About this house rental
Located in Sugarloaf Village. Beautiful on-mountain home offering spectacular views of Sugarloaf with large main room featuring large custom granite fireplace, modern kitchen, quality beds, easy 5 minute drive to mountain or short walk to shuttle stop. Bike directly to the trails! Perfect for families or couples. Spacious mud room with boot dryers. 7-person hot tub with equally amazing views.
Of importance: This is a beloved family home that we are happy to occasionally rent when not in use. If you are looking for a comfortable and well-loved home with an amazing view to share with friends and family, this is your place. This is also one of the original homes at Sugarloaf so while we are constantly updating, this is not a new luxury property. If you are looking for a "party house" or a more "hotel like" setting, this is not your house but there are many other great options on the mountain!
A few VERY important notes:
- Hot Tub is not typically filled outside of the winter ski season. If you would like to use, it can possibly be filled by the hot tub company for a fee. Please inquire.
- As this is a mountain home and surrounded by nature, there can be flies (especially in the Fall and Spring). We proactively treat for them but this is the reality of mountain homes. And as a decidedly non-lover of any type of bugs/pests, trust we do our best!
- The house has air conditioning in the master bedroom and the main living room but not in other areas of the home. While uncommon, there can be some hot days in the mountains but it cools off at night. There are plenty of fans for use to bring in the cool air. If you are looking for a home with total air conditioning, this is probably not a great choice. The Sugarloaf Hotel DOES offer air conditioning. And free breakfast!!
- There is a one-bedroom breakout unit below this property that is rented seasonally. There is no sharing of any common spaces (except driveway) and it has its own separate entrance. But people will most likely be there.
- The property is clearly listed and intended as not allowing renter pets. On the rare occasion we make an exception, there is an extra $500 security deposit and mandatory $200 pet cleaning fee to ensure the house is properly deep cleaned. I am sure your pet is awesome. I am sure your pet is hypoallergenic. And I am sure you love your pet (we love ours!). But please do not bring your pet without prior approval. We will find out and it just gets awkward.
If you have read all of the above and are still interested, contact us! We love opening the house for others to enjoy but always want to make sure it is a great fit. A contract detailing house rules will be sent upon booking and must be returned within 5 days. Of note: A RING doorbell camera spans the driveway and another camera spans deck. The deck camera can be unplugged during stays.

Had a fantastic week skiing at Sugarloaf. House had perfect accommodations with more than enough beds for our 2-family crew. The loft area was perfect for all the kids (ages 10-14). Hot tub was amazing. Shuttle to the mountain was very convenient. Communication with the owner was super easy so anything we needed was quickly addressed. Already talking about hopefully doing the same trip next year!

Like all the reviews say, the pictures do NOT do it justice. The mountain hovers over you. Very majestic, peaceful with plenty of activities to do in the area. Hiking, biking, golfing, zip lining, lift rides. The perfect location for a busy bee or just relaxing by the fire pit on the deck. Highly recommended!!

The house was in the perfect location with a fantastic view of the mountain. Our family loved spending in the spacious family room. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathrooms were clean. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay at this home was incredible! The house has near everything you could ask for. The beds were very comfortable. The couches were also dangerously inviting. The best vacation couches you have ever sat in! The kitchen has ample supplies for your cooking and prep needs. There was plenty of room for 8 grown adults to stay here together. The mud room entryway is perfect for all of your gear. The boot dryer was a welcome surprise! Shuttle service is an easy quick call to and from the resort. The deck is spectacular. Even in the winter. The view of the mountains from the living room is absolute perfection. Pictures do not do it justice. This is the most peaceful location you could ask for. The hot tub is wonderful and clean! And the veiw there is another stunner after a long day on the trails. The towels and linens were all very soft and clean as well. Overall, there is nothing to keep me from wanting to stay here again and again. The host was amazing and available anytime we needed. The only downside of this home is having to leave it at the end.

