Loved the cottage, so quaint, clean, warm, cosy, it was beautiful. The stairs are a bit scary, but if you take your time and duck you are fine, part and parcel of the cottage. Only downside the 'village' not really there. A car ride to get anywhere, but it didn't spoil it at all. Was so sad to leave the cottage. Beautiful, just loved it. Thank you .

This is a beautiful & homely Victorian cottage. It's very comfortable and has a superb garden. We were suprised to find milk, juice & 6 cupcakes on arrival 😋. This was very welcome. Pennington is well placed near to Lymington but it takes 25 to 30mins walkto reach the quay

Well placed for exploring Lymington. Lovely cottage.
Would have been nice to have recommendations from owners about local take aways, places in town worth visiting etc

The cottage was in a great location easy to walk into Lymington, great base for coastal days out and trips into the new forest. Beautiful cottage garden, house immaculate with good facilities.

We very much enjoyed our 3-night stay at the cottage. It was spotlessly clean inside with a well-equipped kitchen - handy as we like to cook in the evenings. Lovely garden too. Good location for visiting rivers, coast and New Forest.

The accommodation was A* and the best we have experienced. The location was ideal and our communication with the property owner was first class. We would recommend the cottage and hope to return one day.

Wonderful little cottage, very clean and comfortable. It has everything you would need for a break away. Superb to have a huge park opposite in which to walk the dogs. Mick the property manager even left us a cake for our arrival which was very much appreciated. Would recommend

Such a cosy little cottage, had everything we need and was a perfect location for the conference I was attending. The area is stunning with lots of local dog walks as we took our Cockapoo with us.
The beds were super comfy with beautiful, fresh smelling linen, as listed the stairs, are a little steep, but it adds to the quirkyNess To an old building. We would definitely book a short stay again. The host was very welcoming and had excellent communication.

James and I spent a wonderful Christmas time at the Sun Cottage. It has everything you can dream of: warm and elegant environment, nice garden, and quiet neighborhood. It is finely refurbished and equipped with the best appliances. The Cottage is in a fantastic location, by the New Forest and only a short stroll from the centre of the lovely Lymington.
I highly recommend this accommodation.

Just back from a lovely 3 night break with my husband and my dog. Property was lovely and clean, neat, tidy and had everything that we needed. Mick was great, as I only made the booking the day before, he was really helpful. The location was great for both the Forest and coast line. Would definitely go back. The only slight issue we had, was finding the property when we got there, as the adjoining property’s house number is visible, although the house name is on gate, it’s not very clear and could probably do with being replaced. Slightly disappointed on arrival, but more than happy once inside :-)

Were looking for a quiet weekend with walks and within reach of a swimming beach. Cottage was well equipped and cosy, - we even spent a happy, rainy day reading. Booking was easy too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and plan to revisit next year! Communication with the owner was really helpful. All instructions very clear, found the cottage very easily. Upon enetering we were more than happy, the photos don't do it justice at all. Very clean and comfortable, the beds and pillows were extremly comfortable!! All in all we loved it and will definitely recommend the cottage to others, and will be returning!

This was the second time we have stayed at this cottage and yet again it doesn’t disappoint.
It’s lovely and clean its certainly home from home. It’s ideally situated close to the New Forest, pubs and shops are on the doorstep. We found a pub called the cheques inn it’s about a 6 minute drive, dog friendly food and service is good.
If we go to the New Forest again this cottage would be my first choice

We have stayed at Sun Cottage twice now and it meets all our requirements. Spotlessly clean and located in a very pleasant area opposite the common. Lovely garden for sitting out in when the sum shines. Stairs steep but, although we are no longer young, we can manage them. Thank you, we had a very pleasant stay. Dee

We were lucky to find this cottage still available over the Easter bank holiday weekend so booked a 3 night stay for 3 adults. The description is accurate and Michael checked that I had received all the check in information via Vrbo.
We were very lucky with the weather and went into the forest for lunch and to Milford on Sea to the beach. We walked down Priestlands Road, then lane onto the Bunny Run to get to the town centre. We didn't get to visit the Saturday market but drove through as it was ending and it still looked busy and varied.
The garden was secure for the dogs and there was a little gate outside the front area which is shared with the neighbour. Lots of dog poo bins on the common opposite and around town.
I would return but aim for a less busy weekend as pubs were fully booked and tourists attractions were very busy but this is a sign of how popular the area is.

