Sa Serra Mitjana, Villa, old farmhouse.
Set in the heart of the south/east Mallorcan countryside just outside the quiet village of Calonge' (which has two great restaurants), yet only two miles from the beaches and nightlife of Cala d'Or. Here you will find a haven of peace and tranquillity. Five bedrooms with five ensuite bathrooms,6 with the Apartment which is included. Private swimming pool, magnificent gardens set in 5 acres of private estate. Sweep through the electric gates and up the drive to "Se Serra Mitjana", a lovingly restored, vine covered finca, a 200 year old manor house extensively modernised for todays discriminating traveller. Enter through the old oak rustic double front doors into the large lounge which opens up onto the gardens. TV, DVD, satellite TV are provided, a stereo CD is piped thru the downstairs rooms. The outside dining patio is covered/shaded with a grape vine which hangs heavy with fruit in the summer months. In the grounds you will discover almond and lemond groves, pepper and bay leaf trees and a dovecote.
We have WiFi, central heating and air conditioning in most rooms. We also have our own well, meaning plenty of water when Mallorca is in a drought.
We are just minutes away from the village with it's farmers bars, the bakery, boutique shops and nice restaurants. A big supermarket is on the corner as you enter Cala d'Or.
This South East side of Mallorca abounds in lovely coves and beaches. It is the prettiest part of a beautiful island. The island roads have all been upgraded and are wonderful for driving or cycling on. Please note the lovingly restored brick walls along the roads and fields which have all been hand built by the farmers or craftsmen. Each stone hand laid, very labour intensive.
All our bedrooms have their own bathrooms.
We have 5 bedrooms in the Main House and a separate apartment adjoining the house which has it’s own front patio and entrance.
This can open up to the Terrace and BBQ area and gardens. It has a Living Room with kitchen included. This room has two settees, tv and dining table. There are chairs outside on the Patio. The bedroom is air conditioned and has a double bed with bedside wall lamps, hanging locker and a large chest of drawers. A nice shower and wc adjoins the room.
Cala d’Or Marina is at the bottom of our lane, about a mile away. Wonderful restaurants encircle the harbour along with nice bars and the Yacht Club. You do not have to be a Member to go in for a drink on the Terrace or enjoy lunch or dinner there. Restaurant Botavara is highly recommended for Sea Food and Mallorcan meat dishes of lamb shoulder or roast suckling pig.
One of the best restaurants this side of the island, is right in our local village of Calonge called Bona Taula (Good Table).
It is just up our lane, across from the church, the doorway next to Bar Telefono.
Unpretentious, you go through the bar and out into the garden of Tomeu’s mother’s old house for a wonderful dinner, cooked by local ladies or Javier on the wood burning grill. Roast half duck, peppered and served with pear and baked potatoes and a grilled tomato is my favorite. Suckling Pig is the best as is Duck Breast or Half Rabbit from the Grill.

The perfect place for a family with kids and Grandchildren. Close to Cala d‘Or and other nice places. Close to a couple beaches. The property is huge. The garden is wonderful and the pool is great for swimming and chilling.
The rooms are big and the badrooms are mostly new done. The kitchen is a little old, but has everything you need. It has a big fridge and freezer.

We had a wonderful week with 3 generations of family to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. The farmhouse was very comfortable and location was perfect. We were very grateful for the aircon as the temperature got up to 37 degrees. However the white plastic garden furniture is in urgent need of replacement several dining chairs were broken and some sun loungers were lethal one collapsed as my 3 month pregnant daughter in law lay on it. The dishwasher was on its last legs. I understand that somewhere that accommodates 12 people is going to have a lot of wear and tear but these faults need to be addressed before someone gets hurt. I mentioned it to Marionella and she said she must do something about it. That said we had a fabulous holiday.

A fabulous pool, large and well-equipped kitchen (plus a second fridge and chest freezer in the utility room); comfortable bedrooms all with en-suites and a handy self-contained yet integrated annex.
Location is nice and quiet, only a few minutes from the local town of Calonge and a 7-min drive to Cala D’Or.
Clean, well-maintained and homely, it was a brilliant place for our large, 3-generation family holiday - we had a wonderful time.

Was on holiday with my children and granchildren from age 1 to 65. We have never had such a wonderful holiday. This villa has absoloutely beautiful gardens and between that and the pool it made our holiday. We hardly ever went jnto Cala dor or the beach as none of us wanted to leave the gardens. I would reccomend this place and hopefully we will be able to return next year.