Absolute Perfection!
From booking to check out this was the most amazing VRBO stay I have ever had! Carrie and her husband Sean were absolutely incredible. The photos of the home do not give it justice at all! The house is stunning! The location is perfect to the mountain.
My family travels together often for holidays and this has to be the best experience we have ever had. This house was the most equipped home we have ever stayed at through VRBO. The kitchen has everything we could have needed. We cooked 3 meals a day for 5 days, including snacks and a formal Christmas dinner. We wanted for nothing in their kitchen. The group we had was my parents, my husband and myself, my brother and his wife and their two tweens. The house was perfect! Everyone had space to be, areas to play games, a lovely view and fires each night to enjoy being together while we played games and did our nightly Christmas activities! The hot tub was a perfect way to relax from the slopes each day with a nice glass of wine and margaritas. The mountain was perfectly located to the house and was extremely easy to navigate!
There is no possible way to tell you how wonderful our stay was we can only HIGHLY recommend this home and these owners! We cannot wait to book here again!!!!!

Mesmerizing view
We had a great family reunion at the property. The deck was perfect for group or intimate time - such a fabulous 180 degree view over the treetops and across to Sugarloaf. Big well-equipped kitchen and great 6-burner stove and lots of room at the dinner table. Bathrooms were all new bright and clean. There are3 rooms for sleeping. The beds are comfortable but the sheets were all non-cotton. That is my main critique. I am a cotton-loving sleeper. It was very hot the week we were there and cotton sheets would have been so much nicer. Pillows ok, but bring your own if you are a princess like me. We had SO much fun mountain biking the rail trails and easy marked trails and we swam everyday: several days we swam in the Carrabasset River, one day found a beach at Flagstaff Lake above Eustis, and drove 40 minutes to Rangely Lake. Gorgeous area. AND, Caroline was very helpful and an excellent communicator! Would love to return.

Amazing views, cozy lodge feel, great location
We had a fabulous week long stay. The views from the living space and deck are heavenly - like being in a treehouse on a mountainside. My husband had to work quite a bit but he said it still felt like a vacation having those views in the background. Great location - I walked to multiple beautiful hiking trails including the narrow gauge area. I'm hiker but lots of good mountain biking as well. Home had a wonderful lodge feel and very cozy. Took advantage of the hot tub - great views from there too. Everything we needed in the kitchen and some wonderful meals out - especially at the Coplin Dinner House - we could not stop going there. Owner/manager was very responsive and easy to deal with. Had never been to Sugar Loaf and had a wonderful time - can't wait to come back.

Fantastic stay
My friends and I spent July 4th weekend here, and we had a fantastic time. We enjoyed waking up to birds chirping, as well as the loft space and feel.
We used the fireplace, hot tub, and grill over the few days there, and Carrie and her husband were fantastic owners, providing us support and advice throughout our stay.
The whole group was relaxed and recharged after staying there the long weekend. I would absolutely recommend others to this location!

Maine Getaway
We enjoyed our stay in Maine. The house had everything we needed. The porch was great for lounging, breakfast and cocktails by the fire. The view was spectacular and so quiet able to hear all the birds.

This place is absolutely amazing! Incredible views and this home has all the amenities! So relaxing waking up and having my coffee while looking directly up at Sugarloaf Mountain! The hot tub was a great treat after a day of skiing and we would end the day with our feet up sitting in front of the beautiful fireplace! Can’t wait to go back again!!

This home is a gorgeous property with a spectacular view of Sugarloaf Mountain from the great room, the master bedroom and the hot tub. We didn't want to leave!
We recently spent 2 weeks in this amazing property and when it was time to go home, we didn't want to. The house was perfect, the views were amazing and we enjoyed hours of watching the weather change on the mountain. We worked and did online school for both weeks and the Internet worked perfectly for us, which was a concern traveling to a location in the mountains. The local area is so beautiful and I enjoyed a nice 10 mile morning run on the nearby Narrow Gauge Trail most mornings. It was so pretty and not crowded at all. We picked blueberries nearby, rented mountain bikes from Carrabasset Valley Bikes and did some hiking. There is so much to see and do! The huge dining table was perfect for our family of 6 and the kitchen had all of the equipment we could have wanted. Carrie, the owner, was quick to respond to our questions and super helpful. We can't recommend this house enough and if we are fortunate enough to come to this beautiful corner of the world, we'll seek it out.

