About this castle / palace rental

CIN: IT054013B902014396
Are you looking to rent you own private and exceptional castle? Here it is! Castello del Falco is an authentic and impressive castle dating back to medieval times. The sturdy 11th century tower is definitely its most striking feature and can be seen from the far off distance. It is situated at a hilltop and surrounded by the smaller buildings of its own quaint little hamlet. The stones with which it all has been built have been laid many centuries ago and are silent witnesses to times long gone by. The atmosphere is truly unique and somewhat magical, with arches, passageways, a little old church, staircases left and right and with beautiful roses ubiquitous throughout the gardens.

During a full scale renovation the complex has been transformed into an utterly charming and welcoming accommodation. It has been divided into six independent units, each with a private entrance, living with fireplace, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms, with a maximum occupancy of 22 people. In the main building there are various communal areas: a spacious fully equipped kitchen with adjacent a lovely dining area and sitting room with a both grand and great fireplace. Just out the door there is a covered porch with a large dining table, looking out over the heated pool which itself enjoys a view of the surrounding countryside. The BBQ and wood oven are conveniently located around the corner. The former church can still be used for weddings or other ceremonies, and the vibes that still linger in the air from gatherings that have been taking place there for hundreds of year are sure to have you experience some goose bumps.

The interiors are a remarkable mixtures of lovely antique furniture and modern fittings. From the ancient tower to the romantic bedroom with en-suite jacuzzi in the Priest's house, each unit is unique and original. Beautiful beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors blend in seamlessly with the natural materials and the soft colors used.

This very exclusive property is located in the northern part of Umbria, in the triangle between Arezzo, Umbertide and Lago trasimeno. Close to both Tuscany and le Marche it is easy to explore the treasures of all three provinces during easy day trips.. Perugia, Assisi, Cortona, Siena, Florence but also endless lists of small picturesque villages and vineyards are nearby and waiting to be explored.

At Castello del Falco the entire property is always exclusively yours, units that will not be occupied by your party will remain empty. Visitors have expressed nothing but enthusiasm for this very special place!

We had an unforgettable family reunion at the Castello del Falco, just amazing. We were celebrating my Dad's 50' anniversary, and Mario and Renato organized for us a gorgeous dinner party. All the food was prepared in front of us, and we could learn a lot about Italian cooking. We also enjoyed the wine selection, and the olive oil produced on the grounds of the Castle. The staff is just super friendly, efficient and discreet: They looked after all the details, and we couldn't ask for more. Thank you Mario, thank you Renato.

This property was recommended to us by Mario and we decided to take our close family there and have our wedding. We had high expectations for the property as well as the location in the Italian countryside based on the property listing and the description given to us by Mario. Just before we left for our trip, we were a little worried that it would not quite live up to the pictures that we had formed in our mind. Once we arrived (after winding our way up a little country road through the forest, right to the top of the hill), we were totally blown away by what we saw! The place is straight out of a fairy-tale... it is a tiny self-contained village, with its own chapel, central dining and socialising area, swimming pool, several apartment units and its own 1000 year-old castle tower. The views are completely out of this world (especially from the top of the tower), forest everywhere, with the local farmlands and villages below, several castle towns on neighbouring hills and even snow covered mountains in the distance. Renato, the host at the hamlet, has spent the last 20-years pouring his heart and soul into restoring the place and it shows in his dedication and commitment to the place. He absolutely loves the place and he wants every guest to love it as well! Everything is immaculate and in its place, without ever seeming artificial. One really does think that you are living in your own little hill-top kingdom. Renato provided our wedding day feast and it really was a feast! The food was authentic Umbrian style and made and served with absolute passion from Renato and his team - a must do to accompany any stay! The local village in the valley has a mini supermarket style shop where one can get basic supplies and the local pizzeria has really great food and drink, so there really is no need to ever leave the kingdom... if however, one decides that a bit of exploring is called for, then the location in the heart of the Italian countryside, right on the border of Umbria and Tuscany, is really spectacular. There is easy access to the highways via several small towns, or else take one of several winding roads and see the villages, castles, lakes, mountains, forests and everything else that this paradise has to offer! There is absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property for an amazing holiday experience. The pictures and words will make you think there is no better place on earth... but actually experiencing it will make you certain!
