Fantastic location for exploring Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Sunny Acres was an ideal place for our annual brother hiking holiday specifically bedrooms, bed size, bathrooms, and a barbecue. Great hosts. Would highly recommend.

Host responded quickly and nice enough to share local beautiful scenery places.

The main house layout and amenities were great for our family and we enjoyed the large kitchen, deck, living room, and yard. Extra towels, beach towels, umbrellas, jackets, and head lamp and so many extra touches made it feel like a home away from home. Two of the 4 beds in the main house were very soft and sagged in the middle and that made for less than ideal sleeping for some. The lower unit that another family member rented for part of the time was very musty and would have been hard to hang out in if we had needed it for that. Given the musty smell, it was a very high price to pay in my opinion. The trip left on a bad note as the host messaged me just after we left about 2 things that had just broken as we were leaving and I had not yet had a chance to tell her as the grand baby was crying in the car and it wasn’t yet check out time. The message implied I had hid the broken items from her. The cutlery drawer that collapsed as we were leaving was likely not the first time it broke as the pressboard was stripped and we couldn’t fix it. It was very obviously broken and no effort was made to hide it. A small plastic window tab also popped off when I went to close the window upon checking out as we left them open the entire time. I found the host’s tone upsetting as I always disclose if something breaks and take responsibility. I would not have minded if she had just asked about them rather than assuming they broke earlier in the week and we were trying to hide it.

The house was extremely clean, large, comfortable, and private. It was easy to get to Acadia National Park, restaurants, and Bar Harbor. We had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and commumication with the owner was great!

Had a wonderful stay at this home. Spacious, clean and kitchen was big and had everything we needed and more! Beds were comfortable and the whole house was spacious. The deck was very nice and we saw several stars and the Milky Way from there. House is located in a nice quiet wooded area. Kellie was great, she checked in to be sure we had what we needed and even before we arrived was quick to respond to any questions I had. She had great suggestions to what to see|do in the area. We had 4 adults in our group and would recommend to anyone!

This home is in a great location within short distance from the main Acadia entrance and close to Bar Harbor. The house was perfect for two families to share comfortably and was quiet and beautiful.
I was not happy with the amount of constant texts and messages from the host however. When on vacation we like to take it easy and relax, not easy to do with three small children to wrangle. The host was texting me often about getting her maintenence person into the house (two days during our 1 week stay) and I felt pressured that we should leave and get out and about early and often, plus an early morning phone call and text about the garbage going out, which we had already done.
Our trip would have been more enjoyable without this disruption, otherwise it was a great place to stay.

Peaceful. Plenty of room. Close to park entrances.

Lovely home at the end of a cul-de-sac. Nice big yard where the deer and wild turkey would visit. Room to play frisbee and soccer in the yard. A relaxing hammock too. The layout of the house was great for our group. We had 6 adults and 2 children two years old and younger. Wonderful time to relax with family.

The house was perfect for our family trip to Acacia. It was a great location to Bar Harbor and Acadia, with lots of food options and things to do nearby. Great outdoor space and nice interior.

We really enjoyed this home. It was the perfect setting and size for our reunion of two families and a great base as we explored Acadia NP and Bar Harbor.

So very grateful this home and property was available for our family vacation to Maine. Great location to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The house and property are absolutely beautiful and peaceful; we even had the opportunity to see the biggest buck in the woods surrounding the house! We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets from the deck.
Kellie thought of everything a family would need while staying there; the amenities were perfect.
Would love the opportunity the next time we visit Maine to be welcomed back to Kellie's peace of heaven!

We had a great time staying here. The house is located a convenient short drive from the national park. It is in a quiet neighborhood which makes for a good basecamp for both hiking and visiting Bar Harbor. The house has plenty of sleeping space. The master suite has a large jacuzzi tub to relax after hiking. It rained during our stay but the deck seemed like a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day hiking.

This was the perfect house for our family. It was close to all the Acadia National Park destinations we had planned. A favorite spot in the house was the deck. We ate our suppers together outside. It was beautiful.

Perfect Location for a visit to Acadia
My family stayed at this property over memorial day weekend and it was our first trip to Maine ever. The house was very clean and comfortable and everything we needed. It was just outside of bar harbor and as much fun as bar harbor is, it was nice to head back to the rental house away from all of the tourists. We were 10 mins from a grocery store that had everything we would want and a short jaunt from the Acadia entrance. We would definitely recommend this home to everyone traveling to the area.

Very Accommodating
Location excellent to get to downtown Bar Harbor and anywhere else on the Island. Great room/kitchen were comfy for all. Clean. The owner quickly answered texts where we asked questions about the house, e.g. how to work the TV.

