I can’t say enough about the property and the owners. We have never been to a rental property that that was as clean, organized and well appointed as this. It’s a beautiful house, located on a large private lot in a quiet neighborhood. Great balconies to see the sun rise with your morning coffee. Great restaurants within easy walking or biking distance.
The owners were fabulous. Easy to reach and very responsive. From our interactions they were the type of people that could be friends or neighbors.
If we ever decide to come back to the Keys this spot would be at the top of list.

Key Largo-Paradise
This property is awesome & is in a perfect spot. A beautiful view of the water & just lovely inside & out. Plenty of room in the house and around the property. A must we found was kayaks & rented some-we went kayaking daily & saw the sights (manatees were very exciting to see). We also enjoyed the hot tub, which was quite relaxing during our stay. Maria was very nice & quick to respond if we had questions-a great host! I definitely recommend this property to others & we hope to come back!

Month in Key Largo
We really enjoyed our stay in Key Largo for the month of January. The house itself is elevated above a patio/parking. Upon entering the house, there is a hallway that divided the two sides of the house. One area has the master bedroom, master bathroom, den, second bedroom and a hallway bathroom. The master bed and bath are quite large. The master has a king bed, a good-sized walk-in closet and patio doors that lead to the balcony. The master bath has a large tub and a separate shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The bathroom is across the hallway. The den has a twin trundle bed. This area does not close off with a door. The main area of the house has the kitchen, living room area, dining area, and the second master bedroom. This second master is just off the kitchen and has its own bathroom and a queen bed. The house was well-equipped, and the appliances worked well. It has a big open living room/dining room area. The couches are new and were comfortable, and the TV set was large and worked well. The table in the dining area has seating for at least 6. The kitchen had a peninsula with 4 chairs available. This was a working vacation for my husband, so he set up his work area in the living room with a view of the balcony and water. The internet was spotty at times, but he was still able to make it work. The view from the large balcony was outstanding. The view is of the water, mangroves, and the edge of John Pennekamp State Park. The balcony off the living area had many chairs and a table to sit and enjoy the water view. The master bedroom also had a TV and a balcony. The queen bedroom also had a small TV and a balcony. The second master did not have a TV but had its own balcony also. The place does not have a garage, but the parking is covered. The laundry room is in the kitchen area. The house has a hot tub on the lower level along with comfortable seating for many. The backyard area is not sand but covered with a course gravel. We saw many spectacular sunrises at the house and sunsets at various places on the other side of the key. We had a couple of small issues that were dealt with in a satisfactory manner. The owners were very nice to work with and genuinely wanted us to have a great time at their house. It was close to many interesting areas, state parks, restaurants, and bars. The Key Largo area is beautiful, clean, and safe. We would recommend this rental for couples or families.

Wonderful month in the Key Largo
The house was in a great location for everything we wanted to do on land and water. The peaceful setting of the large lot was beautiful and allowed plenty of room for privacy. The landscaping of mature plants made it feel like our own private resort. The house and property was supplied with everything to meet our needs. We were more than comfortable during our month there. We hope to return next year! Thank you for sharing your perfect Keys getaway!

Paradise!
Leo and Maria were amazing - extremely accommodating and responsive. The house is spectacular. The views, the kayaking access, the outdoor space and the home in totality was awesome. We didn’t need or want for anything- it was perfect. We would not have changed a thing, and can’t wait to go back.

A Month in Paradise.
We had a wonderful stay at this home! We live in Miami and needed a break, boy did this home and location deliver. From the moment we pulled up to the property we could tell that it was special. Our family, an adult daughter and adult son with his wife and baby, found all the room and space we needed to unwind and relax. The bedrooms are spacious and we’ll appointed. (The forth bedroom is more of an alcove with a day-bed, great for kids.) The three bathrooms are large and spacious. The common living area and kitchen are large and open, great for family gatherings. My favorite spot was outside on the second story balcony, beautiful view! A dock with ample space for our boat and a nice hot tub for relaxing after a day out on the boat are also included. We hope to be back next year, thank you Leo and Maria!

