Location

The beds were said to be Queens and they were actually doubles. When I asked about this to the front-desk lady she was very polite, but then the night manager came in and she couldn't have been more aggressively rude. She refused to help look at the possibility of another room, and told me I would have to go through Booking.com. When asked about another type of room ( a king with a pullout), she refused to let me look at an example before I called Booking.com. She also lied and said the pull-out beds were only a twin size, which I later found out was untrue. I threw my hands up and walked away as she continually berated me. 10 minutes later, as I came in with my second bag, I saw her yelling at the next customer trying to check in. It was literally the opposite of hospitality, and she couldn't have been ruder or less helpful! I don't think she has any business speaking to any customers in a service-related business, and I am kind of worried about how she treats her family.

Most of the employees were very kind and professional. Always willing to help and make you happy. The breakfast room was clean and sunny, Kitchen staff was wonderful. Good parking area, hotel is next to Salt Life which was a fun restaurant, as well as being right across from the beach.

Except the morning/day person she was always sitting back on her phone and acted like I was bothering her when I would ask a question. Not personable at all. the floor in my room was so dirty. Stuff alone bed frame, medication/pill that had been drop on the nightstand. Stuff in refrigerator, door was difficult to open and close, it was sticking I had to slam it to close it. I reported these items to the day desk person who basically just looked at me. I told her how dangerous it could have been if a child would have found the medicine and ate it.

Uncomfortable bed, sofa with stains and dusty, employees smoking at the front of the hotel and talking about work issues, and front employees in their cellphones all the time ignoring customers.

That it was close to the beach.

We had a lot of difficulties at this facility plus they have changed there staffed and we were not please by our services we received. We cancelled and ended up staying somewhere else. Would not recommend this hotel!

Location and breakfast

The shower drain was clogged and the tub filled up while showering. When the shower was backed up the toilet wouldn’t flush

Great location and the beds were comfortable

The shower was scalding hot the whole time we were there. The water would not get cool at all and would go from off to scalding hot and with three small children that is completely unacceptable. It took maintenance six hours to come try to fix it. The first night we were told that we would be moved to a different hotel, If they could not get it resolved sense they were booked up. Later that day, we were told that they could not move us, because they were in the middle of merging with a different hotel chain, and no longer could move us. Long story short. The water was not fix the whole time we were there, except for a few minutes after the maintenance guy would come every day on our last day the toilet would overflow for absolutely no reason and we had to send our kids downstairs to use the restroom in the middle of the night!! I would told I would be refunded for one of the nights but has yet to see that I’ve contacted the corporate number and I will be getting an email that will tell me if I could be compensated or not with in 4-7 days ughhh I think the whole experience was terrible although the front desk staffed did all, they really could to help without being able to do much

Comfort Inn is currently under transition to Sand and Surf, and from our observations, has been doing lots of painting and upgrading to their establishment. It’s wonderful to have a clean fresh room to stay in. We absolutely LOVE to visit the Fort Clinch beaches just north of this hotel, and that entrance is just a couple hundred feet from hotel +++! We also, absolutely love “Salt Life Food Shack” food and dining, and this is just a very short walk from hotel. This is a plus for us as well. We’ve stayed at at least 3 different hotels at Amelia Island before Comfort Inn, but based on location, cleanliness, friendliness…. We would be apt to stay at this hotel again. Friends visited with us at the same time and liked their stay (their room as well) and didn’t express any dissatisfaction with them.

During this “upgrade period”, our bathroom door needs to have a doorknob that actually “fits” the opening. Other than that…. It was totally satisfactory to us.
