The stay was awesome. Accommodation was great, and the host was a total delight.

Travis, the host was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. He made some great recommendations as to the to places see and eat. We will definitely return to this property whenever time permits. The bed was very comfortable. I could hibernate in this cabin through the entire winter with no problem. Next time I will try some gold panning. Thank you Travis for showing your piece of heaven in Talkeetna. John and Michelle from Moses Lake.

Delightful stay, exceeded expectations

Travis’ incredible hospitality and his striking, cozy, hand-built cedar cabins made our stay in Talkeetna exceptional. From picking us and our bags up at the train station, letting us run a load of laundry, giving us countless local recommendations for restaurants and activities, starting a fire for us to roast s’mores, and advising us on an impromptu midnight northern lights viewing - Travis was the perfect host. Hospitality wasn’t the only thing that shined, though, the cabins were cozily curated with Netflix and board games, guides and books, a stocked kitchenette, and, most importantly during the winter, excellent heating and hot water pressure. Clearly, there was attention in every detail from the slate bathroom accents to the Alaska wildlife decor and hand-done cedar-paneled cabins. I can’t believe we lucked out landing a night with Travis - he’s usually booked, and for good reason. We wish we could’ve stayed longer and can’t wait to return soon!

Our Number One Place to Stay

This was our favorite stay (over some pretty swanky lodges). It was easy to find, located so we could walk everywhere in town. First impression is misleading (more oh-no than wow), but our room was very modern and perfect. Our host met us, told us he would have our room ready when we got back from lunch and the keys would be on the table ... and yes we could just leave our car parked there. Best of all, we were in the woods, in a quiet place, with guests gathering in the evening for quiet visiting. Warm, welcoming in a town not to be missed.

First impression taught me never to judge a book by it's cover. It turned out to be the most relaxed and convenient location we stay at while in Alaska. It had a real backwoods flavor while being extremely generous.

NOTHING, external looked lie a scene from Deliverance.

Camper parked in front of building. Dilapidated BBQ PITS IN courtyard. Mismatched lawn furniture and umbrellas , children’s toys and playthings in courtyard.Raw unfinished plywood on exterior of building walls. No sidewalks to manage luggage to accommodations. Owner’s appearance unprofessional. Interior dated furniture . Needless to say we did stay, the question I have is how this property became rated “9.5” on booking. Com. I hope to receive your explanation and a refund of my payment. We had to scramble to find accommodations which was. Twice the price. ( on booking. Com)

Perfect in the middle of town

The owner welcomes you and shows you the villa. Beautiful little space with a comfy bed, warm shower and small kitchen. You will have a porch to sit on as well.

Very nice place, comfortable and at walking distance from the main attractions/restaurants.

The room was big and comfortable. The hotel also have an outdoor patio where you can barbecue if you want and also a fire pit. The owner was very kind and pick me up and dropped me off at the train station.

Father and son, Greg and Travis, are great hosts. Long time residents. They know everyone.

We were picked up at the train station by the owner, taken on a tour of the village, and brought to the property.

Great sultry near Talkeetna village

I liked everything about this property. There were mosquitoes outside that wanted to get in, but that’s not the host’s fault.

Other than mosquitoes, there was a tiny bit of miscommunication between the onsite and offsite hosts.

Location was great and the place was very clean and well made up. Travis was a good host and also provided a pickup from the train station with a tour of the town.

Nothing comes to mind. There were no shortcomings with the property.

Perfect night in Talkeetna. Steps from the downtown area, where we had a total blast!

Host met us when we arrived. Very friendly and super helpful! The apartment was immaculately clean and perfect for the area. Embrace Talkeetna when you get there...probably the best part of our 8 days in Alaska!

Home away from home

Travis was an exceptional host. The communal fire pit was wonderful where people could come together at the end of the day and talk about their adventures. We had a great 3 nights and it felt like a home away from home. Wonderful spacious room, superfast WiFi, and Netflix available. Great central location handy to the aircraft operators and close to town.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to staying there again.

Location was within walking distance of the town, that was awesome. Each night our host, Travis had a fire going and we all visited around it. He was also very helpful in setting up a dog sled excursion.

Great place to stay in Talkeetna!

The owners we're great to work with! The room was amazing. The bed was so comfortable my husband actually slept and hardly snored! Pillows were super cozy with plenty of blankets. Rooms are well insulated. I normally need extra blankets wihich were available, but not needed. Kitchen cam with mini fridge, microwave and pretty much everything you would need. Plenty of tables and areas to put your stuff. Kinda wished we were in the room longer. I work at a Losge and have managed several bars, lodges and a resort. This was a wonderful stay in a beautiful cabin. The staff was very accommodating. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in town

There was NOTHING that we didnt like. If I had to say anything it would only be to make a few suggestions. Could have been a little more driveway space. Fine for the day we were there but if there had been other guests or if we brought the truck, it would have been a little tight.Im sure in the summer without snow there is plenty of parking. There was only a small frying pan , nothing else like a pot. Again im sure all I would have had to do was to ask and it would have been supplied. There could have been a coat hook by door in the winter we have alot of cold weather gear.. Again we just used the hangers and hung them up. Again we had NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL!! These are just some suggestions/observations not necessary to have a comfortable stay!
