Our 3rd time staying here, always a wonderful experience. Renovated kitchen is very nice and upstairs seating area on the mezzanine is a plus. Pool can be heated, useful this time of year when the water is a little chilly. Walking distance to the nature walk at edge of mangrove lagoon, great for birdwatching. Nearby boat tour of the lagoon also fun.

This house is in a great location and we had a really good time. It's obvious that once upon a time this was a very nice house. While the outside of the property is very well maintained, the inside seems to be neglected. When we arrived there was trash items throughout the house (soda bottles, partially eaten ice cream etc). There were 2 broken ACs and broken out cabinet and door panels, drains that didn't work and a few other things that should be taken care of before renting to guests. To be fair, Abdou was very quick to address anything we asked him to take care of and overall we had a good experience. I would only suggest that the inside of the house get the same attention as the exterior. A little updating, repairs and small investments in linen, towels and other comfort items would go a long way to making this an even better destination. My family and I would definitely return to this property so please don't be scared away by anything I'm writing, the property is still a great place to stay.

You wake up to the waves lapping on the beach, have a beautiful pool and an even better view. It is the best place we have stayed at yet in the Saly and Simone area. One aircon needed to be fixed and it was taken care of promptly....very appreciated.

This is a marvelous house in the best location of La Somone, literally on the beach, and with wonderful views. I went with my teenagers, and we have repeated several times... and I definitely recommend it to everybody!! However, the house needs a little effort to be refurbished inside, in terms of mattresses, sheets, towels, dishes, glasses, etc. It is all a bit old and not in very good shape. It would also be great if a "welcome minimum kit" is available in the house at arrival (it was not), such as toilette paper, soap, salt and pepper, and feel welcomed without starting from scratch. Thanks for the welcoming! Thierry, from far away, and Abdou, directly taking care of the house, are both fantastic!!

La maison est superbement située les pieds dans l’eau près de la lagune de la somone et idéale pour marcher au bord de l’eau et pêcher . Le jardin est superbe et bien entretenu , l’accueil (par Abdou , le gardien ) souriant et accueillant .l’interieur de la maison est correct et il y a tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un week-end entre copains .juste des remontées (mauvaises odeurs ) près de la terrasse et de la chambre face à la terrasse mais il me semble

Amazing Location and Luxuries

The location is ideal, being right on the beach but within easy walking distance (either through the village or on the beach) to many restaurants and bars. The beach is clean and safe with a jet ski rental right out the door to the beach. You can walk south along the beach for miles; north, you come to the Royal Baobab resort and the national park and the river, which is passable, but you have to swim. The re are also several rental /tour services in the park for quads, boat rides, bird watching, etc. In regards to the house, be prepared for firm mattresses, but other than that, things are great. The kitchen is ample in terms of size and what is provided for flatwear and glasswear (though there are no wine glasses). There is indoor and outdoor seating for meals. We took advantage of the recommended chef who made dinner for us each night. We asked for local seafood, and it did not disappoint. There is a TV area and wifi, but we didn't make any use of those as we were outside the whole time. Out the back doors of the house is a nice, shaded porch looking down the property over the pool, the subsequent garden and a beach-side gazebo. You have direct line of sight with the ocean, which is wonderful. The garden area attracts lots of butterflies and birds. It is dog friendly as well. We will definitely be back. Well worth the visit!

A great place to relax

This was our second time to stay at this lovely villa by the sea. We loved it so much the first time that we had to come back. What were the best features? We enjoyed the pool which Abdou kept very clean. The well-kept flower garden attracted lots of birds and butterflies. Direct access to the beach was a big plus. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the open-air cabane at the lower end of the property. We took all of our meals out on the spacious veranda looking out over the ocean. Khady kept the inside of the villa sparkling clean. The beds were a bit firm, but very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. As Americans, we would have preferred a larger refrigerator, but it served our purposes very well. Our son was happy to watch lots of football matches on the big TV (Wifi and Canal+ were included). The only problem was our air conditioner didn't work the first night, but Abdou called a technician and it was fixed on the same day that we reported the problem. Over all, we had a wonderful time. If there are any spots in the reservation calendar that open up, we will certainly come for another visit soon.

Our stay was nice, the pool and view of the ocean was wonderful! You need to call the day before so the house will be clean and ready on arrival. It would be nice to have fans provided during the stay. A problem with the AC was resolved quickly. We did not know the cost per unit of electricity and cost per day of internet until we arrived for our stay. This needs to be communicated by the owner when reservation is being made. Overall this is a very nice place to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. We would stay again!!

Nous avons passé 3 jours dans la maison. Très agréable séjour, espace idéal pour les enfants. Maison très agréable, particulièrement la zone extérieure qui est vraiment belle (jardin, piscine, vue sur la plage)... Abdou le gardien est toujours à l'écoute et disposé à aider. Nous recommandons!

Nous avons passé une semaine de pure détente. La maison est très sympa et possède un magnifique jardin tres bien entretenu! Le fait qu elle donne directement sur la plage lui donne un avantage certain . Le gardien Abdu est tres gentil et très serviable. Nous vous conseillons également Gilles et sa femme comme cuisiniers qui nous ont fait découvrir les.plats locaux toujours dans la bonne humeur. Il est très appréciable sur chaque chambre ait sa salle de bain ou presque . La terrasse est très agréable avec une vue imprenable. Absolument pas déçue, encore mieux que sur les photos.

Our time in Somone was fantastic. The location right on the beach was ideal. The pool and garden were just lovely. The house was well appointed, with comfortable bedrooms, a good sitting room, and a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. But of course we preferred to take our meals out on the veranda where we could enjoy the outdoor beauty. Abdou made sure we had everything we needed including charcoal for the grill and bread for breakfast. He also helped my son find the football matches on TV. If the calendar weren't completely full of existing bookings, we would definitely return for another stay very soon.

Nous avons étè enchantés de notre sejour dans cette maison veritablement "les pieds dans l'eau". Tout était au rendez vous dans cette villa, le merveilleux jardin, la piscine et surtout l'exceptionnelle vue sur la mer. Sans compter le devouement d'Abdou qui garde et entretien les exterieurs de la maison, les excellents repas conconctés par Gilles à l'écoute de nos envies avec sympathie et la gentillesse de Raddy pour la tenue de la maison. Bref ce fut un superbe sejour en famille .

Nous avons passé 10 jours à La Somone dans cette maison bien entretenue, bien située et très agréable. Les enfants ont beaucoup apprécié de passer de la piscine aux châteaux de sable et aux vagues de l'océan en quelques pas ! La cuisine préparée par Max était délicieuse. Sans hésitation c'est là que nous retournerons lors de notre prochain séjour au Sénégal.
