Beste Wahl für einen gelungenen Stadturlaub

Sehr gute Lage, um in Edinburgh etwas zu unternehmen. Es handelt sich um ein altes Townhouse, dessen Zimmer zu Gästezimmern mit Bad umgebaut wurden.Es hat auf jeden Fall mehr Atmosphäre als die bekannten Hotelketten und ist für die Lage recht günstig. Der Stadtbus hält direkt in der Straße, so dass auch weiter entfernte Ziele gut erreicht werden können. Wir haben von diesem Standort aus wunderbar die Stadt kennen lernen können.

Einrichtung und vor allem Teppichböden wirken etwas in die Jahre gekommen, ein hoher Standard würde anders aussehen, ist aber zu diesem Preis auch kaum erwartbar. Die Webseite erweckt andere Erwartungen, einige Bewertungen dort loben seltsamerweise das nicht angebotene Frühstück. Dies ist aber eine Kritik auf hohem Niveau, wir würden immer wieder dort buchen und können das Hotel empfehlen!

Fantastic location, great staff, and adequate facilities to explore the city of Edinburgh.

Staff was so helpful and friendly, and they gave us tips and tricks for the city. They also carried our bags up to our room - such a perk because our room was on the top floor and there isn't an elevator. The room was kept so clean, and the shower had nice hot water.

It was quite expensive for a single room with a small-ish shower. I assume that was because of an event going on during our stay, though.

千万不能住这个酒店像抢劫一样！太恐怖了！住进这个酒店差点搭进两条人命，旅游回来一直住在医院，病倒了！我68和我85岁的先生在Booking上订的这家民宿，去爱丁堡旅游，入住了这家属于私人民宿，我们4月22号入住，里面没有冰箱，没有微波炉，基本的床头柜都没有，洗手间在外面过道，我们所有的日用的东西包括吃的药只能放在地上，我们是26号早上离店，25号我们出门时关门就打不开房门，后来服务员告诉我们，他们会叫人来修理，晚上回来就可以了，我们下午4点回到旅店，服务员叫我把钥匙给他，我认为他帮助我们开房间，他拿过钥匙告诉我们，你们不能进房间，他们把我所有的东西，吃的用的穿的全部用黑色垃圾袋装上，甩在了门外堆垃圾房间，我当时气晕倒在了地上，因为我有高血压和心脏病，我老公问他们为什么？他们告诉我们在房间里发现有一个烧水用的很小电锅，因为我有胃病不能喝冷牛奶，之前旅馆没有任何提示和告知不能用，因为这个原因他们没有任何告知的情况下，把我所以东西甩在门外，再不让我们上楼进到房间，我老公要上🚾他们都不让，这简直是惨无人道极致！欺负两个无助的老人！我当时也打了Booking的人工求助电话，我吃着救心丸药在地上躺了两个小时，旅馆没有任何人管，后来警察来说是帮助我们转去另外的酒店住一晚，我要求退还我们一晚的钱，警察告诉我们，等Booking跟旅馆商量后退还给我们，因为我们两个都是老年人，当时非常无助！是警察帮助我们找了一个离火车站最近的一家酒店，非常感谢警察是他们帮助我们把甩在外面的东西装上车送到了新的酒店，168镑我们自己付的，当时警察告诉我们让我们垫付，以后解决后旅馆把钱退给Booking后再把钱补给我们！至今没有得到任何解决，因为我回来气得生病一直没有恢复，如果不给我一个合理的解决和道歉，我会通过法律手段解决！希望大家用爱心一起来谴责这种不良商家！他们用卑鄙手段侵犯消费者合法权益！关爱老人和弱势群体！谢谢大家！

Bueno lo peor de la ciudad es el aeropuerto es de un pais tercermundista vergonzoso.

Cometimos error a elegir una habitación en piso alto ya que la escalera es bastante dificil, pero la propiedad lo habia advertido, con lo que ha sido responsasbilidad nuestra, esta bien ubicado es mas centrico de lo que aparenta y la gente del barrio han sido muy amables y educados con nosotros.

Czysty hotel położony bardzo blisko starego miasta i zamku. Personel pomocny. Kawa i herbata uzupełnieniana codziennie.

Bardzo stary budynek wymagający gruntowego remontu, z całą pewnością nie jest to hotel dla wymagających gości z ograniczeniami ruchowymi przez wzgląd na stronę schody.

Ein guter Platz für einen Besuch in Edinburgh.

Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war sehr gut, die Lage sehr zentral, Busse in Reichweite, man konnte sogar gut zu Fuß in die Innenstadt laufen. Quasi um die Ecke herum liegt ein schöner Park.

Die Matratze war wirklich gut, allerdings bereits einseitig etwas abgenutzt, dadurch entstand ein leichtes Gefälle. Durch die Einfachverglasung hörte man recht viel Straßengeräusche, allerdings gab es sehr leise Stunden in der Nacht.

Lovely room in a perfect location

Fantastic location near lots of great bars, restaurants, and shops. Easy walking access to many parts of the city.

No lift and our room was on third floor. Didn’t bother us but something to note for anyone with mobility concerns

Great room in Edinburgh, nice and close to main attractions.

Location was great, the room was clean and quite large. Self check in and check out were fairly easy and it was a great base to explore the city from.

The toilet didn’t appear to be attached to the wall properly so was a bit unstable.

Locatie prima, daarom voldoende, wel prijzig.