Family vacation
We had a great time in Bar Harbor. Kellie’s home was a great place to stay. The location was perfect! Set back in the woods in a private setting but still close to all of the activities that we wanted to participate in (close to all the hiking, biking and restaurants/shops).
Thank you Kellie for all of your assistance and the communication throughout the week. We loved staying at your home.

Fantastic House
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with friends and family. The location is close to town but far enough away with a spacious yard and woods for the kids to explore. The house itself is very well equipped, especially the kitchen--everything we needed was basically there already. Kellie is very responsive and was incredibly flexible with our schedule. We had to change dates, and she was so accommodating. It was a pleasure to both stay in her home and also deal with her regarding timing etc. We look forward to hopefully returning one day soon.

Wonderful stay, very comfortable and close the spectacular Acadia park. Kellie is a great host.
Our family of 7 (3 adults + 4 children) spent 6 nights at this house close to Bar Harbour in Maine. The house is very spacious and comfortable and has anything you may need for a family vacation. It is about 6 mins from the Hull Cove entrance to Acadia National Park and about 10 mins from the town of Bar Harbour. Our host Kellie was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. The property is in a very quiet area, surrounded by trees. We were there in late Aug and the whether was excellent. Great option for visiting Acadia!

Re-visiting Bar Harbor
Two years after our last trip to Bar Harbor where my son proposed to his girlfriend, we returned. Now we have a grandson to celebrate. We enjoyed the hiking both the difficult trails and the easier ones when we needed to recover, swimming, biking and eating the great food. Other vacationers and residents are so diligent about wearing their face masks and social distancing that we felt very safe. The house was great and had everything we needed. Something new we enjoyed were the sounds of nature at night along with the beautiful night skies. The jacuzzi in the master bedroom was fantastic after a long day of biking and hiking. It was a perfect vacation and we hated to leave. Kelly was always quick to answer all my questions. Thanks for a wonderful vacation

Spacious home near all attractions.
The home is spacious and close to all of the attractions, Acadia park, town with shops and restaurants, yet secluded and quiet. The deck, outdoor space and parking spaces are great. My only issue with the home was cleanliness, the bed linens had not been washed. However, the property manager is very responsive and took care of this. Make sure to have lobster at C-rays! We recommend this home to any group looking to enjoy Bar Harbor.

Enjoyed our stay in a nice forest setting
We enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor. The house suited out needs perfectly with everything we needed. Being out of town was something we enjoyed and we did a lot in house catering rather than eating out. There we 3 couples in our group.
We would recommend this property if you enjoy being out of the hustle and bustle

Great vacation home for MDI area.
Overall, this is a great property in a wonderful location. The spacious layout of this house gave all our family members plenty of room for a relaxing week. The large outside deck, family room, and extensive kitchen gave us exactly what we needed when we needed it.
This ideal location is 5 minutes from the nearest entrance to Acadia National Park; within a drive of 3 to 30 minutes you can be at most of MDI’s finest/choice restaurants; and we were about 20 minutes away from relatives staying in Ellsworth.
The only inconvenience experienced was the inconsistent supply of hot water; and this should be addressed by the owner.
MDI continues to be very high on our list of favorite family vacation locations, and we expect a future return trip to MDI.

Perfect location, clean spacious home
This is our 4th summer in Bar Harbor...we were looking for the perfect place that was centrally located to downtown but close enough to not make the drive to Schoodic and SW harbor...the location is amazing. It is quiet and private and the views from the deck are so serene, we had plenty of deer grazing and the birds chirping made us open a bird app to identify the sounds.
The house is well equipped with all amentities, the kitchen is well stocked with all supplies. We traveled with our 2 sons and they were thrilled to be able to pick their own room and have their own space. Every nook of this property is comfortable!

Rested and relaxed
The property was just what our family needed to connect and retreat after a busy day at Acadia. The house was immaculate and well appointed. The beds were extremely comfortable and the additional island seating in the kitchen provided ample room for our family dinners. It was truly a delightful stay.

Our family of eight had a wonderful time vacationing in Maine while staying at Stoney Brook Acres.
The house provided more than ample space for our family. Its large kitchen had all of the necessary items/equipment needed for preparing our meals especially lobster dinner. The four bedrooms were comfortable with the large master suite providing a pleasant cross breeze. The house overlooked a small meadow flanked by beautiful “Christmas” trees and many blooming wildflowers. Its close proximity to Acadia National Park made for easy access with very little traffic. We hiked, saw seals, ate at several lobster pounds, and so enjoyed viewing the breathtaking beauty of Maine’s rocky coast.
