A quiet place to stay, away from the craziness of Waikiki

I'd stayed here for a couple of nights at the start of my trip and decided to return at the end since I knew it would be a comfortable, clean and peaceful place to stay before taking my international flight. Thank you!

The place was clean and ok. For being Hawaii where everything is overpriced was ok.

I was placed in upper bunk in a pitch dark room (where other ladies where already sleeping), where there was not even a night light . I arrived about 10:20 pm. The kind lady that manages the place told me that because I would be only for one night (stop flight) she put me in the top bunk, when it should be the opposite (people who stay that short time should have been placed in the botton). Probably the bunk beds should have a curtain for privacy. I had to clime in the ladders in the darkness what is difficult and risky. It could be easy a person fell down, especially if she is not very young. The rest was ok

THE ONE STAFF HAS ALOHA SPLITS!

When we have problems with the Doom Mate, only listen to only onside so I could not stay the maximum of length I could not stay. I had to leave there early. Plus I believe we could stay there the max is a 7 days informed but some stay longer the max. I feel it is discrimination. but it reasonably clean. It is nice.

Home away from home

Great hostel! Sue and her sister are so friendly, they welcome you into their home and you actually feel at home immediately. Rooms and bathroom are very clean. Kitchen has everything you need. Location is great within walking distance of 3 bus stops that have the major bus lines. I loved walking to the beach though (only 30 minutes). Supermarket also within walking distance. Quiet neighbourhood.

Nice people, great location, can’t beat the price.

The place is spotless! Dormitories, restroom, kitchen all impeccably clean. The location is peaceful, away from all the craziness, walking distance to stores. 2 min walk to many bus lines. Wifi worked great. Very friendly staff with tons of helpful info & tips.

Not a lively hostel, just a place to stay

Staff were incredibly nice and looks after me

Location was very far from Waikiki, no alcohol or smoking on premises meant there wasn’t really an atmosphere there and was mainly used for people stopping by for a day or two.

Nice staff and clean, secure hostel

The hostel is clean and good value compared to many other options in Hawaii. The beds are comfortable with good quality sheets.

The neighbourhood around the hostel is a little bit drab, having to walk quite far to the shops.

very clean this is very important in a hostel.

I know that there are a lot of buses for arrive to Waikiki but is far walking to there. you can’t walk with shoes you can’t drink.

Bedbugs everywhere - I had to go to the pharmacy!!!

- very friendly and family staff - good for getting connections to other travelers - near bus station and university - kitchen & refrigerator

- Bedbugs everywhere; they bit me all over my body! - no charging outlets for smartphone etc, just at the office and in the restroom - no air conditioning

Want to visit here again.

This hostel is just beside the University of Hawaii at Manoa main campus. Easy to access from the airport and downtown / clean rooms / good facilities / kind staff / comfortable beds

wifi signal is a little bit weak in the room. (not always)

It's located in a quiet neighborhood next to the University of Hawaii in Manoa where public busses.

It's located in a quiet neighborhood next to the University of Hawaii in Manoa where public busses frequent from before dawn till near midnight. It's independently owned, so just bear with them and it's not your regular HI Hostels. Sue transferred me to lower bunk bed the following day just I had requested in Booking.com.

Accessable electric sockets for upper bunk beds for all are located on the lower bunk bed's wall. Sue who runs the place jokingly says she needs 50 grand to rewire the place which is understandable on the age of the place and their resources.

Friendly people and low price.

Internet not strong and dropped a lot in bedroom, room was hot, no A/C, bed not the most comfortable, only a few plug outlets were working.

Amazing host, very clean hostel, close to bus station.

Nice hostel ! Amazing host Sue and her sister Johana. make me feel very welcomed and gave me amazing tips to travel around Honolulu. Couple of minute walk to the bus station if you don’t have a car it’s very convenient. Very clean facilities. Loved that they practice traditional Hawaiian culture.
