Quiet with minimal human sounds and the roar of the ocean

VRBO next door blocked view out the side windows and there were 3 issues, bathroom door latch, one cabinet door rehung bot not right and gas fireplace had an issue that it didn’t burn evenly

View was beautiful and employees were friendly and it was clean.

Refrigerator was right next to our bed and loud and people coming in and out of rooms was loud but overall good.

I would stay there again.

The one bedroom suite was spacious. The baseboard in the main area worked well.

We were visiting in February and the bedroom heat was not working, it was cold. The fireplace did not work either.

Great older beachfront property with easy beach access. Also pet friendly

Exactly what we wanted ocean front and easy access to the beach for walks. The property is definitely older but incredibly clean and functional. Everything you need to cook

The first guy that checked us in was nice and professional. Pretty hit and miss after that…and we only had a couple of questions.

Our stay was good. Just didn’t sleep well do to kids running around next door at 6 am.

I have been coming here for years. I love this place. The staff is wonderful. It’s on the beach

The rooms are getting really run down and the price has increased. The beds really need an upgrade if the price is going to continue to go up.

Unbeatable beachfront location, basic but comfortable and clean

The location right on the beach can't be beat - we had a balcony beachfront room and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the ocean all night long. Otherwise, basic but comfortable & clean accommodations. All basic kitchen dishes and utensils are there, to prepare simple meals.

Staff were a little lackadaisical - we didn't always get our fresh towels and supplies in a timely manner.

Great view, clean and comfortable

Love having a balcony and being just feet from the beach, The ocean view was nice and it is a great walking beach. You can have a small fire on the beach at night if you wish. The room felt cozy and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay no cons here.

We always have a good stay at Rockaway. It is a beautiful place to stay and the beach is wonderful.

We love the close view of the ocean. I like leaving the slider open so I can hear the waves and get the ocean breeze. We appreciate the fireplace when it gets chilly and we liked the fact that we could cook in our room because the places to eat in Rockaway are very limited.

The rooms need to be updated badly. The toilet would not flush and when it did, it ran for hours so I checked and someone had replaced the flap but left the old flap in the tank so it got stuck under the new flap. I had to reach in that nasty tank and get the old flap out. The beds are terrible but I knew that so I brought a foam topper for the mattress. They also need to replace the bedding. We have been going there for over 5 years and the rooms have the same old tired out bedding. So glad we travel with our own pillows and comforters.

We will be back! The view is absolutely perfect, beds were comfortable, although outdated it felt clean!

You can’t beat the view from buildings A, B & C! These buildings are right on the beach! You don’t have to cross a highway or meadow, just a small flight of stairs to the sand. Also a little yard with seating areas if you don’t want to go to the sand offers great views. Loved lying in bed watching the waves.

It could use some updating. The fridge may have been as old as me and you can tell this “resort” has been around for awhile. Although outdated, it still felt clean. We got the two bed and the bedroom does not have a view of the ocean. The other bed is in the living room and has a great view- just something you might want to know.

The kitchen is nice to have but it was very under stocked. Two frying pans and a small pot. Made it very difficult to cook for a family in a family suite.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Surfside was a great place to stay. I liked that there was a pool and we were close to the beach.

Everything was pretty amazing, but the traffic was loud in the mornings off the highway, and I wish there was conditioner. Those were the only complaints.

I didn't like all the stairs.. im a good( big ) size woman and I have bad knees and bad balance and is very hard on me carrying all my stuff , up the stairs it would be nice if you had people to do that.

It was right by the ocean. Not to far to walk down to the water. Queen suite was awesome. Liked that there were 2 bathrooms. It was a good stay except for a few things.

Was told that they were booked up, so no extra pillows. If we wanted extra toilet paper we had to go to office to get it. If we wanted any clean towels , we had to put them out by door in mornings. Rooms weren't cleaned until we checked out. Trash was taken out by us, not staff and had to ask for trash bags to put back in room

Beach front property and you can fall asleep to crashing waves!

It is a super clean - comfortable 1990’s design property. Don’t let the old look turn you away. This place is cared for and clean! The beach front is perfect.

The stay was okay, but I most likely won't be returning to this resort.

The view of the beach from the room was nice. The layout of the room was spacious and the balcony was nice. The staff was informative when we checked in. Parking was easy and close to the room.

The room and its contents (loveseat, beds, bathroom) were very outdated for the price that was paid. The beds weren't very comfortable and the bed covers/comforters were old and faded.
