Adventurous stay with personalized attention

We stayed at this hotel with extended family. The hotel has an exceptional team doing all they can to keep the guests happy. Buddhika, Vijay and the rest of the team did everything they could to arrange the best trips and prepare wonderful dinners for us. Food was sourced from fresh fish markets. The hotel has a very chilled vibe with a beautiful garden and fantastic sea views. Ideal to relax and spend quality time with an extended group of family or friends.

The rooms could benefit from air conditioners to keep the mosquitos at bay. The beach right in front of the hotel was not clean throughout our stay due to reasons outside the control of hotel management (storms, sea currents, etc). However, the world-class Bentota beach is only 10min away by car and the hotel team was very happy to organize transportation for us.

Perfect

Aici am petrecut ultimele doua zile din vacanta noastra in Sri Lanka si nu puteam spera la o incheiere mai buna pentru luna de miere. Pentru noi, Amuura Beach House este cea mai buna cazare pe care am avut-o in Sri Lanka. Nina si Ray sunt super amabili, ne-am simtit ca acasa, ca intr-o familie, pentru ca seara ne adunam in jurul mesei la cina cu totii. Am intalnit oameni minunati aici si am purtat conversatii foarte placute. Mancarea este extraordinara, iar servirea impecabila. Ceilalti membri din staff sunt foarte draguti si mereu foarte prompti la orice cerinta am avut. Gradina foarte bine ingrijita, plaja superba, am prins un apus magic si apoi prin gradina la lasarea intunericului am fost inconjurati de licurici, cu adevarat o experienta care m-a emotionat, parca eram intr-o poveste cu zane. Recomand oricui doreste sa aiba parte de ospitalitate maxima, relaxare si amintiri de neuitat!

Nette Unterkunft, aber Preis-Leistungsverhältnis schwach

Nina und Rainer sind sehr bemüht, es ihren Gästen so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Dabei waren sie sehr aufmerksam und haben uns sogar ungefragt ein Babybett für unseren fast 2jährigen Sohn zur Verfügung gestellt und es mit Luftballons geschmückt. Das Essen (von der Karte) war außerordentlich lecker. Das Zimmer ist recht groß und es war alles sehr sauber und gepflegt.

Wir haben auf unserer Rundreise durch Sri Lanka in 11 Unterkünften übernachtet und haben entsprechend einen Vergleich. Unser Aufenthalt hier war einer der teuersten und aufgrund der durchweg positiven Bewertungen waren unsere Erwartungen hoch. Leider stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis auf die Ausstattung bezogen nicht. Wir haben es zugegebenermaßen überlesen, dass es sich um Gemeinschaftsbäder handelt, bei dem Preis aber auch einfach ein eigenes erwartet. Es besteht kaum Druck auf der Leitung und man kann nur kalt mit Nieselwasser duschen. Das inkludierte Frühstück ist leider nicht a la carte und die zu bezahlenden Speisen waren wesentlich ansprechender. Wer Privatsphäre schätzt, ist hier fehl am Platz. Durch einen umlaufenden Balkon, kann man von allen Seiten ins Zimmer sehen und die Vorhänge sind sehr durchsichtig. Der Pool ist leider nur ein kleines Planschbecken und die umliegenden Strände sind sehr steinig bzw. dreckig. Da die Gegend für uns leider nichts zu bieten hatte (für diese Lage waren uns 100 USD/Nacht für das Deluxe Zimmer mit Meerblick zu teuer), sind wir dann noch einmal nach Hikkaduwa gereist. Dort haben wir uns wesentlich wohler gefühlt, da mehr Angebote wie verschiedene Cafés und ein sauberer Strand zu finden sind.

Das Haus am Meer asiatisch 😎

Wunderschönes kleines Haus in fantastischer Lage, mit unglaublich schönen Details bei der Einrichtung und sehr gutem Service. Wenn Ashan verfügbar ist unbedingt eine Massage buchen. Tolles Frühstück und insgesamt einfach nur wunderschön. Danke

Die Bad- und Toilettenlösung außerhalb des Zimmers hatten wir wahrscheinlich überlesen aber das ist Jammern auf hohem Niveau 😉, warmes Wasser wäre zumindest für längere Haare eine schöne Idee

Für mich war es ein schöner Abschluss meiner Reise.

Das Haus liegt direkt am Meer und ist toll! Die fünf Zimmer sind schlicht und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Gastgeber Nina und Rainer haben dieses Guesthouse erst vor kurzem übernommen und sind sehr sympathisch. Mit ihrem Team geben Sie ihr Bestes, den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm zu gestalten.

Leider war der Pool nicht benutzbar, was vorher nicht kommuniziert wurde. Das war erstmal enttäuschend. Durch die Regenzeit waren im November viele Mücken vorhanden.

Wunderschön, herzlich, erholsam, paradiesisch!

Es war mein erste Halt auf meiner Reise und ich hätte mir keiner besseren, einfacheren Start vorstellen können. Nina und Ray führen das Hotel mit ganz viel Herzblut und stehen einem rund um die Uhr zur Verfügung, mit vielen Tipps, netten Unterhaltungen und (auf Wunsch) gemeinsamen Abendessen - das war großartig! Inkl. Shutteservice vom Airport, den ich gern in Anspruch genommen habe. Das war wirklich unkompliziert! Das Hotel, die Anlage und das Chillen direkt am Beach waren einfach traumhaft. Ich habe es sehr genossen und kann es nur jedem wärmsten empfehlen- es ist alles sehr nahbar, wunderschön und freundschaftlich!

Ich habe nichts zu bemängeln !!

A peace of heaven at the seaside

We stayed at Amuura for our last days in Sri Lanka and couldn’t have had a better final destination. Amuura is a hidden paradise at a place where you might not expect it. The villa, garden and the beach - everything is perfect for a couple of relaxing days. The owners of the house did a really good job with the layout and looks of the house - it was one of the most stylish accommodations we stayed in Sri Lanka. We felt right at home thanks to caring Nina, Rainer and their team. No matter what question we had, they were extremely friendly and helpful and supported us with organizing a couple of things. Due to the many nice hangout areas it is also a superb place to connect with fellow travelers - we were extremely lucky and were a wonderful group of people there during ihr stay. But also if you want to be on your own that is easily possible. I‘ll miss this place for sure and can only recommend it 100%.

Great Family, great house and location

Lovely house and garden situated right on the beach. The friendly German family grow much of the delicious food they serve in their own permaculture garden. Strongly recommended!

A truely unique experiance in a tropical paradise.

Amuura Beach House is a stunningly beautiful individual property, decorated and furnished by local craftsmen to a very high estandard. There were several different seating areas available, both inside and outside on the terrace. The gardens were tranquil and secluded with choices of sitting or lounging in both sun and shade. The garden has direct access to the beach and ocean. Beds were extremely comfortable. Although we didn’t eat lunch, we enjoyed dinners on 4 nights which were to a very high standard and variety, albeit fish and/or veggie. Taking meals is recommended as the property is quite isolated. Tea/coffee/ juices etc with home made cake was availble at any time of the day. Requests were dealt with speedily, efficiently and with good humour by the owners who manage and run the house.

It is imperative that the owners of Amuura Beach House clearly state on their website that there is only one communal shower area, with three open showers, that are used by all the guests. Also needed to be made clear is that there is only one toilet available for all guests which is an eco-friendly composting one. On our arrival we were surprised, but got used to it quite quickly. The house has no a/c but ceiling fans are in each bedroom. Some rooms were unbearably hot at night, making sleep difficult. Some ‘shaker’ style pegs/hooks are needed in bedrooms.
