It was awful and I would never stay there again nor would I recommend anyone else stay there.

The location is right in the middle of downtown and as we discovered unfortunately only one mile from the emergency room.

The hotel is in sad shape and deteriorating. My husband was attempting to climb out of pool and used the handrail on the steps in the shallow end to support him. It was so wobbly it threw him off balance and his foot slipped. His shin came hard down on the brick edge. It came down directly onto a brick protruding from the rest. The hotel staff wouldn't do much for us but without our permission called an ambulance. EMS personnel said shin cut needed stitches. He refused ambulance since they said I couldn't ride along. I drove him to ER where he received a tetanus shot and six stitches. Staff was awful.

Good value - I’d stay again.

Inexpensive, working swimming pool, nice little touches. Breakfast was adequate and it was great that they kept it out until 11:30!

Found some trash and items from a prior guest on the floor behind curtains. Otherwise very clean. Room was a bit dark and stuffy. Pool was enclosed in high walls so not in the sun much- it’s not pretty but is clean.

Good value for a short notice trip, would probably consider alternatives due to extreme noise exposure

Excellent location, heart of city, easy to walk to shops, restaurants. Room was clean, staff pleasant. Comfortable room.

I could not change the shower nozzle which is a nuisance when trying to wash long hair.

Downtown Asheville is fun, and this is an affordable alternative to the overpriced hotels nearby.

The proximity to the downtown area was its best attribute, although that part felt a little less secure than other places nearby. The price was good and it was clean, with a comfortable bed.

GPS kept sending us to places nearby when we were trying to find it at first. Anyone could climb the stairs and be at your door with the outside doors and even when going through the lobby, 3 out of four times there was no one at the desk. We did not feel as secure as at most places we've stayed.

An affordable location in the heart of Asheville

Excellent location, affordable rates.

Dated property in need of some updating. Mattress is cheap / quite hard. Carpet in room is pretty gross.

My partner and I were amazed at how clean it was. Most ppl associate outdated buildings and reasonable low prices with less clean facilities. That is not the case here. Kudos to the housekeeping staff for not cutting corners and as a person who was in the cleaning business for years I know what to look for. We asked for a room on the 5th floor on the west side to catch the sunset and it did not disappoint. The beds were comfy, room had a small fridge and microwave which are a huge plus for foodies who come back with leftovers in a town known for its variety in cuisine. I would stay again and recommend this place to anyone with a budget but expecting a clean pillow to rest their head on.

Pillows were oddly small and the door access scanner on the side of the building was broken. Very inconvenient In negative degree weather and the quickest way to your room is having bc access to the side elevator.

Best location and price! Walked everywhere in center. Closest hopp on/off trolley station is 3 min walk. Staff is very friendly and rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is enough for little start in the morning. Best choice to stay in Asheville.
