Stunningly beautiful location in one of the true paradises on the central California coast.
Stunningly beautiful location in one of the true paradises on the central California coast. Charming and caring staff. The Martine Inn is the perfect place to unplug alone or together. My stay was extraordinary and special.

Very cozy hotel although not child-friendly
Clean, well-maintained. Breakfast was cool.
This accommodation is not child-friendly at all and the hostess was passive aggressive during checkin. Once we arrived for our 1 night stay, we came in with our 2year old daughter who has been traveling with us in multiple trips across various countries and U.S cities and this was the first accommodation that we were told that we could not check into our room because we didn’t say we were bringing her and their queen room was too small. This explanation seemed fair enough so we asked if there are other rooms, and she said we need to reserve a king room. We asked her the price and she said it’s going to be $110 more (essentially 40% more than what we paid). Upon checking on Booking.com there was no price difference for the change. So I told her I’d rather book through booking.com since it’s significantly cheaper. I called booking.com to make the changes and she was still insisting that we pay the difference because the room costs more on their website. Eventually after a few back and forth, she decided to let it go and we just pay $35 in addition because they needed to provide additional towels and breakfast for my 2 year old. Again, after staying in over 50+ hotels since she has been born, this was the first time I heard of such. We paid the $35 and then checked in. I took it as “water down the bridge” because we were only staying the night. Next morning, the breakfast staff was so polite and accommodating (opposite of the check-in hostess). Then 2mins before we wrapped up breakfast she came to tell us to keep our daughter quiet because she started playing by the window. So we just got up and left since we were being treated like a bother. In summary, we will not be returning or recommending for folks with children. Not worth ruining your holiday for.

I will say it now. New mattresses = repeat lifelong guests
Everything was amazing. The best part? Otters for breakfast, Judy for lunch and sunsets for dinner. Judy made this hotel become a five star accommodation , without her there is no hotel as she is the hardest worker, training staff, being present and always having a smile. I will be back for Judy- period.
Get some new mattresses please. They are ancient and bone breaking,

Great visit; would stay there again!
Great breakfast with cornbread, eggs and bacon.
Room smelled a bit like “old furniture” when the room was closed up for a while.

A real gem with old time charm
A really old fashioned and charming hotel. Good off road parking and very pleasant and welcoming staff. Lovely dining room offering breakfast with sea views. Nice well kept garden area and lovely old fashioned walnut room which was dated but comfortable.
No TV in the room which is a bit odd, but again perhaps part of the charm. Long list of fines for various potential infractions which felt a bit severe to read through.