Relaxing at LaPaloma!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing month at this beautiful home. The back porch was a peaceful place to enjoy the morning sun with our coffee.
The home is quite large, offering plenty of space for the guests who joined us during the stay. The kitchen was great to cook in! It was equipped with every appliance and utensil a cook would need.
Our hosts, Leo and Maria, were very nice to work with, as well as accommodating and attentive. Maria offered suggestions for local attractions and even provided a complimentary pass to the state parks.
We hope to have an opportunity to return to this island paradise home in the future! Thank you Leo and Maria for sharing your little piece of paradise!

Paradise in Key Largo
My family and I stayed at this beautiful house in Key Largo and it could not have been better. Leo and Maria were excellent to work with. The house is exactly as the pictures. We loved that we were able to drive up to our boat to load supplies. Kayaking from the property was amazing. We can't wait to return to Key Largo!

Even better than the pictures show!
Our family (6 adults and 2 kids ages 6 and 2) stayed for a long weekend in the Keys. We were a bit nervous going so shortly after Irma, but the home and property were in great shape. It is private and secluded with a waterfront view just as the pictures show. Great local places to eats. Swam with the dolphins and visited the state park which were both less than 5 minutes away. Maria was great to deal with and I would reccomend this home to anyone looking to get away.

Beautiful waterfront home!
This home has spectacular views. It is spacious and very comfortable. It is well maintained and very clean. I particularly loved the kitchen. It is fully stocked with all the items needed to cook a family meal. We loved the peace and serenity that this luxurious home offers. We enjoyed using the hot tub after a day of fishing.
My husband and son spent much of their time fishing off the dock.
The owners were friendly and easy to reach. We have already planned our next trip to this wonderful Key Largo home.

Excellent Home With Direct Water Access and Near Pennenkamp State Park!
We have been spending 6 to 8 weeks in the Keys each winter for last 5 years. Previous years we owned a motorhome so we stayed in RV Resorts/Parks in the Keys but this year we tried something different. We stayed in Leo and Maria's home in Key Largo from mid January to Mid March - what a great place! The home is directly on the water and across from Pennenkamp State park. The home is well kept with a recently remodeled kitchen and new appliances. Nice views of the water and great patio area on the lower floor with a hot tub/spa.
We were used to moving every few weeks in the motorhome so we were somewhat concerned about staying "entertained" for two months in one location. Not a problem! Key Largo is only a short distance from the Everglades, Miami, Biscayne National Park and the remainder of the Keys. Key West is possible in a day and we drove down just to visit and wander the streets. We rented Kayaks for the duration of our stay and were on the water three or four times a week depending on the weather. This is a great location for water activities since the home has a launch ramp and boat dock. It took longer to apply sunscreen than it did to get the Kayaks in the water. Only a short paddle and we were in Pennenkamp Kayak trails. In addition there is always some organized activity in the keys each weekend,, Seafood festivals, Nautical Flea Markets, Food Fests, Biking, etc.
The home is within walking distance of Pennenkamp so we walked into the park many times as well as walked to many of the excellent restaurants nearby. All in all we had a great time and will do it again if we have the chance!
PS: Refund check for our deposit actually beat us home!!

Spacious and Private
We have been coming to Key Largo area for over 25 years and have experienced many different accommodations from townhomes, condos and various private homes. This property is the best that we have stayed. The house is very spacious and has been accessorized very nicely. The beds are very comfortable not like some that have seen their tired days. The kitchen is well equipped and has all of the necessary utilities. We liked having the separate ice maker. If you want privacy this place has it all. It is very spacious outside and there is minimal boat traffic. Tremendous views of the mangroves. The outside downstairs provided great space to gather with friends and family who visited us during our stay for the month of February. Plenty of space to park cars for the guests also. The grandkids loved the hot tub.The owners were very responsive and it was really nice to receive our security deposit in a couple of weeks after the rental....not like some other properties. Highly recommend Villa La Paloma for all seeking privacy with great accommodations. We will be back

Paradise Found
I have been fortunate to stay at this property. The interior is light, clean and airy. I especially enjoy the ever changing view to the east, over the water and mangroves as the sun comes up. What a great start to any day! So peaceful/calm and get exciting. Sunsets are grand also. Our grandchildren have accompanied us. There are magnificent beaches nearby. There is snorkeling, diving, fishing, canoeing and kayaking nearby or, comma one can simply just relax in this elegantly appointed home and I should mention that John Pennekamp State Park is nearby, as well as a multitude of fine restaurants serving food found only in this area. To sums things up, there is a plaque to the right of the main door as you leave: it simply says "Paradise Found". If you are fortunate enough to go to this property, you are, guaranteed to find Paradise.

