but I'm not sure it was worth the additional cost.
Our room was spacious but the carpet was dated. The sofa and chairs were all too low to the ground which made it difficult to get up and down from them. The cushions of the sofa sunk down into the frame so it was not very comfortable. My chief complaint was the description of its location. A fifteen minute walk to the waterfront was not what we were expecting after reading the description of its location online. We thought we would be a block or two away at the most. The bathroom floor was treacherous after using the shower. There was nothing to prevent water from pooling on the floor which in turn made it very slippery.

I normally stay here when i attend the Hampton Jazz Fest at the end of June, The staff were great as usual and the hotel was clean
I didn’t like that there weren’t any carts to move our belongings from the car to the room, Also as we were walking thu the lobby to the elevators, We noticed that the furniture that was so attractive at one time was so dirty. One of the reasons i travel from the Hampton area where my friends seek hotels to Norfolk to the Residence inn  is because of how Beautiful and well maintained it use to be. Also in my room the very in the bedroom had black soot or something blown on the ceiling in front of it. And the toilet kept running at times when it was flushed. Lastly the mini market near the front desk was out of everything. I hope this helps to bringing that wonderful hotel back to form. Starting with that eye sore walking thu the lobby looking at dirty furniture. It’s not a good look for The Marriott

There is no daily housekeeping.
The parking garage said that the hotel validated the parking, but that wasn't true. Parking should be included with your stay. I have never paid for parking and I travel a lot!

Staff was super nice & helpful! The beds were comfortable! Room was very clean minus the smell but the rest of the hotel smelled amazing! The lobby is beautiful and smells/looks very clean at all times!
Room smelled like cigarettes! Lots of things didn't work in our room..lights, the water temperature got cold quickly, the TV didn't work.

Location was excellent! We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see - USS Wisconsin, Chrysler Art Museum, waterfront and plenty of good restaurants. Beds were comfortable, facility was clean.

Not much- other than it was close to my conference site and the zoo for the kids.
The room had dirty dishes, the tub was broken and the pool had gross floating things in it and I didn't want my kids swimming in it.

the only thing I’d change is that the TVs in the rooms are very out of date and couldn’t run our Apple TV programs or fire stick and I think the pool and Hot tub should be open a little later

Location was great. Easy to walk to most attractions. Many restaurants within a few blocks. The woman serving breakfast, Dee, was very friendly and helpful.
Room was well worn; stains on the carpeting and couch, microwave door handle was broken. Wi-Fi was spotty and kept dropping us off. Big selection at breakfast but nothing worth eating; rubbery eggs, runny oatmeal. Our son requested a crib for his one year old. Didn’t get it for 24 hours and had to ask for it three times. Bill was more than the figure I was quoted in my confirmation 3 months earlier.
