Some updates would serve this property well

The historic property, friendly staff, on-premise dining room and bar, great downtown location, and free on-site parking were all big pluses.

The rooms were indeed "tired and worn," the hot water/water pressure was iffy, the bed and pillows not the most comfortable.

Hotel fits in with the town history and felt very comfortable being there.

Breakfast was good.....thought room was a little on small side but comfortable.....loved the history look of building inside.....enjoyed pictures in dining room.

Refrigerator on metal stand in room 112 , should of been long desk for sitting at and fridge on one end of it, also chair wasn't needed.

we would stay there again and have already recommended to friends.

Staff friendly and helpful. Great location plenty of parking. We had dinner there Saturday night it was really busy, but staff came through and food was excellent.

The Penn Wells is an historic hotel—think 1940’s—with a great location.

The breakfast was good. The location was perfect. The staff was friendly and very accomondating.

The window air conditioner was loud. The window shades were old and didn’t work properly.

Can't wait to return in the fall to see the fall colors.

Great location and the woman at the front desk was very helpful - recommended a great restaurant the second night - had a wonderful dinner at the Lounge in hotel the first night. Spent 4th of July weekend cycling the Pine Creek Rail Trail, which is only 7-8 mile drive from downtown Wellsboro, Pa. Great breakfast - gentleman serving breakfast was pleasant and very helpful. Staff as a whole were wonderful.

Just like many old hotels, the rooms were tiny.

Love the Penn Wells Hotel

It was like going back in time. Such an inviting atmosphere. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Very clean and comfortable.

We were disappointed that the dining room and lounge were not open.

If you like history and period decor, you’ll enjoy this hotel.

Historic building , center of town near restaurant’s, bars, on walking tour, friendly staff

a bit shabby, some inconvenience for breakfast due to staffing difficulties

The breakfast was very good and the location was perfect!!! Close to everything!!

Our room was very small and didn't have much space. Wish it would have been bigger. A little disappointed with that.

Overall great stay at the hotel. Great location right on Main st.

Breakfast was good. The staff were so nice and friendly and extremely helpful with anything we needed! The Lounge was cool as well.

The beds could of been better. They were pretty hard and some what uncomfortable.

Overall, pleasant, and I enjoyed the history behind the hotel.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for exploring the town and the surrounding area. The room was quaint and comfortable. Breakfast provided many options to include early morning beverage and cold food options.

My room was close to the kitchen, so the smell of grilled meat was very strong. The windows probably need to be the next big renovation investment. Having the AC unit on helped some, but didn’t completely eliminate the smell. I am a vegetarian…so not a great smell for me!

Very nice place with historic vibes!

We really liked the historic vibe to it-it almost felt like you stepped back in time in a fictional movie! The rooms were dated but very clean & the bed was super clean and comfortable! Loved the hotel bar & the 1940’s music playing in the lobby!

Really there wasn’t a lot to dislike-the breakfast could have added waffles & some different fruit

Pleasant

It had availability when we wanted to be in the area to use the dark sky area at Cherry Springs State Park. It was also interesting to stay in a building that is on National Register of Historic Preservation -- a first for us.

We did not take the free breakfast because we prefer to eat outdoors. We could have brought a tray to our room, but did not want to bother. I would have liked to have had the option to not be offered the free breakfast, but to get a $10/day reduction in my rent.