We had a wonderful time! We celebrated our 40 years wedding anniversary with our kids and two grandchilds.
The house has a lot of space and has everything you need! the garden is really breathtaking. Swimming pool was also clean and nice. The only thing we would recommend is to change the mattresses and to stabilize the beds. Especially the one in the appartement.
Another negative point was the presence of cockroaches!
The beach and village are nice; you do need a car. It is too far to walk.
We invited a personal cook and had a wine tasting in the beautiful garden!

Recommend for big groups
After two years trying we finally get the trip and visited this beautiful villa. The house is lovely and there is enough place for 13 people. Location is also great so you can walk to the village Calonge and you have plenty of restaurants and activities in Cala d'or. Although we had a very nice week in Se Serra Mitjana we have a few complains: the pool wasn't clean when we arrived but it was cleaned after we mentioned it. Also the air conditioning didn't work in every room. Because the villa is old and at the country side you have to accept the ants and the mouses. The weirdest thing was that even we kept the gate and the doors closed someone outsider visited in the house and steals from us new clothes, hats, backpack and other little belongings. We reported the burglar to the police/ civil guardia. Otherwise we had a really good time.

Peaceful haven
We all made good use of the lovely pool and enjoyed the beautiful gardens. It was so peaceful at all times. The house was well equipped with constant hot water, towels and plenty of space. It was sad to leave ☹️

A wonderful home from home
This ancient farmhouse is a wonderful place to stay. It has the charm you only get when a place has been with the same people for a long time. Rooms are cosy and the garden is splendid. Being just a short drive from great restaurants and beautiful beaches is another bonus. Some bedrooms are on the ground floor make it accessible for wheelchair users.

Lovely holiday in the old farmhouse
Our family spent 3 lovely weeks here. It is a beautiful well-maintained place. We really enjoyed the pool, the great barbecue and the spacious garden. Nearby is a small village with a very nice restaurant where we hade some wonderful family dinners.

Perfect family birthday celebration week
It’s a wonderful property and exceeds all expectations, which are already set high from the website pictures. The garden is exceptionally beautiful and well taken care of. We had a week of sitting around the big outdoor table shaded by vines, BBQs galore and lazing around the lovely pool. It’s in a remote, quite setting but actually very close to the town and coast. Although once you arrive you don’t want to leave! Thank you for making our holiday so special. It worked from the ages of 6 to 80 and a lot in between. Very happy days.

Great vacation in this house
We went 3 families together (6 adults and 7 children) and this house was great for a week in Cala D’or. The pool area and the terrace (were we had all our meals) were simply perfect for our group. We loved it. Really nice quit area and garden. Indoor seem a little dark and equipped with many furnitures, but the bedrooms are simple and really nice. The house is very well equipped with towells, everything you need in the kitchen, parasols and play-things for the beach etc. A car is needed to get around as the villa is in the middle of a small road between Calonge and Cala D’or.

Large, very charming house with a beautiful property and garden.
We really enjoyed our vacation. We stayed as a family in three generations and the house was absolutely perfect. It is very spacious with en suite bathrooms to each bedroom. Extremely well equipped and we also enjoyed the pool and large garden. The surroundings are beautiful with sheep and horses and the small village of Calonge within walking distance. Cala d Or with beaches, restaurants and supermarkets are just a short drive away. The house felt like a true home and both the owner and the manager were so pleasant. Thank you so much for having us!

We stayed for a family holiday with grandparents and young adult children in their 20's. The villa was beautiful. Incredibly spacious with wonderful ensuite bathrooms. It had everything we could want and we all said it was one of the best if the best house we had stayed in. We particularly loved the peaceful surroundings yet it was close to Cala D'or and some great restaurants. All only 5 to 10 mins drive or a cheap taxi ride.
The pool was beautiful and being set away from the house a little it meant you could easily escape and have it to yourself! We all enjoyed the table tennis and eating out under the vines. The farmhouse was extremely well equipped and we catered without any trouble for the 9 of us and had a very tasty BBQ one night.
The house was immaculate and clean and the caretakers also came midweek during our stay.
I don't think I have ever been anywhere so calm when there are 9 of you. It was perfect for finding your own space yet great for big family meals all together.
My mother was so sad to leave she cried and is determined to get back there one day!

Stunning Property
This is THE perfect place to vacation with a group of friends or family. The clean house is large and cool and very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms and a world class BBQ. The garden and pool area offer plenty of places to relax in and wandering around the huge immaculately maintained english lawn with bare feet brings an enormous child like pleasure.
Set amidst rolling farmlands, the ambience is peaceful with the odd tink tonk of the sheep bells and the estate is very private and secure.
There is a good grocery store nearby and with the delightful town of Cala D'Or less than 10 minutes drive away there are plenty of great options for eating out. Although I personally would rather stay at home cooking magnificent meals and dining under the grape arbor on the beautiful terrace.
Geographically, the estate is located in a beautiful part of Mallorca and there are also plenty of beaches to visit an easy drive away.
Highly recommended - so much so that I hope to return again with my family next year!

