Really liked the hotel, better than the pictures. We considered the option to be wild and not crowded. The villas are surrounded by wild plants and palm trees, liked the location, just 10 minutes walk from the beach. The rooms are equipped so that you feel alone in the villa. Lovely pool near reception and in the villa itself. Good breakfast of both European and Chinese cuisine. Polite, helpful and friendly staff. Even with language barrier always try to help, through translator. The hotel exceeded expectations, great view and walk to the room for lovers of Asian wildlife. Will definitely visit you again, thank you.

it was pretty, and it was clean
their focus is on a very specific demographic. If you do not fall within that specific demographic, it is not a five-star hotel. It’s more of an over priced situation. The area is located in is also not ideal for people outside their target demographic. Their target demographic is mainland Chinese people.

I liked the beautiful territory of the hotel, clean rooms, a decent breakfast. The efficient service of the staff, they tried hard to accommodate me after not being satisfied with the first room option. The second room was better, though it wasn't a villa, it was with no odour and pretty quiet, nice view from the balcony.
It took me an hour to check-in.

Very green hotel, like a tropical park. If want to save some money during long-time stay --- can chose this hotel. But it is ok for those, who do not stay in room all the time. Better to spend all the time on the beach or travel around, and only come back for rest.
Our pool was not very clean. Average breakfast. Bathroom stinks very badly, with many black insects crawling out of pipes every night. We had to put a towel on the floor under the door to stop those insects from crawling into the room.

The villa is quiet and not busy like many other resorts in the area. The stay is very close to the beach. The staff is attentive and responsive. The rooms and villas are very clean. We appreciated that they gave different varieties of food during breakfast. The bed in the villa was incredibly comfortable.
We don’t have any complaints.

Beautiful surrounds, peaceful, lovely garden, nice pool and very well located, not on the beach but 5 minutes walk from the beach.
Breakfast can be hectic, crowded and not very well organized, staff tries their best but the facilities aren’t big enough for the amount of customers.

Best place I have stayed in China. Great facilities, really friendly staff, very close to beach, 5 min walk. really comfortable and easy to get around. Only downside is a beach front dominated by large hotel resorts, so beach has limited offerings, there are ,shopping areas but they lack character. Would definately stay at hotel again but get a,taxi to another beach..
Beach was OK but quite stale, had all you need but nothing special. Much better beaches on island.

Absolutely gorgeous grounds … tropical and lush with a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking a natural river - felt like I was back in Bali! Comfortable bed and large bathroom with tub. Shuttle service to the beach, but not really needed as it’s right across the street using a shortcut through another hotel property.
I didn’t have the warmest reception at the desk when I first checked in. The first woman who served me didn’t greet me and was almost bordering on rude. She
actually walked away from me and someone else stepped in to serve me. Not sure about the reason for this. Everyone else on the staff was exceptionally nice, from the other receptionists to the grounds people and the bellboys.

We liked our stay ! Location is great , beach is close , have swimming pool towels , clean bath tube and clean room , good swimming pool , so we could chill in the evening there before sleep.
We didn’t book breakfast from hotel but were ordering our owns :) cars always there to pick you up and bring you any place of villas you need, overall experience very great ! We enjoy our stay , maybe go back next year for more days
Nothing to complain about , our experience was great

Fair sized balcony, large shower, pool water was very clean. 5 minutes walking to the beach - if you want to call this an advantage.
The breakfast canteen had the flair and noise level of a train station. There were luckily few outdoor tables, but far away from buffet. The main restaurant (the only one open for lunch or dinner) had bad acoustics as well.
The pool needs a renewal. Due to cracks in the tiles it was partly not usable.
If you stay in one of the regular hotel rooms (not in a villa) outdoor areas are very small and in fact limited to the pool terrace and a fish pond around the lobby.

If you like fruit, salad or dried Chinese food, you will enjoy the breakfast. The pool is really quite nice and not busy. Staff tried to help us, despite our limited Chinese skills.
The room was just okay for the price. Don't go to breakfast from 9 to 10 otherwise you will probably have to share a table and maybe fight for a seat. We never did find the spa- there is a Chinese medicine centre somewhere, perhaps that is what is referred to. The "bar" has alcohol but I was told that only bottled beer was available when I asked for the cocktail menu.

