Lovely Cottage - good value

A pretty cottage with good outside space and views. The upper bedroom/ lounge area is lovely. Perfect for our 2 night stopgap stay

The towelling sheets on the double bed were somewhat disconcerting - surely cotton should be the only option. The initial communication from Rui was comprehensive and allowed us to get into the property at our late arrival time however none of my further messages intended to keep him updated and reassured were acknowledged nor responded to.

I’d highly recommend casa Formiga when travelers are looking for accommodations away from Funchal.

This property has a stunning view of the water below, the agricultural hillside and is remote, offering the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the countryside. We loved having access to hiking trails that left from the property, and returning to a full kitchen that allowed us to cook and relax in the evening. The appliances, dishwasher and washing machine worked perfectly and the high speed internet connection allowed us to send work emails and video conference. Gabriel is the perfect host!

Correct mais accès par voiture difficile.

La petite maison est mignone et confortable. Mais...

L'accès est terrible (ne vous y engage pas si votre voiture est un peut basse) Côte à 22%, largeur de route pour une voiture mais à double sens... Et pour accéder au parking on peut vraiment y laisser le pare-chocs. De plus la communication sur l'accès c'est fait très tard Et nous n'avons reçu aucun accueil (message en disant les clefs sont sur la porte...). De plus du linge séché dehors et pour utiliser le singe linge nous avons du le plier.... Nous nous sommes garé sur la route avant la côte. De plus le beau jardin ne ressemble pas du tout aux photos... (pas de transat, hammac ou autre...) Une table avec deux sièges et des coussins déchiré...

Niestety dla 4 osób tak , ale mieszkając na górze musisz się liczyć że dwie osoby na dole będą wszystko słyszały. Każdy krok i nawet ciche rozmowy. Dla rodziny tak. Dla przyjaciół nie! Uwaga na wjazd.Niski samochod może dotknąć zderzakiem wjazdu.

A good place

The house is really cozy space that you have all for yourself. It's not the most modern apartament I've been to, but it has it's vibe. For this price it's much more than I would expect. You have a perfect view from the patio, a parking, the beds are comfy, the kitchen has everything what we needed. Smooth check-in any time. Definitely I would come back.

Todo genial, el tiempo no acompaño, habia frio y lluvia. Pero no nos impidió salir a ver la isla y en la casa se estaba muy bien, muy tranquilo y silencïoso. Justo en la entrada a la calle de la casa hay una pequeña venta y bar que esta regentado por una pareja mayor muy agradable. En frente un restaurante con buena valoracion. Alquilar coche, por supuesto, pero no grande, la entrada a la casa es amplia pero hay desnivel y un pequeño muro que lo puede rozar. Lugar muy recomendable.

No es que no me gustara, pero cambiaria el lavavajillas por una secadora ☺️

Little vacation home with an amazing and sunny view

Very good value for money. Friendly host Gabriel. Very well equipped house and kitchen. Great view onto the ocean to see the sunset and in a calm environment.

The doors in the groundfloor don’t shut properly and the mattresses are a bit worn out which doesn’t allow for the best sleep in a thus perfect environment.

Look no more! Rustig en goed uitgerust huis met slaapkamer en mezzanine met 2 bedden - 45min Funchal

Het uitzicht, zuidwestgericht met zicht op de oceaan Het huis op zich, ruime keuken alsook de slaapkamer. De kamer in de mezzanine is op zich ruim met 2 zetels, een bureau en 2 bedden. Ook van hieruit is er zicht via 2 kleine ramen op de oceaan. De keuken is zeer goed uitgerust, met toestellen alsook bestek, borden, enz De ruimte voor het huis is uistekend met een zithoek, ligstoelen, parking (ruim), zonparasols beschikbaar alsook een houten oven.

Niets op aan te merken, letterlijk niets!

Que reserve para disfrutar del alojamiento privado y lleganron dos personas más que habían alquilado también así que tuvimos compartimos el alojamiento con dos desconocidos. Lo cual generó incomodidad, falta de privacidad.

Beautiful little house with astonishing view and wonderful host

Beautiful little house with astonishing view. Plenty of space inside with a master bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining area downstairs, and an upstairs area with two additional beds, sofa and working desk. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need and has a little garden and parking space outside with lots of different seating. It’s a peaceful and quiet place, no noises. The owner Gabriel is very welcoming and gave great tips where to go and where to eat. He gave great information about the island. The stay was wonderful and I can highly recommend this place when visiting Madeira.

Pěkné místo s atmosférou v přátelské vesničce

Krásné místo, úžasný výhled na moře, klid, příjemní lidé ve vesničce. Pokud chcete poznat opravdový život na vesnici, je to pravé místo. Skvělá malinká rodinná restaurace 5 minut chůze - výborné jídlo, nadstandardně ochotná obsluha, skvělý zážitek! Malý obchůdek, kde se schází obyvatelé na posezení, otevřený dlouho do noci. Zařízení výborné, parkování na vlastním pozemku za plotem. Pan Gabriel milý.

Bohužel uvnitř byla hodně cítit zatuchlost z vlhkosti, dům je ve svahu a zadní strana domu je v podstatě v zemi.

В общем то, вы живете в деревне. Не стоит ждать комфорта, как в 5 звездах, удобства уровня деревенской бабушки, хотя это очень мило.

Standalone House with farmland around Great place for 2 people to share or family with 2 kids above 7 years Only 1 bathroom to share Good size grounds overlooking the sea Everything you need to cook.. Nice feel to the accommodation A bbq room with chimney and woods. We were a couple. With a hire car... .. No problems for us.

Very Steep hill down.... suppose that's normal. In a peaceful location going down towards the sea. Ladder style steps to 2nd bedroom suitable for 7 to 16 year old or early 20s. Not easy to go to loo during night due to loft ladder steps. Great den though!!! . Could be an adventure for some kids.. Very steep steps. Accommodation has one bathroom to share on the ground floor only... Could be an issue for those sleeping upstairs if they need the loo during the night.due to ladder type steps

Superb

The house is amazing, there is everything you might need and more, kitchen equipment, washing mashine, even the heater. All clean. In the garden there is a place to sit with an amazing view.

I did not have any contact from the owner at all. It would not be a problem, if I just got the information, where I can find the key, but on the day of arrival (I wrote a message about expected time of arrival), when we came to the place, there were all the lights turned off and main door closed. I tried to call couple of times to the owner, but no responce. After some time we noticed there are second door, which had a key, but as it was dark and we got no information, it took us some time to notice that and we were already afraid we'd have to stay somewhere else.

A wonderful vacation in nature

In a beautifully decorated house in the middle of flowers, you have everything you need (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave oven, toaster, coffee machine, all food preparation equipment, iron, vacuum cleaner, ... - even binoculars and a telescope for observing the starry sky). It is wonderfully peaceful in harmony with nature! The host is very helpful and friendly.

The quality of the house and its equipment. It is design very well and with a lot of passion. We felt like home from the begining.

The facility is operated by external staff, they may not recognised small maintanance needs (i.e. watertap handle in the shower was not fixed well).
