Short, but memorable.

The view from the property is awesome! Majestic, snow topped mountains are visible from just about every point on the property. This is accentuated by its location overlooking the bay.

It looked like the best place in town to stay, priced appropriately for the location.

Even though the motel was older, it had been updated and even included some items not really expected. Super clean rooms, nice linens. Spotless bathroom.

Really Expensive but good location

Found it very expensive once you convert it to canadian dollars for the price. Also the pet fee $35 US is the highest I’ve ever paid anywhere for a pet fee. The pet rooms are small and no view of the ocean so the total price seems very high to me.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Captain’s Choice and enjoyed the incredible views and walkable location.

The views from our room, the breakfast room, and the balcony were incredible! Our room was well appointed with a table and chairs, nightstands on both sides of the bed, a fridge with a freezer, a closet, and a full bathroom. The continental breakfast was about what you’d expect, but I did appreciate the hard boiled eggs. The staff were helpful and kind. The location is wonderful for walking around Haines and going out the road to explore.

The bed was a little soft and concave in the middle. The walls were a tad thin; we could hear someone talking on the phone in the room next to us the first afternoon we were there, but it wasn’t a problem after that.

Great stop after the Alaskan Ferry as we prepped for a long road trip

A bit rustic but kept very clean. Bed was comfy. Microwave snd fridge handy for us travelers who were road tripping (which were most of us). Loved that the host opened continental breakfast early and it had hard boiled eggs, cheese, yoghurt, applesauce and more. Plus paper bags. Perfect for grab n go. We had hundreds of miles ahead of us and this was very thoughtful!! The local Mountain Market had great food items we picked up to eat in (those Indian Food Bites) and deli items.

Someone in next room took a looong bath and used up the hot water! Arghh. Ah well. Sponge bath time for us.

Excellent location

Fantastic location. Comfortable rooms. We had a bit of an issue with double payment, which was sorted out by the staff (Thank you!). We had our best sightseeing day in Haines. Would have loved to stay longer. The breakfast was also very good.

I enjoyed the unplanned stay in Haines. very friendly staff.

helpful and friendly staff. great continental breakfast with a beautiful view of the bay. coffee was excellent. we had to leave our cars and uhaul at the ferry terminal for 5 days and charter a plane to Juneau. they picked us up that first evening and drove us all out to our plane in the morning.

Expensive for 1 night, we had to rent 3 tiny rooms. we were stuck in town when ferry was canceled so we made the best of it.

Nice view, old hotel but clean

The view was nice. The staff was nice.

The bathroom is very very small. A breakfast is very very basic. The breakfast hours start at 7:30 which is very late to get started on an adventure.

Loved this place would definitely stay here again on future visits to Haines.

Really enjoyed staying here, lovely cosy room with a fantastic view, staff were super friendly and helpful and really appreciated the pick up from the ferry terminal. Great location walking distance from everything in town. Option for car rental available on site.
