The owner was really nice and the rooms were comfy and had a kitchen and the decor was great inside and around the property. Had a pond with fish and fountains and places to sit outside in the shade and relax

Located near excellent birdwatching around Portal, AZ. Options for rooms very limited, and this turned out to be a solid one. Options for dining also very limited in the area. Room Was clean and quaint, had the necessities, but nothing more.

No gas station for quite a few miles, so have a full tank. Restaurants few in the area and hours very limited, so bring your own food as much as possible.

Unique funky unit set in a quirky desert garden full of western artifacts. A clean room with kitchenette, a homey sofa and rocking chair, and a clean bathroom with shower stall. Furnishings and decorations are western-themed. Quick access to nearby Portal AZ and Cave Creek for birdwatching. The Apache Museum is only a mile or two away.

Through no fault of the lodge, the normally quiet Hwy 80 was deluged with truck traffic when westbound I-10 to the north was closed due to an accident. However, once the accident was cleared and the traffic back to normal, it was quiet and peaceful.

Quiet, comfortable, excellent location.

BOOKING.COM. Always book this accommodation directly with the property owner. I replied yes to the prepay option on Booking.com. They charged my credit card. When I arrived at the site the manager told me he has no arrangement with booking.com for them to take the money. When we called Booking.com and tried to sort it out they were worse than unhelpful, even though both the owner and I were there with my credit card statement in hand. So I paid the owner and as soon as I get home I will transfer my other bookings directly to the property. That will be the last time I ever use this accommodation broker.