While we only stayed for a long weekend this summer , i know that this property is a gem year round. Minutes from the mountains, lakes, rivers , hiking, biking, skiing - it has it all. Beautiful Home with Incredible Views!
We were able to book this home last minute after another rental fell through. Carrie was super quick with communication and answered all of our questions! The pictures do not do justice to the view. It is incredible. We loved the hot tub and grilled on the deck almost every night. The main living area is spacious and gets a lot of natural light. The beds were comfortable and clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep! It does get a bit warm during the day sometimes, but the windows and fans help a lot. It can also be buggy outside so bring some citronella candles! Lots of hiking options in the area with waterfalls and great views! All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and we look forward to booking again in the future! Thanks Carrie!

The photos can't do this home justice. The views are stunning and you'll find this home as relaxing and comfortable as we did during our summertime stay. With herbs growing on the deck, plenty of amenities including a hot tub, and star gazing at night, this home offers a ton including a central location to Sugarloaf and the Narrow Gauge pathway. Our group of up to 11 enjoyed a four night stay at this property. It was everything we hoped for and more. The house was spacious and cozy at the same time. The common area provided a perfect place for our large group to gather each night. The home was well equipped, and had everything we could have needed.

Perfect ski weekend with friends
Carrie and Sean's place was a perfect home base for a Sugarloaf ski weekend with a large group of friends. Very short drive to the mountain, easy to take a short walk to a shuttle stop to and from The Rack, and a big, beautiful friendly shared space in the house to unwind together afterwards that has an amazing view of the mountain. They were both very responsive and friendly. Would recommend and stay again!

A very special place with an amazing view!!!
We were 3 families with smaller children and the space worked very well. Carrie was extremely responsive and accommodating - she made sure there was a high chair and pack and play available and, when some unexpected weather caused lots of ice, sent over someone quickly to sand the driveway and salt the outdoor areas. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to cook fantastic meals for our large group. The couches were super comfortable for sitting around the fire. The property was very nice but also felt cozy and lived in - a perfect place for a ski trip! We had a great time and definitely hope to be back in the future!

Brings the outdoors in
My family enjoyed a nearly perfect Christmas trip to this beautiful property ( the warm weather dampened the skiing we expected). The owners had put up a tree and decorated the main room so that it really felt like the holiday when we arrived. The large windows facing the mountain allow a spectacular view of Sugarloaf and the wooded area around the property made it seem very private, although we were right on the mountain. My family is already requesting to do this trip again. A special property with a beautiful large room and ample kitchen with all amenities to guarantee a fabulous stay..

Perfect for the guys golf trip
We stayed recently for a golf outing. The property was well set up for our large group. The kitchen was excellent and the tables sat us all comfortably for our food and poker experiences. We had a blast, and should our trip take us back to the Sugarloaf area, we would definitely consider thos house again.

Beautiful mountainside home with amazing views
Stayed at this home for 4 nights in February with our family and friends. The house is clean, well equipped and convenient to the ski area. The private location is peaceful and the view from the great room is breathtaking. Waking up every day to that view was awesome. We had cozy fires in the wood burning fireplace every night and cooked all of our meals at the house- we just didn’t want to leave it to go out anywhere! The owner is very responsive and easy to communicate with which is a bonus when renting. I would definitely recommended this house if you are looking in the Sugarloaf area!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Mountain View over Thanksgiving weekend! The house was just perfect for what we needed. The kids loved the bunkhouse. We all had plenty of space to congregate, hang out, and enjoy each other’s company. Of course, many of the conversations migrated outside to the hot tub which made the whole experience that much more relaxing. Great experience! Hope to do it again next year!

This one's got it all!
Had a wonderful girls' getaway weekend at this house! There was more than enough space for ~10 of us to hang out in front of the fire, eat a big meal or watch the Olympics on TV together, as well as quiet areas to retreat for reading or rest. The house was well-appointed - comfortable beds with clean linens, nice bathrooms, kitchen with tons of cooking gear, and a hot tub ready to go. The hosts were responsive and helpful throughout, and the views also cannot be beat. Highly recommend!

The best view of Sugarloaf Mountain!
A beautiful and big space (we had 10 people very comfortably) that still managed to feel super cozy. The place was impeccably clean, had great common areas for lounging and well stocked with essentials (plus a hot tub to boot!) It was a quick drive to the mountain and accessible to everything we needed. Our group plans to stay here every year!
