About this house rental
Great place for family gatherings! Large kitchen with gas stove and oven. Now with Starlink Wi-Fi! Come enjoy the perfect waterfront get-a-way at Shore Fun! Located on the sandy shores of the Corrotoman River, Shore Fun offers activity for the entire family. Salt water pool (upgraded summer 2023 opens early May to late September) , hot tub, large sand beach, deep water dock, kayaks, fishing, crabbing are all at your fingertips.
The house offers 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, full kitchen, WiFi (upgraded to Starlink for late 2023), game room with pool table, washer/dryer, fireplace, central air/heat, deck with great view of the water, salt water pool. There is a 200' private pier for your enjoyment and docking your boat. We are dog friendly!
Shore Fun is located across the street from Yankee Point Marina. The marina offers boat rentals, boat ramp, pool with snack bar, live music during the summer Friday and Saturday nights, kayak rentals, restaurant and convenience store all within walking distance! Take your car on the free ferry into Kilmarnock to enjoy shopping, restaurants, wineries, art galleries, Compass Entertainment complex (Arcade, batting cages, bumper cars, rope course, climb walls, go-carts, ice skating, kid play area, mini golf, virtual reality, movie theater, and restaurant), live music, and museums.
Bring or rent a boat and pull up to some of the best restaurants. The original Merrior Tasting Room, Tides Inn and Urbanna Seafood Restaurant & Raw Bar or play a game of beach volleyball at Windmill Point Tiki Bar.
Kayak with dolphins or watch the Rock fish at the end of the dock!
We do require a signed contract and copy of your government ID. There are 2 outdoor security cameras. Motor boat is not part of the rental.

We enjoyed this lovely house for a family weekend. Grandparents, parents, teenage kids, and little kids. House was great fit for all - beach, pool, dock, great fishing, etc. We definitely look to stay here again!

The house is even more lovely in person, the neighborhood is quiet. Great communication with the owners. My three teens had fun together and my husband and I were even able to go sit and listen to the waves by ourselves.

Loved the house, setting and experience. Cindy was easy to work with and the house was as shown in the pictures.
Lots to do for tweens and adults: the pool with its toys kept them busy for hours, and the pier/sandy beach were fantastic for birdwatching over morning coffees. The kayaks were a welcome way to tour around the area, and there were so many other things to do, we didn’t get to half of them!
The nearby marina (5 min walk) has food and live music on some nights - it’s worth checking out for those nights when you want to see other people.
Our only “complaint” was that there wasn’t enough time to do everything! Thank you!

House was awesome. Plenty of room for 3 families and the dogs. The fishing pier was a game changer for our family of fisherman and the kayaks were so much fun to use. This house has officially set the bar for our big family for all future trips. Thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful home!

We had a great vacation here! The house is very pretty and we had lots of fun hanging out at the pool, paddle boarding, kayaking and crabbing off the dock. No luck fishing😞. We were definitely not bored on the property. Supplies and cookware were very well stocked! The house is fairly clean, but don’t look under the beds. As stated in the description of the house the nearest trash site was about 15 to 20 mins away. It does take away from the relaxation as we had to make a few trips just for trash. The only other issue we had was the Wi-Fi. After reading other reviews, I can see we were not the only ones. We understand that there’s only so much that can be done and Cindy did her best to help. Even using a hotspot, it was very sporadic and probably shouldn’t be advertised as having Wi-Fi. However, we would definitely stay here again.

This trip went from good to bad to ugly fast. The very first thing that we realized immediately was there was no WI-FI. The listing says there is WFFI. We notified the owner right away and it was suggested that we use a hot spot, yet that was not possible so we had to drive places to make a call or use the internet. We had adults that were taking a working vacation and this made things very stressful for them. The grill was full of grease and debris and caught fire when we tried to use it. The pool was really dirty and not running and the hot tub cover was really hard to take off and on . The bed sheets in the master bedroom were ripped and there was no replacement ones ,so the landscaper had to come over bring us some. The oven broke and we could not cook so, all the food we had bought to cook had to be dumped($300 dollars in groceries). Speaking of dump, the owner requires that you drive 30 minutes to the town dump at the end of the stay to dispose off all trash. Well we did this 2 times during our trip and were sure to empty all bins when we left yet the owner said we had not remove all the trash and wanted to charge us extra money! We where refunded by owner for dinner but it seemed like they didn’t really care.

This was our second time staying at Shore Fun and we hope to have our family meet here again next year. Fully stocked kitchen, great deck with screened porch for family dinners and the view can't be beat. Cindy is an excellent host and has thought of everything to make your vacation here a special time!

So relaxing , wildlife abounds, ( eagles nest must be near) a comfortable home with lovely view, a perfect dock, beautiful sandy beach, hot tub, pool, kayaks, screened in porch, deck with a view, on and on. Plenty of bed space for kids, everything we needed!

