Bon rapport qualité-prix à Dakar

Bon séjour dans l’ensemble, et bon rapport qualité-prix pour Dakar. Chambre spacieuse (suite) et espace extérieur décoré avec goût, personnel plutôt agréable et réactif. Bonne localisation dans le cadre de mon séjour mais il faut savoir que l’hôtel est situé dans un quartier peu touristique sans restaurants et sites d’intérêt aux alentours.

De manière générale, comme indiquent de nombreux commentaires, l’hôtel pourrait être bien mieux si une plus grande attention aux détails était donnée, notamment en termes de propreté dans la salle de bain. Petit-déjeuner plutôt complet mais assez gras et industriel. La Wifi fonctionnait très mal dans la chambre (interruptions incessantes) mais bien dans les parties communes.

Young, cosy accommodation

Well located, young, comfortable accommodation. Breakfast is plentiful, the breakfast area is very pleasant.

You cannot pay by card and you can only pay in local currency.

nuisance sonore dès 8h du matin au RDC liées au patio servant de terrasse de petit déjeuner et tard le soir par clients qui discutent petit déjeuner de qualité médiocre et de quantité très inégale selon heure de fréquentation

A cute place in the centre of town!

It's a beautiful hotel located in a good location. Was quiet, clean and comfortable. Loved the courtyard with trees which provided lots of shade and there were many beautiful little birds. The breakfast was good. There is a restaurant on the rooftop which serves good food too. And their sangria is delicious!

The only issue was the bathroom, it was quite leaky as the water was seeping out of the wall. But hopefully, this issue will be fixed for the next guest!

Las zonas comunes están muy bonitas. El desayuno es buffet y está bien.

Está un poco escondido y a los taxistas les cuesta encontrarlo. Cuando llegamos no tenían habitación de la categoría que habíamos reservado y nos metieron en otra con humedades y hormigas en el techo. Nos cambiaron a otra habitación que no estaba mucho mejor. Las habitaciones dejan un poco que desear para el precio y la categoría del hotel. Al día siguiente nos cambiaron a otra habitación más (la tercera) que tenía un agujero en la pared del baño y estaba en condiciones regulares también.

An upper end backpacker guest house, but still mostly for backpackers.

The location is excellent for sightseeing in the centre of the city, and for conducting business meetings. The inner courtyard is pleasantly cool, and the staff are as helpful as they can be.

One has to pay in cash. Due to the location, there is a gas station not too far away that is refilled during the early hours of the morning. This leads to an odor of petrol all around when one wakes up early. Breakfast choice is limited (no fruits, no cereals). Rooms are very poorly lit. The air conditioner in my room was not powerful enough for the size of the room.

The Casa Mara guesthouse is an oasis of peace and hospitality in an otherwise chaotic city.

The room was nice and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed the pool and rooftop cafe for rest and respite.

It's not their fault but there is practically nowhere in Dakar where you can use a debit or credit card except at banks/ATMs. I made the reservation using MasterCard but had to pay cash at checkout... something I didn't realize until the last minute. Dakar, like most any city anywhere in the world is not someplace you want to wander around alone after dark, especially after having withdrawn money from an ATM. Fortunately one of the young men on staff accompanied me to retrieve the necessary cash providing me with comfort and protection.

it was safe, comfortable, and quiet ...which i like...!

staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok.....

I thought they could have done better with bed sheets, especially the bottom one, by ensuring they cover top to bottom properly. Mine were sometimes going three-quarter way reducing my comfort when i went to sleep.

Superb

Peaceful location, nice rooms, friendly staff, nice restaurant on location. The rooms opening to the terrace gave the place a very cozy and nice atmosphere. No complaints, definitely a location I'll return to in my next visits.

At the moment of my trip the hotel only accepted cash payments, because the card machine was broken. Hoping to be able to pay by card by next visit, since large cash withdrawals come with additional charges and complications.

Clean. Decent bar/restaurant. Room was big and shower was hot. Good internet.

Staff seemed lazy to do anything, especially their local knowledge and recommendations were useless. Restaurant is okay, but overpriced, and check what you get, as i ordered a meal of the day with meat and got no meat, only potatoes, nothing else inside the soup. There are better eating options outside, as well as better priced drinks. For the money, i expected more.

it served its purpose, somewhere to stay until my sister arrived and we moved into our apartment.

the courtyard, the plants around the facility and the tiled pool area.

the rooms were very sparsely decorated, nothing on the walls. very drab. No amenities, old soiled blankets and the place had roaches. I felt like I was away at camp. The WiFi was weak and the television didn’t work. Also there was NO privacy for using the toilet!

An oasis

whilst the property is a little tired they are continually undertaking maintenance and upgrading rooms which is good to see. The location was perfect for my requirements it was close to family I was visiting. The breakfast was excellent and the courtyard seating area made it a lovely start to the day. The small swimming pool was a bonus but there was not much direct sunshine to sit in due to the trees but I’m sure these give excellent shade during the hotter months. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful as were the cleaning staff. The roof top bar and restaurant was excellent and Edward who served up there was exceptional.

As in many African countries there were unfortunately some insects around but the hotel did provide sprays to minimise their appearance.