Wonderful
Absolutely beautiful home, the views are breath taking and the location is excellent. Close to local restaurants, stores, and markets. Water front property great for fishing, boating and all types of water activities. Just a few minuets away from John Pennekamp National State Park; accessible by water or land. Perfect place to get away and relax. Every room has a view and balcony, great sitting area outside with jacuzzi and BBQ. Our stay was incredible, definitely coming back for our next vacation.

Villa La Paloma
My husband and I, our daughter and her two children aged 7 and 9, and my other daughter, her husband and their 11 month old baby stayed at this home during our recent visit to Key Largo. The house is magnificent and is perfect for a large family. There are large French doors in all the rooms with fantastic views of the canal and the water. There was plenty of room for everyone so that we were not constantly bumping into each other. My grandson was up at dawn every day fishing or looking for Florida wildlife, which he saw plenty of around the property. While in Key Largo we enjoyed an air boat ride, para-sailing, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, the water park and of course the wonderful restaurants, all within a few minutes drive. Needless to say, we had a wonderful week and I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to rent a place in Key Largo. I must also mention that our securing deposit was promptly returned.

Great Key Largo Vacation Home
The Villa La Paloma house was a wonderful home and we truly enjoyed our stay and being in Key Largo. With Everglades NP, Biscayne NP, Miami and Key West all within a short drive we found Key Largo very central to many places that were easy to explore. We did pay for a modestly priced hotel when we went to Key West so we didn’t have to drive there and back in the same day.
Although we did a great deal of exploring, we also spent a lot of our time just relaxing at the house and enjoying the view. The owners take great pride in their home; the house is very clean and well kept. All the pictures represent the house well and the view out the back is truly spectacular--the pictures don’t do it justice. We rented kayaks from Florida Bay Outfitters, as recommended by another reviewer. They delivered them to the house and we enjoyed kayaking through the “neighborhood” and nearby state park. We cooked many meals in the well-stocked kitchen; though do recommend both locations of Mrs. Mac’s Kitchen (original at mile marker 99.4 and second at MM 99) for a good meal.
Surprising to us was the Keys don’t have much for white sandy, Caribbean beaches. However, we found a great one at Bahia Honda State Park (MM 37).
Although we highly recommend the home, to write a genuine review we wanted to share a few items. Be sure to read your paperwork carefully and check the dates in all the written materials. This didn’t ever become an issue, but much of our paperwork and follow up emails needed to be corrected. The homeowner’s very large boat is stored in the backyard. The view is so impressive it would have been nice if the boat was stored on the side of the house or at a storage lot. There was very little for cleaning supplies; we had to ration our dishwasher tablets across 9 days and purchase laundry detergent to freshen our bath towels.
We look forward to staying here again when in Key Largo.

Perfect For A Corporate Retreat
I booked Leo and Maria's home for a corporate planning retreat for me and my three business partners. Having booked homes all over the US for similar purposes, and I have to say, this one was the best by far! The home is clean, well appointed, and offers numerous "conversation areas" that really lend themselves to informal discussions. Plus, the location is unbeatable! After all, how better to start the day than by watching the sunrise over the Keys?
Leo and Maria were extremely easy to work with and were genuinely interested in making sure that we enjoyed their beautiful home. I will definitely book again and wholeheartedly recommend this villa for both corporate retreats as well as vacations.

Great time at Villa la Paloma
We were two families from Europe (4 adults and 3 kids) and spent a fantastic time in this villa. We loved everything and especially the cleanliless/tidiness (great - especially for US standards!). If there is one small less positive thing to say is just, that the kids were missing a swimming-pool.

