Incredible hotel with lovely staff

Excellent hotel. We stayed for 5 days for our honeymoon and were properly pampered. Amazing freshly cooked breakfasts on a balcony overlooking the beach, cocktails in the swim up bar (all made with fresh fruit and homemade syrups), and incredibly comfortable beds - the pillows are better than ours at home! The beach is far cleaner than some of the other hotels on the ideal, with very little seaweed. It's also in a great location, halfway between the town and the walk to Punta Mosquito, so it's really quiet. All the staff are fantastic, so kind and friendly and all speak wonderful English. The walk to town is about 15 minutes down the beach, or a taxi is about 5 minutes (150 pesos). We had a really excellent time.

There wasn't really anything we didn't like!

chambre spacieuse et calme. lit tres confortable. un personnel adorable au petit soin. bouteille d’eau et petite pâtisserie tous les soirs en rentrant dans la chambre. emplacement au top loin du brouhaha du centre mais facile a pied. le restaurant est exceptionnel avec des plats (petit dej et diner) tres recherché et qualitatif. personnel parfait. c’est cher certes mais de toute façon tout est hors de prix sur l’ile donc je trouve sue l’hotel et le resto dans l’ensemble reste un tres tres bon rapport qualité prix. je reviendrai car malheureusement nous avons eu un mauvais temps et une mer agitée !

Een aanrader voor een verblijf in Holbox

Het hotel is prachtig gelegen in een rustiger gedeelte aan het strand. De inrichting van het hotel is heel mooi. De ontvangst was heel aangenaam en ook in het restaurant van het hotel was het personeel heel vriendelijk. Het ontbijt à la carte was heerlijk en ook 's avonds hebben we er lekker gedineerd.

Werkelijk niks op aan te merken.

Very enjoyable beach side hotel with ample potential to be amazing

The hotel was very Clean, small gestures such as welcome drinks on arrival and treats left in the room at night time, straw hat and beach bag left for your use. Beach location was beautiful and the bed was comfortable.

The pool was over chlorinated. Only 5 minutes inside turned our swimwear green! It was a pleasant experience to be in the pool and at the pool bar. The staff started cleaning very early and was very noisy. One morning we forgot to put our do not disturb sign on the door and our bedroom door was opened at 8:40 while we were still sleeping. There was lots of noise outside and inside the building so made sleeping a little hard.

Breakfast was great, just the smell of sargasso had a huge influence

Laundry room including personal behind room caused noises 5:30 in the morning. Pool needs maintenance. Toilet water tank was fixed 3 times , but was still not keeping the water - permanently waterflow ( noises).

Truly an experience in paradise with exceptional customer service.

The staff was tremendous. Very friendly and attentive. The rooms were meticulously maintained while we were there and I was thoroughly impressed by their attention to detail. The food was wonderful. We tried many options in town and along the beach while there and it could not compare to the exceptional experience at Villa Caracol. Lastly, great place for families and children of all ages!

There were a couple of days that our beach was crowded to the point where there were not enough lounge chairs for the hotel guests. It would be great to have more available if that were to happen.

A definite must stay if you're visiting Holbox, complete paradise!

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights as part of a larger trip around Mexico for our honeymoon. This was potentially our favourite stop! Our room was absolutely beautiful (we had a junior suite I think with a balcony facing the garden). The hotel itself was so clean and nicely decorated, everything was incredibly comfortable and we were provided with anything and everything we could think of. The location was perfect, out of the main centre so it felt peaceful but not so far that we couldn't walk in for a drink or some food in the evening if we wanted to. The staff were all so helpful and freindly! It was also my birthday whilst we were there and we had a couples massage on our balcony that the hotel organised and it is definitely something I would recommend!! We also made use of the kayaks that the hotel provide and there were a couple of nights live music which was really magical.

The only small, tiny downside was that our room was above the water pump for the hotel. So at random times in the night and early morning it would wake us up when it suddenly started up. We mentioned this to the staff incase there was another room available but understandably everything was booked up. They were very sweet and gave us a bottle of wine as a gift which was unnecessary and very appreciated. After the first night we just made sure we used ear plugs and we got used to the noise and slept through. I think this would only be an issue if you were a light sleeper and had our exact room! It certainly didn't ruin our trip and we had the most amazing time!

Didn’t like it. Hotel is over priced for what they offer, not much shade at the beach.

The included breakfast was good, so bad they restaurant doesn’t opens until 8:00am, our last day we had to leave at 8 so we weren’t able to have our breakfast at the hotel . Before staying in Villas Caracol we stayed at Palapas del Sol, breakfast there starts at 7:00 am and we loved the service, the were super kind. Palapas del Sol also has a great beach location, bigger sand area, no sargasso and their beach Palapas are the best, they cover really well so you don’t get sun burn.

Hotel concept, everything has an extra charge, drinks and food are expensive, and there is not much open area. To many things cramped in a small area. Beach is ok, however the hotel doesn’t have a palapas or a good way to provide shade at the beach. Just some triangular pieces of cloth (?) that don’t cover much, so we couldn’t spend as much time at the beach as we wanted.

great room, great staff, facilities could be better

probably the best hotel room I’ve ever had, beautiful huge room, massive comfy bed, so much room and a bonus 2 story terrace overlooking the pool, Pam trees and ocean :) staff were super helpful and accommodating

For such an expensive hotel I’d assumed there would be sun loungers on the beach. the tide stays in a lot so there is hardly any room for loungers however all the other hotels had decking above the beach for the beds but this hotels decking had fallen apart which looked scruffy and was annoying as no where to sit on the beach. we had to go and pay for some from another hotel further up the beach. as the room was right by the pool and restaurant the music was very loud in the room

We loved it.

The beach is very nice, we had sargaso, but the hotel does everything it can to clean it. So we were mainly in the pool. Rooms very comfortable, food very tasty and the staff very helpful and welcoming.

The staff was relaxed and friendly, yet met our every need.

This is a tough question because the same thing that I disliked was what I loved. I disliked that there was very bad service and Wi-Fi at the hotel. It definitely kept us off of our phones, but something should be available that is better than what we had.