We absolutely loved being there. The house was amazing. We spent most of the time crabbing and fishing. At the end of the day it was nice to comeback and relax in the hot tub

This home is fantastic. More than enough room for our whole family, great pool, hot tub and pier! Room to congregate together and room for slipping away to read a book. Gas cooktop and fully stocked gourmet kitchen. Three fridges! Cindy has thought of everything to make you feel right at home on the Rivah! Thank you so much for a great time away to relax and enjoy family!

High End Finishes with Everything You Need
Beautiful view, nice open family spaces, very well appointed kitchen. Teens loved the pool table. Having kayaks available was a huge plus as we had great weather even in December. Extra beds in rec room also great for the kids to spread out. Immediate communication when needed.

Great Stay
The house was perfect! Our family had a long weekend getaway and the location and home was wonderful. Plenty of space for family meals and sleeping options throughout. The pool, hot tub, and dock were all in great shape and the fishing was a blast. Nothing but great things to say about our stay! My family and I would absolutely stay again.

River Getaway
Beautiful home with ample space for a large family to spread out and enjoy. Well stocked kitchen and gas grill made cooking simple. The private dock was great, and the location on the river allowed us lots of fun boating with the whole family. Bring bug spray and board games as the cell service and wifi are a struggle. Also be prepared to take your garbage to the landfill as there is no garbage service. Overall the entire family enjoyed the house, pool and riverfront location. We would definitely return for another visit to shore fun!

My Family and friends had an amazing time at this beautiful home. There was so much to do between the pool, the dock, the water toys,the hot tube and the fire pit . A fisherman’s dream!! The kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of gadgets. Cindy, the owner was great with communicating and answering any questions. I highly recommend this home for a peaceful outdoors family getaway !!

Amazing family vacation
This home was a perfect getaway. With a pool, hot tub, dock, and shore area, it was a true gem. It was so easy to swim and do different things throughout the day with our toddler and baby. The house was beautiful on the inside too. Great kitchen and tons of space. I highly recommend this property.

The house is really special, with plenty of room and a beautiful setting, and the host has gone above and beyond in stocking the property with everything you need to make for a fun and relaxing stay - plus, she is incredibly responsive to any questions or issues that arise. Perfect Rivah Getaway
What an amazing home. Our kids loved the hot tubs and canoes and we loved the views and privacy. It is very secluded but we brought the food we needed for our visit and really enjoyed ourselves.

This is such a wonderful vacation house. The property is ideal for fun and relaxation. Private, comfortable and dog friendly. The house was so spacious. The kitchen was stocked with all necessary items for cooking. The outside deck, screened porch, pool area and hot tub was great. We all enjoyed the dock, fishing, crabbing, and having access to kayaks, paddle boards and a canoe was a real plus. As well as, the beach area with the fire pit for smores and star gazing at night. The owner was quick to respond to any questions and provided a great experience for our stay. Our family had a great time and a very special family trip.

Superior management, excellent communications, cleanliness that out-does 5 star hotels and amenities galore - You really can't ask for more.

Secluded oasis
Relaxing vacation with a gorgeous view. Pool was a must with the temps, lots to do, kayak, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, crabbing, fire by the beach. House was amazing and clean. We had 11 of us, all different ages and plenty to do for all. Great time, and when we communicated with Cindy she was so responsive.

Had a wonderful time. The pool, beach and all the things there to enjoy were the best. Was disappointed to find left over trash and maggots in one of the garbage cans and tried to clean it out the best we could...But very comfortable house and just had a wonderful time. Will come back again!

Beautiful River Getaway!
What a beautiful property! We went with friends for the weekend. The kids loved playing in the pool and on the beach. Adults loved sitting by the river and watching the fish off the dock at night! It was a great weekend!

This was a great place for me, my wife, and a few friends. Very relaxing and a warm hospitable home. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to experience life on the northern neck.

Amazing time with family and friends.
The pool was a great amenity to have, as was the boat dock with 30 amp service and plenty of deep water for the bigger boats. Everyone loved the crabbing, paddle boards and kayaks. The house was comfortable, clean and as promised. The dock light at night is great for the kids, tons of little fish swimming through and what our son called a ‘fish whirlpool’. Cindy has really thought of everything to make the stay a memorable one.
Remember to bring bug spray, you are in the country, and you’ll be just fine.

WOW What a Week
Shore Fun gave us a wonderful family of 12 vacation. We all had a glorious time. The pool was refreshing. The kyds really enjoyed it as did the adults. The house was roomy. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that was not so great were the mosquitos. They did wait till 5pm everyday to invade so the screened in porch was fantastic. I highly recommend this property.