We Love Se Serra Mitjana
We have stayed at this lovely farmhouse many times. There is a reason that we keep returning... it is a real home. You can feel it. The home is loved for its comfort and cherished for its old world charm. It has been updated but it has not lost its character. It is not stuffy or formal or sterile or void of personality like some other places we've stayed. The magic begins as you drive down the narrow lane to the house. You pass many old farms and other pretty villas along the way. The entrance to Se Serra Mitjana can sneak up on you but the entrance is a beautiful wrought iron electric gate built into nice stone walls. The long driveway is beautifully bordered by more stone walls and gorgeous flowering vegetation. The house itself is quite grand as you approach it. It is, artistically by chance, festooned with clinging, ivy-like greenery with orange trumpet shaped flowers. Most impressive! The grounds are amazing too with the unexpected vast lawns of green and abundant flowering shrubbery everywhere. The pool is very private surrounded by hedges and stone walls. Perfect for a refreshing morning dip or late night escape. The home has 5 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Most bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms are to die for! We love that there is air conditioning in the bedrooms when desired but most nights I do not even think that it is needed. One of my favorite things about staying here is what I call, "The sounds of Mallorca at night." I just love listening to the distant, gentle bleating of sheep mixed with the sweet cooing of doves. It is such a peaceful relaxing sound. Along with the soft breezes gently pushing through the open windows, it puts me to sleep right away. Magical. There is also a very nicely equipped casita with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge. Perfect for guests that might need a bit more privacy. The house is very well equipped for entertaining large crowds for dinner parties. With an abundance of pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, glasses and a welcome dishwasher! There is a terrific BBQ that we have used many times to prepare delicious, succulent meats of all kinds. We have spent many magical evenings under the grape vines drinking and dining till the wee hours. You can tell that the owners have pride of ownership. It is warm, inviting and very clean. It's so nice that they allow others to enjoy the magic of Se Serra Mitjana by sharing it. We truly love this place and will continue to visit! Thank you!

The location and the vibe of this amazing historical house is unbeatable. Just minutes away is the world class marina Cala D'or with enough to keep your family busy all week. I most enjoyed lounging around the pool, hanging around in the beautiful gardens and playing table tennis under the grapes. The family meals and stories shared outside are memories to last forever. It is not easy to put into words what a beautiful place this is.
The house is in a great location, on a quiet lane near a small village but still not that far away from Cala D'or with its beaches restauarants and nightlife.
It is obvious that much love, time and effort has be spent making this house into what it is,wonderful.
The whole house is spacious, clean, and comfortable with all its old traditional features retained, this is old Mallorca. The front door is amazing.
Modern bathrooms have been fitted but they blend in with the
old so you have the best of both worlds.
The large table under the grapevine is just right for the whole family to eat Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Nice cool shade. Close by is a large BBQ great to gather around whilst the Fish or meat is being cooked.
The pool area is big enough for everyone to sit together again there is shade available. Plenty of chairs and sunbeds available.
The gardens are kept beautifully, with lots of sunbeds, chairs and small tables scattered about, so many lovely places to relax.
Everything you need to have a great holiday has been provided, the owners obviously want visitors to enjoy their house as much as possible. Information about Mallorca is placed in the lounge, giving you good ideas on things to do.
Morag looks after the house and she was really helpful whilst we were there, booking a local restaurant for us.
All in all the12 of us had a holiday to remember, we plan to be back as soon as possible and I would recommend a stay at the Old farm House to anyone.

Pretty much perfect
We were an extended family of 11 ages ranging from 9 year old twins through teenagers to my mother who is 78. The house catered for everyone. The accommodation is flexible, beautifully maintained, the pool perfect and the garden spacious and pretty. Multiple beaches are nearby, the local village has a wonderful restaurant and the nearest "happening" town - Cala d'or is in walking/bicycling distance for our teenagers who had many a happy evening out. We highly recommend Se Serra Mitjana and will be returning ourselves!

Beautiful villa suitable for large family groups
My family stayed here for a blissful week. We had great customer service from the owner John and the house manager Morag. The villa is beautiful and the large gardens are just lovely. Location - wise it is very peaceful - probably a 20 minute walk up to the nearest village, but close enough to Cala D'or for restaurants, shopping etc. Everything about the villa was first class and it has a lovely feel to it. We couldn't fault it in any way. We definitely hope to return !