Perfect vacation home
My family of 5 and our dog spent a wonderful week at Maria and Leo's home. This house could not have been more perfect for us. I planned the vacation so when the rest of our party arrived, they could not believe this was the house. We joked all week long that we were rich!
The bedroom were spacious and very comfortable. The views from every angle are spectacular. We have never felt more at home while on vacation. Everything in the house was in great condition and exactly as pictured.
Maria was completely wonderful to deal with in all aspects and very accommodating. I would recommend this home to anyone and everyone I know. If we return to Key Largo, I know I will be trying to book this home for our vacation.
This house is also at the perfect location. It seemed everytime we were heading somewhere, we were only a couple of miles away. John Pennekamp State Park is just up the road. Dolphin's Cove was barely down the road. The Publix and Kmart are conveniently located and the house is fully equipped for any cooking you may want to do.
Thank you so much to Maria and Leo for opening their beautiful home to us!

Our Keys Vacation
We stayed at this fabulous house the week of July 7th. I arrived Saturday into Miami with my wife, 3 kids – ages, 23, 18, and 12 and my two daughter’s boyfriends. Since check-in time was not until 4pm, we decided to hit Jungle Island – a cool parrot and other exotic animal park located near the cruise ship docks in downtown Miami. We stopped on the way down to the house for a late lunch at Alabama Jacks – located on Card Sound Road – an alternative route into the keys. Highly recommend this place!
We arrived at the house only to be blown away by its size. It is a lot bigger in person! We explored the tropical grounds, dock, and then the house to scope out what we needed for our week’s stay. We then hit Kmart and Publix for provisions. The house is well stocked in terms of appliances, towels, beach chairs and such. But we needed napkins, coffee, milk, sugar, food for the week, etc. I took the propane canister with me to exchange for a full one as I planned on grilling a lot. First night in - we grilled and sat out on the lower level for dinner. During the week we found we liked the upper level outdoor patio better as the views are awesome. This became our breakfast, lunch and dinner spot, and during the night we sat out and watched the awesome heat lightning firing off in the distance over the Atlantic.
Even though it’s summer in the keys, we found the afternoon sea breeze to be nice and kept the temps moderated during the week. There are ceiling fans everywhere as well. There is plenty of sleeping space for all – and the smaller bedroom was fine for my son and my younger daughter’s boyfriend to sleep. The master bedroom was very nice and very private. I loved the open shower – huge!
As far as activities – There is so much to do. We rented Kayaks for the week from Florida Bay Outfitters. They came and delivered the Kayaks Sunday am and picked them up late am on the Friday before our departure. Easy to launch from the boat ramp. We explored John Pennekamp Park’s Mangrove channels, out into the main park channel. We explored the bay behind the house – looking for Crocs and supposedly mating Nurse Sharks. Saw neither. We fed fish from the dock. There is a baby Barracuda hanging out there – we named him Barry and visited him daily, along with the school of juvenile parrot fish that glided by daily. We took a ½ day snorkel tour out of Pennekamp park. We fed the Tarpon at Robbie’s Marina in Islamorada – An awesome experience

The perfect vacation home
Our extended family stayed in this beautiful home for a week in June. It was everything that we hoped for and more. It is spacious and designed to comfortably accommodate a large group of people. If it’s solitude that you want, you can retreat to one of the three bedrooms with private balconies. At mealtimes or when you want company, there is the large open living area as well as the deck overlooking a small bay surrounded by mangroves. Despite the fact that there were nine of us, it never felt crowded. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need and we cooked almost every night we were there. The boat ramp on the property is not suitable for larger craft, but was perfect for our two kayaks which we used to explore the surrounding mangroves and John Pennekamp State Park. It was easy to launch our 18-ft boat at the park and motor over to Villa La Paloma – a 5 minute ride. We used the boat for daily trips to the reefs and for fishing, both offshore and inshore. There is a feeling in this home that the owners have given considerable thought to the comfort of their guests. Board games, hammocks, a gas grill, a hot tub are all provided. The dock is equipped with a hose, fish cleaning station and a shower. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation and I hope we’ll be able to return some time.
