Our stay at this charming inn was the highlight of our week-long vacation. We spent the last two nights here, and the breakfast alone was a perfect 10/10, surpassing any other we had during our trip. The rooms were stunning, and the house was adorned with fascinating antiques at every turn. We particularly enjoyed playing the available instruments, which added a unique touch to our experience. Each evening, we indulged in a complimentary glass of wine, making for a delightful end to our days.
The views from both the balcony and our windows were breathtaking, offering an exquisite panorama of downtown Coeur d'Alene from atop the mountains. The WiFi was reliably fast, which was essential for catching up on work emails. Above all, Sandy and David were exceptionally kind and thoughtful hosts, ensuring our stay was nothing short of perfect.

location
all of it, art works in it and how the owner decorates it, i can’t wait till it is all remodeled and finish, it is a definite stay again and i would recommend it yo others

Excellent. So friendly. House is amazing. Woke up to a lake view sunrise and this little deer outside my window. I’d live here if they’d let me. So worth it.
Everything was great.
4.8
Gorgeous location. Beautiful decks and comfortable common areas. Both our breakfasts were delicious!! It was fun to enjoy breakfast with the other guests.
4.8
It was a charming house with a lot of character
Didn’t really like a shared bathroom, but it wasn’t a problem
4.8
Breakfast was gourmet and it was fun to eat with other couples who were out adventuring, like us.
4.8
Lovely setting. Beautifully furnished. Every room unique. Excellent, homemade breakfast. Wonderful staff.
Lined everything!
4.8
A lovely property, very comfortable and relaxing. Enjoyed the evening wine and very delicious breakfast.
Nothing.

Comfy bed; excellent selection of loose tea for breakfast (the coffee had run out); quite a way out of town but in a lovely area and a nice view of the lake (forest fire smoke permitting).
When it said ‘shared bathroom’ we hadn’t realised that meant all three double rooms on our floor (not sure what what happened on the floor above) sharing a shower and toilet in a single bathroom. There was a rota to smooth the process - but this seems extraordinary in this day and age when you are paying this amount of money.

We had a great stay at this location. The caretaker Tonya was super friendly and made a wonderful breakfast each morning which we ate with other guests. This was a great opportunity to chat with the other guests and learn more about where we should travel next. We stayed in the triple twin room and my daughter loved the loft.

Beautiful place! Woke up to an amazing view of the sunrise!
4.8
The breakfast and company was fabulous on both days of our stay. We loved our room which was the quilt room. We just loved Tonya. She cooked, cleaned and was the glue that held the B&B together. The view from the deck was awesome. We saw mama deer and her babies. All of the rooms had their own personalities. We would recommend it
All was perfect.

Caretaker (Tonya) was welcoming and helpful. Her breakfasts were both beautiful and delicious! Fun experience all around!
4.8
Quaint and personalized experience …being well taken care of

The house is just out of this world filled with beautiful original artwork by the owner and antique furniture. It exceeded my expectations and my kids and I were so excited to explore every corner. Tanya, the caretaker of the house is such a delightful person and the breakfast she made was delicious!
Nothing for me. I love the place. If you are into modern minimalist decor then this may not be the place for you.
4.8
The property was gorgeous! Both the interior and exterior were beautiful and there were gorgeous views and comfortable places to relax.
The only minus was that in the early morning hours I could hear the floor creaking upstairs. If you’re a light sleeper you might want one of the upstairs rooms.
4.8
Great location and a fun house

We had a stay at the Coeur De Lion that we will never forget! From the lovely grounds and staff, fantastic food and wine, and wonderful company, we made so many lovely memories in just one night. Thank you David and Sandy for hosting us with your family, my mom and I had a great time!

