Friendly staff, good location but hygiene needs improvement

Very friendly staff, great dinner, great pool, lovely bar areas, spacious room. Singer in the evening created a nice atmosphere.

Cleanliness and hygiene a problem. For example, at breakfast birds were eating bread and pancakes from the buffet! Flies were all over the fruit as the food there wasn't covered up. The kitchen badly needed a thorough clean. At dinner this wasn't an issue and the standards were better. The room wasn't very clean and needed refurbishment. Extremely windy on the beach so we couldn't really use it. Broken glass in the sand unfortunately.

Carrément déçue !

Coin relativement calme quand on est du bon côté de l’hôtel. Buffet correct mais sans plus mais attention parfois..

Un séjour d’une semaine à l’Île Maurice, après avoir réalisé un voyage à la Réunion plutôt sportif. L’occasion pour nous de se détendre. Pourtant on a eu énormément de mal à y parvenir. Première chose : nous devions bénéficier d’une navette gratuite entre l’aéroport et l’hôtel, nous nous sommes retrouvés avec un taxi où on a déboursé 70€ le trajet jusqu’à l’hôtel et en nous disant « pour la Navette que vous n’avez pas eu, il faut voir avec booking ». Ensuite, la chambre familiale demandée ne correspondait pas du tout aux photos présentées sur Booking, ni sur le site de l’hôtel, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une chambre appelée par le personnel « suite » mais qui n’avait rien de tout ça puisque nous avions un lavabo cassé, une cabine de douche cassée et dont les joints n’étaient absolument pas hermétiques. Donc on se retrouvait avec de l’eau dans l’intégralité de la salle de bain, des bestioles tous les jours dans la chambre, les draps sales, la chambre en état lamentable (meubles bancales, coussins sales…) en bref, une chambre vétuste, démunie de confort et de classe pour un hôtel trois étoiles. Après avoir été à l’accueil pour expliquer la situation. L’une des employés a acquiescer. Elle n’avait pas l’air surprise de notre demande de changer de chambre et nous a dit que cela serait possible plus tard et en nous confirmant qu’on sera mieux dans l’autre partie de l’hôtel. L’hôtel étant complet nous avons pu changer de chambre seulement deux jours plus tard où nous avons retrouvé une chambre plus récente un peu plus convenable, mais avec ma foi des installations non terminées, voir pas du tout fonctionnelles. C’est dommage étant donné le cadre de cet hôtel, de plus nous avons été malade un soir avec la nourriture. Incompréhension quand au fait que 2 des piscines sur 3 et une partie de l’hôtel soit complètement réservés à une certaine partie de l’hôtel car sur le site et sur booking rien n’est indiqué.

Hotel with real potential, you get what you pay for

Breakfast buffet was a wide and good selection. We had access to all 3 pools which were all brilliant! The free activities including water skiing and yoga. Also enjoyed a Balinese massage! Staff were friendly and attentive, smiley and pleasant. This hotel is good for what you pay, food was good. It's seen better days, parts of it need some love and updating including some rooms and the website.

Communication between staff was inconsistent, for example yoga teacher thought it started at 5 but us and other guests 530 and all Comms said 530 but teacher was not happy. He also spent half the time talking about medication, interesting but not what we signed up for, did about 10mins for actual moving yoga. Poor lighting in the room and bathroom, very dark when curtains closed. Very loud Aircon unit, had to sleep with ear plugs as needed it on.

Le laisser allé de certains entretiens ( vitres sales , chaises et frigo très rouillés , les dépôts de mobiliers cassés , des bâtiments autour du restaurant buffet pas très accueillant voir sales. La plage n’ est pas propre , beaucoup de mégots de cigarettes , plastiques. Personnel de ce restaurant chic qui ne débarrasse pas la consommation des personnes précédentes qui donc t’ oblige de le faire toi même! Au niveau de la plage des cendriers seraient vraiment une bonnes initiatives afin de salir nos belles plages ! Buffet du soir , bon mais peut varier! Celui du petit déjeuner était parfait. Le jus d’ orange à notre arrivés est agréable! Je trouve que quelques améliorations au niveau de l’ entretien des chambres et des bâtiments serait pas mal surtout au niveau du prix demandés! Ne pas ce prendre en compte les photos du site ,car ça peut décevoir.

Océan Villas Hôtel, Grand Baie, What else ?

Dépaysement et magie de l'île Maurice que cet hôtel magnifie par l'accueil les soins et les services portés par tous les personnels. Les pieds dans l'eau au sortir de la chambre qui donne sur une piscine et pour les plus téméraires, l'accès à quelques pas, à l'océan qui vient caresser Grand baie !🏝️... La proximité de la ville et des moyens de transport peut éventuellement vous arracher à ce cadre idyllique, mais vous n'êtes pas obligés de vous soumettre. La chambre est vaste, la salle de bain avec douche et baignoire est de dimension agréable. La terrasse avec salon procure un espace extérieur qui est un véritable appel au repos... Vacances, ne rien avoir à penser d'autre que respecter le timing des repas, proposés sur une large plage horaire. Un buffet fourni, qui offre un large choix de mets de qualité tant au petit déjeuner que lors des autres repas. Un plus pour les dîners au son des voix et interprétations remarquables d'artistes talentueux, dont les performances pourraient surprendre certains mélomanes. Beaucoup de plaisir à partager ces moments et les espaces verdoyants comme les activités proposées avec les autres convives... Une sensation de légèreté et un bien être ressourçant. Ressourçant également la séance de massage balinais à la veille du départ pour profiter jusqu'au bout. Voilà ce à quoi peut ressembler un séjour à Océan Villas Hôtel 🤗...

