Memorable 6 days in this beautiful, relaxing and historic location

We loved the mountain top location, with wonderful views, and perfect peace! Our apartment was huge, very historic and characterful. We were looked after the staff SO well, thanks to Tiago, Lucia, Carlos, and Catarina! They delivered us a sumptuous breakfast each day, and also invited us to visit their other hotel, Malaposta in Cerveira. On site, is also the sculpture museum, displaying the very interesting works of Jose Rodriguez , which we enjoyed. The countryside and surrounding gardens and grounds are most relaxing, especially the lovely pool area! There are lots of interesting towns and villages to visit within a short drive. The Saturday market at Cerveira is huge, and well worth a visit. It was a privilege and joy to stay in such a special place! Thanks to all the team who looked after us! Highly recommend, and hope to return!

Stunning place with an amazing view. Friendly staff. Luis is 5 stars and he will do his best to accommodate you. We'll definitely come back .

Very nice but not for all

View from the breakfast room.

Perfect place if you want peace and do not plan to do many trips around. It is quite a drive every time you want to get back to civilization.

A beautiful escape to recharge

It is a fantastic escape and we just had the best time with our two dogs. The views are stunning, the place is special, we had a great room and the breakfast was in a beautiful room- not to mention that we had a generous breakfast with home made apple pie. Louis - the host - has been just super welcoming and helpful. He speaks four languages! The property owns as well a little dorrest, which is great to walk the dogs.

Convento with gorgeous view

Big cleam room, hot nice shower, breakfast with fresh products, the convento has a special atmosphere. The view is great!

For us the matras with springs was not really comfortable. Beside this everything was more then great!

Luis, the manager is a hard working, professional person who seems to keep the place running. The rooms are clean and spacious and the view from anywhere on the property is beautiful.

It is sad to see the building, gardens and museum that are falling apart, the whole property seems to be uncared for by the owners, despite Luis doing his best to keep all the guests happy. It seemed this place was stuck somewhere between a self catering accommodation and a hotel, and has no real sense of identity.

Fabulous

Excellent location above the clouds! Lovely monastery that displays the sculptures of Jose Rodrigues, renoun sculptor, throughout the grounds. Wonderful views, day and night, of Vila Nova de Cerveira, Minho River and Spain. Very peaceful and rural but with modern amenities. Excellent restaurant " Casa das Velhas" is close by and a wonderful way to close out the day. The Convento serves a great breakfast with freshly baked goods by in-house chef. Served in a lovely room surrounded by windows overlooking the grounds and the valley. Wonderful way to start the day. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. There are several well equipped kitchenettes throughout should you need wine glasses, dishes etc. Couldn't ask for more.