We stayed at this lovely cottage for the autumn half term with our five year old. The cottage is nicely furnished and ideal for a small family the stairs took a little getting used to but even the little one got the hang of it. There is a nice playground across the road she liked a lot. Shops are close if needed and a trip to Mileford is recommended (thank you for the tip Michael) there is lots to do and see around there and we had a great week. Thank you for having us.

The cottage is compact but cosy and well furnished with a private garden, and it suited our needs (2 siblings on a short break). The stairs are narrow so care is needed on the way down! It's a really quiet area. We had a lovely stay, and would return.

The property was lovely and met or exceeded all expectations. Great location, charming little cottage with comfortable beds, thoughtful amenities and great water pressure, lovely enclosed garden and across from a large grassy common, (perfect for dogs), very short walk to convenience stores and nice walk into lovely port town. Short drive to Milford on Sea beach and walk to Burch Castle - all very teen/family and dog friendly. Highly recommend.

Beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped little cottage on the edge of the New Forest. It was perfect for 2-3 people with a sweet garden with seats that you could sit in. It is worth being aware that, being a cottage, the bathroom is downstairs. Also you do park on the road outside - these weren’t an issue however.

We had a lovely stay in this sweet Victorian cottage. It was cool during the heatwave and very pleasant with the doors open onto the pretty garden. It was well furnished and felt like a home from home, very tastefully selected items that added to the character of the place. Shops just down the road, parking outside on the road, although we parked in a nearby lay by. Whether it is a covid restriction now, but I would have liked some basic items such as coffee, sugar, milk, but tea was provided. I think this is a sign of the times. It didn't effect our stay as the shops are within walking distance. Very lovely countryside and beaches near by, Lymington up the road, Christchurch half an hour drive away and the wonderful Hengistbury head beach. Great stay and a quiet little retreat. Thank you.

We had a great 3 night stay at this lovely cottage, it was spotlessly clean and even all the basics were provided such as towels, soap etc.
Great location with a common opposite to walk the dog and a dog friendly beach about a 10 minute drive away. A Tesco express, One Stop and fish and chip shop at the end of the road.
We enjoyed the beautiful sun trap garden as we were so lucky with the weather during our stay. It was also nice and secure for our dog.
Communication was great-location easy to find from the detailed instructions, also guides on how to work the tv and a list of useful telephone numbers was helpful.
Everything was well thought out so we had a great time!

Excellent communication with Mick prior to holiday. Very little contact needed during trip as the place was exactly as described.
Property was very much what we needed as a base for our New Forest holiday.
Great location with so many activities within 20mins or so, particularly for our 7 year old, e.g. Hired bikes for a day, Lymington Sea Water Inflatables, Forest Arts Centre, Various beaches, Beaulieu, Calshot Activity Centre, Snowtrax Ski Centre.

Gorgeous cottage situated in the New Forest, opposite the Common which our dog loved running around. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and very well equipped although there are some lovely local pubs which do excellent food. The garden is lovely certainly a sun trap but has shade too. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay.

Lovely little cottage next to common. Very close to a lot of amenities. Pretty garden. We had a great time travelling round the forest

Really enjoyed our stay.
It was a lovely touch to have milk in the fridge, for a cup of tea on arrival.
Everything was as expected, and lovely and clean.
The garden was delightful, a perfect place to sit & relax.
The cottage was in a excellent location, perfect for walks, and a short walk into Lymington.

The property was very convenient and well equipped. With the common just across the road it was ideal for our dog. A good location for visiting the coast and the New Forest which we would have enjoyed more if the weather had been better.

We spent a fantastic week in this cottage. There were two adults and our dog. The cottage was perfectly situated for us as there was a large common directly opposite where we could walk the dog and the back garden was fully enclosed so we could relax outside. There are a couple of small supermarket type convenience stores just a couple of minutes walk away. The walk into town and quay was a pleasant stroll (about 25mins) where there are lovely shops, cafes and pubs (many dog friendly). We found the cottage itself to be very comfortable and very well equipped, everything was to a very high standard. We would most definitely stay there again if we are holidaying in that area.

The cottage is well situated in Pennington - easily accessible to the lovely town of Lymington and the coast at Milford on Sea, and in lovely countryside.
Communication with the owner was timely and informative and the cupcakes on arrival were a nice touch.
The pretty little garden is one of the best features at the cottage with an early morning sun patio , ideal for breakfast, and a seating area to catch the sunset with a glass of wine. Well equipped and comfortable, although the staircase is steep and narrow.
It was the perfect place for the two of us for the glorious Easter weekend.