Quelques petits incidents, tels que coupure d'eau probablement dûes à une sur-sollicitation aux heures de "pointe". Mais vraiment sans gêne aucune. Et c'est tout !...

Excellent séjour.

La configuration de l'hôtel en plusieurs petits immeubles. La plage privée. Le personnel souriant et bienveillant. Pas trop de clients, ce qui amène une ambiance familiale. La nourriture est très bonne et variée. La chambre est très belle. Je remercie énormément Les réceptionnistes, Gaëtan, Gillian et Dave. Ils m'ont accueilli comme la famille toujours souriants et gentils. Les réceptionnistes m'ont aidé à résoudre des problèmes. Je ne connais pas le prénom de tout le monde. Merci sincèrement à tous. Ne changez pas ! ps: Je travaille dans l'hôtellerie. Bon courage les collègues.❤️💪 Je penserai fortement à vous quand je pleurerai dans l'avion.😂.

Les toilettes et ma chambre n'ont pas de séparation donc pas d'intimité. La poussière sous les meubles. Il y a une vieille paire de chaussettes sous un meuble. Ce n'est pas grave mais d'autres clients pourraient être moins tolérant.

Enjoyable, relaxing but could have been so much more! Renovate the apartments.

Food was good. Staff were excellent and pool, grounds and beach were very nice.

The apartment we stayed was very dated. Decor was tired, windows were in poor condition and lighting in the apartment was truly awful. A program of renovation would benefit Ocean Villas and would absolutely enhance the overall experience of the stay there.

We were very happy and can highly recommend as a value for money destination.

The direct beach access to the private beach with beach furniture and umbrellas were fabulous, which included a free motorboat cruise around the bay, which was a highlight. The full buffet breakfast was excellent and the rooms were comfortable. The gardens were beautiful and well kept with abundant birdlife.

The buffet dinner was pricy, although we did enjoy the entertainment. However there are a number of good restaurants within walking distance.

room was comfortable and quiet with nice sea view ,however the bathroom badly needs a blind at the rear side .the privacy of the bathroom is jeopardized as the inside is visible through the poorly maintained thatched roof of the rear part.

The room design is odd, plugs too far from bed and the door to the bathroom leaves a gap where we could see one another on the toilet perfectly?! Food and location is good, but felt expensive for the standard of room.

The food was divine! Reception was always a great help.

On Monday the whole villa was cleaned and beds were made, except on room, it was not cleaned nor was the bed made. The beach is not that wow. We drove to another beach nearby everyday to enjoy.

Location and Rooms. Clean & neat. Ms. Tanuja was exceptionally cooperative and helpful.

1. Breakfast was very sad. We stayed there for 7 nights. The same cold breakfast was served every single day. No hot breakfast varieties catered for vegetarians, not even after requesting several times. Where breakfast was concerned, we were treated like a ping pong ball between the reception and the kitchen. Each would pass the buck to the other !!! But till the end of our stay were not served any hot breakfast. 2. Other staff, except Ms. Tanuja, was rude and non cooperative.

The breakfast and dinner. Even if u tell them what u want in dinner during breakfast and if you go for dinner by 9 PM everything is finished. I slept empty stomach one night. No coordination between reception and resturant manager. Breakfast was same for all 3 days we stayed. Overall very bad experience.

Your place needs Major work. It has potential to be something great.

I liked the view from the beach. The gentleman serving on the beach side restaurant was very nice and accommodating. The boat ride offered was great. The cold welcome drink on arrival. The guys on the boat was very nice.

TThe lady at reception when i arrived. She wasn't very nice or accommodating. Had an attitude. She made me wait while finishing her lunch. She didn't have change. Said she will have to get it later. She gave me handful of silver and said oh, it's 50 cent short. Just like that. That it is just ok not to pay someone the full amount owed back. It's not a lot, I know. It's the principle. I showed her the app said I could check in at 8h30 even though I was there at 12pm, she would not let me check in. She just took a pic. Not offering an alternate room that is ready. No answer at reception ever or bar when you call. She said she called the restaurant 3 times to look for me to check me in supposedly. She could've called my cell like the evening receptionist did. The place looks like it's falling apart. The television didn't work The room is too HOT. The aircon doesn't cool the whole place. The toilet flush button wasn't wiped down I cleaned it when i got there and they said the room was being sanitized. There is no shower door, so water is FLOODING the whole bathroom around the toilet. Which I'm supposed to clean up???? You don't offer a la carte option or smaller menu option when you have a buffet. Let people know that it's buffet so that they can change their plans in advance for dinner. There is no communication between staff as the evening receptionist called and arranged for me to check out at 12pm . At 11h30am they called to say check out is at 11am. Why was this not communicated. We were already out of the room by the way. Just having a last drink. Staff needs training.

very rude kitchen staff, dreadful food, refused to serve us a mocktail without one ingredient we can’t have due to allergies because it’s “not how the mocktail should be made”. told that foods didn’t contain dairy when they did when I had explained I’m allergic! pool area needs a good looking after, tiles falling off. the place is dirty the toilet as the spa was vile, mould everywhere

Very relaxed and welcoming. The staff make this hotel due totheir happy and friendly nature. Ideally located. Stunning views. Very relaxing. It was very quiet as the island still waiting for tourism industry to recover the sme as everywhere else.

There could have been live music a few more nights during the week. Food was a little repetive.