The resort itself feels like it could be a community where people reside full time. Each villa has 4 bottom rooms and 1 on the top floor. Each villa has a private pool. I like the privacy aspect if with a group.
The lake is scenic and the location to restaurants makes it ideal for getting out and experiencing the surrounding area.
The breakfast was good.
The facilities are nice, but a little dated. I've stayed in 8 resorts in Sanya in the last year and this was one I was really wanting to visit and never did previously. All the reviews were very high so I had equally high hopes. The location isn't great if you're hoping to be directly on the beach. You'll need to walk about 600 meters down the road to the public beach. Although I like Yalong Bay the best of the bays, this portion, because it's public is a bit dirty. You'll need to rent an umbrella for 100 RMB.
Each villa has a private pool with no real shade. It's probably nice if you're with a group and renting an entire villa, but if alone it diminishes the feel of being in a resort with nice views and being around other travelers to converse.
The rooms are big enough, but they are slightly dated, and somewhat dirty in the bathroom. By dirty I mean needing repairs in the masonry.
I was expecting more options at breakfast since the reviews were so high.
I only stayed one night, but it would be nice if they offered activities on the small lake such as canoeing.
The shared pool at the main lobby area was small and didn't seem like it was used much.

It's very beautiful. The villa was lovely and clean and calling the car to get a ride to reception and breakfast or the main entrance was easy and a nice (but necessary) service to offer. We did enjoy our stay, and the food at breakfast was delicious and one of the largest varieties we've ever seen. Could use more English around the resort, on menus and that kind of thing, but this is pretty par for the course in Sanya.
Horrible communication. Across two months of having booked early with this hotel, and after being unable to call, I messaged them more than a dozen times after asking a question about a meeting I needed to have while there and only received one response in which they hadn't even properly read the question or made any attempt to answer it. I hate to mark a place down so severely because of that, but their hotel reception was filled with staff, there's no way responding to booking queries is too much to ask, so if you have any special requests you need met, I'd call and try to confirm it before booking, or look elsewhere.
Breakfast gets slammed and there's a heck of a lot of staff standing around waiting to be asked to clear tables for people to find a place to sit.
Also, no decent coffee. A place charging this much could invest in machine I think.

The Villa itself is good value. Nice size. Pool is a great size! can properly swim in it. The outside pagoda and bed almost comfy enough to stay on all night. But....
There is essentially no service. No opportunity to get choices of wine. The photo on Booking is not representative of the garden - not even able to walk at the end of the pool I had. There are no sun loungers only the pagoda which is in shade. T
The worst thing is the description "BEACH FRONT" its NOT. Its around 1km to the beach. Its second row back behind the MGM.
This is not the experience I ordered...
There was no English speakers, appreciate this is my fault, but when initial booked I emailed and was responded to in Chinese that I used a translation that asked "please call" - i did but no one understood me :-( why couldnt the hotel converse on email with a translation service? There are enough.

Nice location, very helpful staff, nice Polynesian, bohemian atmosphere, very comfortable room, great views from the balcony
There was loud music coming from the restaurant the next lane early in the evening. The pool was freezing (January), very limited room service menu, very few choices for drinks available at the bar (only 2 kinds of beer)

The private villas are very nice, when you speak Chinese it's very good. Very calm and peaceful.
How to start... I arrived at the lobby, nobody was speaking English, and too afraid to talk to me. When I managed to make myself understand they didn't find my reservation. When I gave them my passport they panicked and when behind for a long time to process the problem. I think I waited for 2 hours at the reception for many different problems. They so directed me to the restaurant while waiting saying that my room wasn't ready... I execute myself, go to the restaurant. No English menu, no English speakers, and when I order something: NO MORE. When I finally obtain my room card, I discover... that it's not the room that I paid for... Two single beds rather than a master... Oh and they also told me to pay in advance while the website was saying that the payment was made automatically... anyways. They tell me that they put me into a two beds room because they didn't have one bid bed anymore. NOT MY PROBLEM. The next day they so upgraded me to a bigger room, fortunately. But no one indicated me the Wi-Fi password, the TV wasn't working, the room service wasn't working, the AC wasn't working...

Staff were very good.
Hotel part of the complex had been modernised, well laid out rooms with great views. Tree covered hills and palm trees when facing away from the coast, otherwise you would have a view of other hotels, no actual sea view possible.
Great surroundings.
Originally booked their cheapest villa with private pool. Sounded flash! It’s actually a building with at least 4 double rooms built in. Pool area is pretty shaded and it’s grounds were not much cared for. Room seriously needed modernisation. Gaps around the windows and patio doors that can’t be opened due to being boarded shut top and bottom let too many wildlife critters into the room. I have to believe the more expensive villas are better, but for sure the hotel type rooms in the 3 story complex were better. Worth noting a street back from the beach is enough to rob you of most any sea breeze during very hot days.
Did I mention the great surroundings.
