The views were amazing, hot tub was excellent (a bobcat strolled by the fence while we were enjoying the hot tub). Nice comfortable leather recliner sofas in living room and big kitchen to prepare meals. We enjoyed hiking at nearby Silly Mountain, drove to GoldField Ghost town and the Canyon Lake area. It was a great trip and we were fortunate to get the best weather.

This place is super comfortable with recliners in the living area and so many outdoor seating options. The mature desert landscape is full of birds and bunnies and so gorgeous. Kitchen is fully equipped, and the garage is available for parking and easy entry. Location was very close to the Peralta trailhead in a quiet neighborhood. Gold Canyon has several restaurants and a nice grocery; good shopping is available in nearby suburbs. Highly recommended.

This property/house was perfect for our first winter getaway in Arizona. We fell in love with the area and the mountain view from the front of the house is unbelievable. Denice was responsive to all our needs, which weren’t many. We loved all the hiking close by and the peace and quiet in this gorgeous neighborhood. Can’t wait to come back!

Everything from the swanky neighborhood to the decor to the privacy was perfect for our get away. I'm a 37 year veteran of the travel industry, and this has been 1 of my top 5 places I've stayed.

We LOVE this property! My family came to AZ for the Renaissance Faire, and it's so close to the grounds, without being too close.... The layout of the home is so great that my husband and I were on one side of the house, and my kids were on the other! It seemed like the tv in their room wasn't working though (at least we couldn't figure it out) but we weren't there to watch tv anyway. The kitchen is incredible!! It was well stocked with every kitchen gadget, plates, cups, utensils, and the coffee bar was divine!! The backyard is so stunning, I loved getting up in the morning with my coffee and just walking around the grounds, or sitting on the patio. The hot tub was wonderful! Absolutely needed after walking around the Faire all day long. Even with the instructions though we had a hard time getting it to stay warm after the first 2 days, and it would be helpful if some of the string lighting came across to that section so we could see the settings better, and maybe a hook or table to place towels on. Just small suggestions, not complaints at all since it really is wonderful. Denice is great, and very quick to respond when we had questions. We are making this an annual trip and would love to stay here again!

Loved the Gold House!
We loved the big, well-stocked kitchen. We brought lots of food to cook together. The house is very comfortable. Beds are cozy, laundry in the garage works great, and the hot tub was a special treat - although it seemed due for a cleaning.

Great Location !!!
Denice's home is very spacious both inside and out. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch enjoying the mountain views. The backyard was very nice to sit as well and enjoy some meals on the patio table. She has everything you need to feel right at home. We really appreciated her allowing us to check in a little early, very helpful to get our daughters wedding weekend under way.

Fantastic Stay

Lovely Home
This is a lovely and comfortable home in a great location for hiking in the Superstitions, which is what we were doing. Well-outfitted inside, and the outdoor spaces, front and back, are outstanding.

Beautiful views
We loved the beautiful mountain views from the front windows and the acres of cactus in the back of the property. The bed in the master suite was very comfy. It was easy to get to grocery stores, etc. We gave four stars because of minor household things which we shared with the owner. We would stay here again in the future.

Great location
We love the Gold Canyon area of Phoenix. This house is Arizona style and typical of the desert. It is located in a residential community on large sites. However, there is an RV located on this site which is also rented. We did not use the hot tub because it was located between the house and the RV, limiting privacy. When we arrived the house was clean but had almost no toilet paper or paper towels. We were told some would be delivered but was not. Fortunately it is not far from the grocery store! The bath towels were old and frayed, tv in the master bedroom does not work and tv in the living rooms is difficult to work. But we were busy with golf and hiking so did not need tv. The BBQ was broken but my husband fixed it so were able grill the steaks. We also have vacations homes so know how hard it is to keep up with everything.

Could be great but has issues
A nice home in a great location but is not as described. The "private" description does not acknowledge that there is also an RV trailer for rent on the lot and that the hot tub is shared with those occupants.
The tv in the main room receives only local channels via a small antenna attached to the interior wall. The tv in the guest bedroom is inoperable and ancient. The owner sent the maintenance man to look at it and he informed the owner it was so old he could not make it work. The owner told him she would replace it. When we left eight days later no action had been done.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but could have been much better.

Private & Perfect !!!!!
The house was perfect for us and well equipped. We loved the locatin with easy to freeways with great view of Superstition Mountian. There are services with in miles including a grocery store,wallgreens,liquorstore and more. The owner was good to work with we liked it so much we extended our stay.

Great stay
We had a very comfortable stay. Beautiful home, views & neighborhood. Very close to sightseeing venues, hiking trails and stores.
Some improvements, ensure that propane tanks for heaters are full, grill is clean for next guest, two sets of keys.. very minor in our opinion. The owner available if needed and easy to deal with.
We would definitely love to rent this beautiful home again.

Gorgeous Property and Felt Like Home
You could definitely tell that this house was a "home" at one point, while still being incredibly clean and gorgeously furnished. The hot tub and patio were greatly enjoyed and the location was easy to get to. We would definitely stay there again. The only minor complaint was that the hair dryer was very weak and did not dry our hair (without at least 30-40 minutes of effort). So if you stay here, remember to bring a hair dryer!

Lovely home, good value, stunning views.
We were visiting family in the area for Thanksgiving and this house met our needs perfectly. We especially enjoyed the private arrangement of the bedrooms, with a master side of the house and then a queen and kids two full bedroom on the opposite side. The washer and dryer also came in handy and exceeded our expectations. The house was ready for us and perfect when we arrived. The kitchen is large and luxurious, and perfect for group cooking, entertaining. I would definitely stay here again if we return for another visit. I would recommend to friends as well. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant!

Fabulous house - few missed details
This house is beautiful and very well decorated. It is great for having a large group to barbecue and hang outside with all the outdoor furniture. There were only a few items that were forgotten before checkin - this could probably be attributed to a quick cleaning turn around as another party checked out the morning of our arrival. Although, I would certainly stay here again.

Where did the time go?!
Sitting on the back deck facing the desert enjoying our last evening at Sleepy Hollow Haven. We rolled in on December 15th and immediately made it our home. Easy to do...everything is here that you would want for an extended stay such as ours has been. It's obvious that Denice and Nigel love this place. And we did, too. The privacy and the view...awesome!

An incredible stay!
What started out as a small family reunion turned into an amazing impromptu wedding.
We had invited a total of 34 guests. The home not only accommodated all of us, our luggage and many parcels, but the property and additional outdoor seating lent themselves to the holiday atmosphere and the wedding, as well.
We were married under the trees at the corner of the patio, next to the short gate. The location was just perfect and though we had rain earlier in the day, the sunlight streamed down on us and our guests at just the right moment. The large back porch created the perfect setting for large group pictures as we all sat or stood around the porch wall. The interior of the home is beautifully designed and appointed. The furniture was easily reset to open the already huge floor, which provided for open access and dancing.
While there, we discovered that the home did not include an iron, however a quick text to Denice and Nigel solved the problem. Not only were we given the OK to purchase an iron, as promised, we also received a reimbursement check within just a few days of our departure.
Every single guest commented on the house, its location, or the mountain and desert views. We've rented a lot of homes, both domestically and internationally, on VRBO, and all agree that Sleepy Hollow Haven was by far, the best.
Thank you Denice and Nigel for helping us to create wonderful memories of this Christmas and our unexpected wedding.
