Great for price . Friendly staff.
Lots of noise. Doors slamming etc.But all and all good for the price

We didn’t eat breakfast at this location.
Wi-Fi signal was spotty. The room could have used a little bit nicer chair because the bed was the only place to sit and relax.

The location was awesome! Beautiful old building right downtown. Lovely location.
The room needed some TLC.

We love the location and the historic building. The casino and restaurant are fantastic. The bartender was friendly. I'm excited to see what the new owners will do.
We weren't offered a lift to/from parking. The check-in counter person was borderline rude. Our room could use a bit of attention. Love the antique furnishings, but the mattresses and pillows need updating.

Absolutely the best location in Deadwood! We had room #300, on the corner, best view ever! Bed was the most comfy we've slept in since we can remember. All of the staff was superb! Legends breakfast omelette like we've never experienced before was a culinary delight. The historic details were phenomenal. Only thing better would have been if we could have stayed longer!
Loved every single moment!

The rooms were what you expect from a 100 year old historic hotel. There were issues, such as the bed being way to soft, but it is cool to stay in such an historic place. The Resturant was first rate and we enjoyed the meals and the servers. It was excellent. My daughter also won money in a casino!
The hotel had some amenity issues but overall it was nice to stay in such an historic place

Awesome, historical hotel that I would come to again in a heartbeat!
Nothing, everything was great!

Would not take much to improve this hotel. Replace tubs, more hooks & shelves in the bathrooms. Overhead lighting in the rooms. Plaster to repair the walls. A cafe to feed customers quick and easy bar food. 1 & 1/2 hrs for breakfast is too long.
Short staffed in all restaurants. Dirty ladies bathroom by the veranda

Older building reasonable price....guest contact person drove a shuttle to come get me ...was very nice
Parking away from building, was told they wouldn't cancel my room free after SKID ROW Cconcert postponed due to weather because I booked it with booking.com. Spoke to front desk upon arrival and was told my room was canceled due to no funds and that someone had already contacted me. After I left for a moment and verified that was not true with my bank I returned and they asked my name again and then said oh...that was a different person. Very humiliating when it wasn't even me. Nothing here for my family to do since we we only stayed because I was going to get charged no matter what... kids and adults super loud ...

The historic aspect of hotel.
The fast action of hotel personnel to get the room thermostat working.
Parking is a block and half away from hotel. Room was too hot but hotel maintainence was quick to help resolve the issue and gave us a fan to use.

The suite. The view. The convenient location. The price. The atmosphere and history of this great building. The doormen were GREAT! Other employees were all pretty good.
Id rather people read the good first. The following info wasnt so bad, just a little dissapointing. We remained positive and loved our birthday party night at the Franklin. Most dissapointing was that the ELEVATOR was down-we had to use 8 flights of stairs to get up to top 4th floor. A couple of us were seniors. (Glad we were in good shape) which limited our outings, which was inconvenient. The wall heater in one room made loud clicking noises all night. The hot water took quite a bit of time to get hot. Understandably so for it is a very old hotel. A couple desk staff members seemed put out with our friendly smiles and good attitudes. May have had to do with the loss of elevators and nothing to do with us. We remained positive. 2 blocks to our parking wasn't bad-but I only got 1 free parking out of 3 cars our group had. Had to pay another $20 that wasn't disclosed in reservation information.

very good
elevator was broken

it had a great location for being downtown.
The rooms were a very old, dingy, smoky and uncomfortable. The people at the counter would not upgrade us to a non-smoking room, without booking.com contacting them or canceling and re-submitting the reservation said there was parking available, but we drove around for 30 minutes and had to pay somebody to park us as their lot was already booked up and full.

the location was perfect, and we loved the historical feel of the rooms.
Nothing to dislike!

Bed was super comfortable. The shower was nice. Great location and staff was very nice.
Bathroom door wouldn't close, terrible lighting in room. Not able to open windows and the room was very warm.

I booked my room on Booking.com, I went on the website for the hotel and I couldn't find any photos of the specific room I would be in. I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew it was historic, clearly, but I didn't know if the rooms had been modernized or what. I do NOT like modernized stuff. I LOVE originals and the homey feel. When we got there, I couldn't be happier. We were greeted with a smile and the best customer service. Ivan brought our luggage up to our room for us. Every time he saw us after that, he would always make sure we were doing well and enjoying our stay. They had a doorman which was nice. I loved that the suite we stayed in was separated. You walk into the "living room" where there's a couch, recliner, rocking chair and a small TV. To your left is the bathroom then one of the two rooms which has two beds and a small tv along with a couple dressers. If you were to go right, there's the second room which has two beds, a dresser, and a sink. No TV. If you look out the windows, you get a great view of the amphitheater where performances of history are held as well as other things.
One thing I wasn't too fond of was that the shower didn't drain correctly (probably because of old piping or a buildup of hair) and the light above the sink in one of the bathrooms, the fixture, not the light itself, was hot to the touch after a while of it being on. The parking is about 2 blocks away from the hotel. They have a shuttle to and from parking, but the doorman is the shuttle driver. We didn't utilize the shuttle at all until we checked out and used it to move our luggage to our car. I would have one or two shuttle drivers and a doorman. But it didn't ruin the stay at all.