It felt like home, breakfast was wonderful and unique

Breakfasts were wonderful and the location was outstanding!
I was very disappointed that our room was an interior room with no windows. Is this legal in that area? The room was tiny for 2 people.
The written instructions for finding the house were poor. For example, “ from 95”….. is this North of the city or South of the city?“Up a winding road” ….all roads go up….What was its name? It changed from Cougar Gulch Road to Meadowbrook almost immediately and we had to backtrack and ask several neighbours before we finally found the facility from the opposite direction from what was intended. Yes, Google Maps would have been handy BUT when already travelling for several days and outside of your home country, this is not always possible or practical.
4.8
The house had a lot of character and charm. There were lots of little touches that added to our comfort. The view outside our window was beautiful. The breakfast was exceptional. The opportunity to
meet and talk to other guests was a real bonus.
The bedroom felt a little cluttered.

Absolutely amazing home and furnishings. The art work, antiques and decor is absolutely breathtaking. I took a lot of photos and videos. Beautiful view especially at night and so many private little ‘hideaways’ for people to go off by themselves for phone conversations etc.
For being out in the country, i was concerned as I had two late night webinars I had to attend /participate in and I was worried about having a good connection - it was unfounded. Great connection!
Sweet, very friendly resident outdoor cats who took a liking to me I guess because I’m such an animal lover.
It’s always amazing to me how people can be SO gracious to open up their entire home to people they don’t know who are just ‘passing through.’ And to allow them full access to books, instruments, etc.
Well there was very little not to like except the bathroom issue. And the downstairs rooms can be a little chilly so be sure to bring a sweater or to ask for a warm blanket for the chair if you have work to do late at night.
With 5 people sharing a small bathroom with a shower, people had to write their names on a schedule on the door which gave very little time to get in and out. Most women can’t get ready in 20 mins so I felt rushed as I had mistakingly signed up for breakfast the second morning to find I was late and didn’t understand the requirements for what was preferred. (Small print) - so be careful to read ALL the fine print and also be prepared for what can be a rushed morning for you.
Otherwise. Wonderful.
Oh and be careful to completely shut your door and latch it or you may find a feline visitor who is not supposed to be inside. I’m just such an animal magnet because they know who loves them!
If the hosts see my review. I had to rush out to a meeting so didn’t get a chance to say goodbye in person. Thanks for everything…

I can’t rave enough about how amazing this property is. Not only is the house itself incredible but the decor makes it one of a kind. The view from the back porch is breathtaking! This was easily the best ‘vacation rental’ I’ve ever ever stayed in!
I loved everything

Staff was fantastic, everything they did was great and well done
They warned us of sharing the bathroom, the other people staying there who we shared with were very dirty and made a HUGE mess in the bathroom. So that is the only worry, again, staff was great and the room was clean, just be careful with sharing
4.8
The breakfast was exceptional! It was fun and interesting talking with other guests. Loved the glass of wine to welcome us! Staff is really accommodating!
Hard to share a bathroom with 6 people but it was fine.

From the moment we drove up the curvy road through lush forests and mountain flowers, we knew Couer de Lion was special. Stunning view, gorgeous architecture, intriguing decor, yummy breakfast, engaging guests, and a warm welcome. I loved all l of the little personal details provided; the friendly welcome email, the scroll with instructions, the name written on our door, and our personal tour with Sandy. Thanks so much. A great experience overall!
When I went in the downstairs bathroom right after arriving, I saw a bunch of hair in the drain of the shared shower. I know that's the risk with shared bathrooms, but it just kind of turned me off a little. When I went back to take a shower in the morning, it was gone. So all good. :)

I was looking for a place to decompress and Coeur de Leon was perfect. I practically lived on the porch surrounded by forest overlooking Coeur d'Alene. Tonya, Sandy, and David were all extremely friendly and welcoming. I ended up staying an extra night as it was so relaxing!
4.8
The ambience, the wonderful architecture, the paintings, the atmosphere, the beauty this is a wonderful place
4.8
Truly spectacular view and amazing rooms and service.
4.8
Wonderful views, and beautiful, interesting property. Loved the artwork, and the medieval vibe, the stain glass even in the bathroom.Tonya was amazing, and so fun to talk to. Wonderful breakfast, and experience.
4.8
Great breakfast. Nice and comfortable B&B.
Shared bathroom was OK but could be improved if the host added guest robes in each room for use when accessing the bathroom afterhours.

Air conditioning could have been colder.