Prima locatie. 15 minuten lopen naar centrum was prima. Bed en linnengoed was schoon.

Deur naar badkamer klemde heel erg. Erg kleine wastafel. Badkamer slecht afgewerkt, kieren en gaten en vieze kitranden. Muis op de kamer.

La ubicación. Camas y almohadas cómodas.

Habitación vieja. El suelo levantado, ventana muy dejada. Necesitan hacer mucha reforma. Y aparte un tercer inquilino...un ratón!!.Pedimos un cambio de habitación y nos cambiaron. Para no repetir.

Very close to everything and some great cafes/restaurants near by. It was quite clean and bed was comfortable.

There was a mouse in our room one night. And remember there is no lift/elevator in this property (not uncommon) so be prepared to carry your suitcases up 1-3 flights of stairs - wasn’t much of an issue for us but might be for other people.

Poor value for money but comfortable enough

Quiet with a garden view .. nice bathroom .. comfy beds

The room and stairwell were unfinished .. decorating / refurb still ongoing. Small room. Only one set of stairs at top of building. No other fire exit. No breakfast available. No staff on site at night. Parking very difficult nearby. Expensive .. I guess due the to Fringe Festival

Hotel is great with a wonderful location But there is no elevator & our room was on the top floor.

The room was great. The hotel had a great location.

There was no elevator, and we were on the third floor. I am disabled and there wasn't anything in the advertisement about having to climb 3 full flights of stairs.

Disappointing, and for the price. It's our fault we didn't plan earlier to get a better hotel.

Good neighborhood; well connected to central area by several buses; several very nice breakfast cafes very close by

Bathroom was very disappointing, not clean, cheap materials -- the sink wasn't even in the bathroom, it was in the room!! Water stains on the ceiling, walls dirty. We also saw mice, but we understand that the manager can't do much about that. The owner could have made a "commercial offer" (un geste commercial) to compensate but did not.

Location, garden view, room size, cleanliness.

We stayed in room 12. There were plumbing issues. Sink in the room was clogged even after getting it fixed. Bathroom was very small. Mattress was sinking and very uncomfortable.

Disappointing

Fire hazard. We were on the top floor of the old building with no alternative way of escape other than the main stairs. We requested another room but none were available. Our experience would have no doubt been better had we been on a lower floor.

Great location. Disappointing stay.

Location is great.

We had no interaction with the owners/management. We knew the double room will be small, but it was REALLY tiny and it is definitely not recommended for a long stay. When two suitcases are open, there’s no space left to walk around the bed and the cupboard space is minuscule. The mattress in our room (23) was really uncomfortable. We didn’t had a good night sleep at all. I’m not someone who complains or give negative reviews, but of our 3 week vacation in Europe and the UK, this was unfortunately the worst stay.

Very disappointing.

Nothing at all. The beds were under a staircase, where one could hit ones head on getting out of bed. No arrangement for breakfast. No staff available at the Guesthouse at any time. Cleanliness poor; beds made haphazardly. Used toiletries with broken caps of the bottles. Can provide photographs as evidence/proof of the above.

Everything was poor. Needs drastic overall improvement.

Very good

This property is in a great location with a bus stop right out front and restaurants easy walking. The guest house is a great building but seems to be in a transition of parents handing over to son management. Lots of construction project stuff visible , keys that are challenging to get to work, no gathering space for guests inside or out although there is a huge back yard but our view of it from our window was all the construction debris The owner/ father is nice as can be but son not. We arrived 5 pm and our first meeting was the next am. Noone said good morning or introduced themselves as owners when I went looking for someone to ask a few questions. Our shampoo was a half used bottle of head and shoulders, when asked if any other options, son says no, you can go to the store to buy your own . father over heard and provided an alternative. Father the next day was very friendly and identified himself as the owner for 20 years and son is taking over. Furnishings have seen better days, So much potential with this property!!!!

no place to hang your towels by the sink which is in your room, not in the bathroom and no counter for using your toiletries. closet would do better with shelving vs a big empty space. refrigerator w cycling on and off so loudly I got up at night and turned it off. our front door and room key were a challenge to get open. This really is a great location and building that could be so much better

Very good location but room disappointing

Very good location, very quiet, good communication with owners before we arrived, very good information on the area.

The room number on the message from the owners was different from the one in the slip of paper in the box so we were trying to get into the wrong room at approx 11.30pm and there were quests already in the room! Also, we found our room by a process of elimination on the 3rd floor as there was no number on the door.The room did not look like the pictures shown. Maybe it was just our room.It looked unfinished in places and there was dust on the reading lamps and the hairdryer.. lWhen we closed the shutters some of the mortar had fallen out of the wall. It was difficult to get clothes in and out of the wardrobe if you slept in the outside bed.Also, we left our towels in the shower to be changed after 3 days and they weren't changed. As mentioned above there were positives too.As the weather was very good we were out doing a lot of sightseeing.

We hope to be able to stay at the Valentine City Center Guest House again.

The property owners, father and son, were on site daily. They could not have been more helpful or accommodating.

There was nothing we disliked about the property or stay at the Valentine City Center Guesthouse.

Exceptional

The room was very nice, in terms of both size and quietness. We rarely heard noise from other guests. The location was great and also quiet. We were not far from many attractions. Plus, there are bus, train and tram stations nearby.

Great location. Easy to access the room at night! Nice window view, so good for a few nights!
