About this house rental
Three bedroom comfortable cottage with stunning views in SPA town of Luz St Sauveur. Often on the TOUR DE FRANCE route.The cottage is situated high up on the edge of the town with magnificent views of the mountains, town and the valley but only 5 minutes walk from the nearest restaurants and the very attractive old part of the town with the fortified church St Andre, the nearest restaurants, bars, shops and boulangerie and the main square. Ideally situated just 5kms from the NATIONAL PARK for a variety of outdoor activities all the year round. Walking the numerous footpaths, cycling the famous COLS OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE, mountain biking, white water rafting, birdwatching and identifying the beautiful alpine flowers. Or simply just relaxing by a mountain stream with a picnic and soaking up the magnificent scenery. In WINTER there is the largest ski station in the French Pyrenees just 10 minutes up the road at Bareges with 125kms of pistes. The ski station of Luz Ardiden can be reached by navette from the square in Luz, or by car as can the stunningly beautiful Gavarnie. Maison d'Emilie has private off road parking. There is a pretty garden with aromatic shrubs, lots of lavender, roses, honeysuckle and rosemary for dining al fresco or simply relaxing and soaking up the views. There are two wooden tables and ample chairs, parasol's and a BBQ. The front garden has views of the Chateau St Marie which is floodlit at night.There is locked cellier for the safe storage of bikes and ski's private off road parking. The long distance footpath GR10 passes 200m up our road, there are wonderful walks in the area and from the front door whether you want to conquer a peak or just take a gentle stroll to enjoy the beautiful wildflowers, the butterflies, the birds and other wildlife. There is a heated swimming pool in Luz open in the Summer and all year round there is Luzea,the SPA to ease the aching limbs after all the exercise.

Un grand bol d'air
Très bon séjour sous un soleil fantastique. Nous avons pu profiter de l'emplacement de la maison pour de belles randonnées. La maison est pratique et très bien équipée, Parfaite. On a même joué au scrabble.... en anglais!

De chouettes vacances
C’est une maison confortable, qui correspond à l’annonce. La pièce de vie n’est pas grande si on est 6 mais en ce qui nous concerne nous a très bien convenu. Luz Saint Sauveur est un charmant village attachant pour rayonner sur les sites touristiques alentours et faire des activités de montagne.

Un gîte bien situé et très fonctionnel
Le gîte se situe pas très loin du village,
Il est très bien équipé et possède un jardinet bien agréable qui permet de déjeuner face au montagne .
Nous avons apprécié les gestes de bienvenue de la propriétaire , la situation du gîte permet de rayonner sur différents domaines : Gavarnie, Troumouse, pic du midi, Tourmalet ...

Excellent séjour
Charmante maison très fonctionnelle et très bien placée; proche du centre ville, et avec un jardinet très agréable. Nous avons profité des chemins de randonnées alentours, de ceux plus lointain grâce aux cartes et livrets laissés à disposition, des pistes de ski, des thermes de St sauveurs.. parfait !

Die Zeit in Maison d'Emilie war wunderbar. Das Haus bietet alles, was man braucht, in guter Qualität und ist liebevoll eingerichtet mit viel Lesestoff als Anregung. Toller kleiner Garten, super Blick, angenehm nah an Bäckerei und Restaurants. Auch gut: eine sichere Aufbewahrung für die Velos.
Beim Kamin waren wir unsicher, ob er zu benutzen ist, da er nah am Bücherregal steht, zum Glück war es warm während unserer Zeit.
Die Kommunikation mit Monica war exzellent, nochmal danke, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Leuk comfortabel huisje
Leuk huisje, schoon en comfortabel. Voor 4 personen groot genoeg. Leuke tuin en goede schuur om fietsen te stallen. Goede bedden en voldoende spullen in de keuken om zelf te koken. Tegenvaller dat er geen WiFi is in het huis, dat is niet meer van deze tijd. Omgeving is schitterend om te fietsen (hooggebergte) en Luz Saint Saveur een erg leuk en gezellig dorp en uitstekend begin van mooie fietstochten.

Séjour magnifique à la Maison d'Emilie!
Extrêmement confortable, la Maison d'Emilie vous permettra de passer de superbes vacances tout près de la montagne et des services du village. Balades, randonnées, ski, supers restos.. nous nous sommes régalés! Luz est charmant, les stations environnantes sont dynamiques. La maison est fonctionnelle, confortable et le poêle allumé le soir nous a rempli de bonheur ! Monica et Andrew ont été formidables avec leurs instructions et recommandations. Merci! Perfect base to explore & relax
Our group of 5 recently spent a wonderful 2 weeks at this property in Luz. As a cyclist the location could not have been better with numerous iconic climbs within riding distance as well as less well documented ones. For non-cyclists the area has plenty of other activities to pass the time including an open air municipal swimming pool, the Spa is well worth a visit and the Cirque de Gavarnie is also a must.
The town of Luz is also a great base. Plenty of cafes and restaurants, we did not have a bad meal in the time we were there, and also really nice bakers, butchers and small supermarkets for self-catering. The house is located an approx. 10 minute walk from the town centre, downhill on the way, uphill on the way back which has the bonus of burning off the calories taken on board in town!
The house is compact but more than adequate for a family of 5 (three adults and two teenagers in our case) especially when you can spread out into the little garden. The house is well equipped with pretty much everything you need to cater for yourself and the secure storage locker for the bikes is very useful.
Monica and Andrew are fantastic hosts who obviously have a lot of pride in their house and provide loads of local information and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We would highly recommend both this house and the town and plan on returning in the not too distant future.

Perfect base for Cycling, Walking and Skiing
Four of us had a great time here on our cycling Holiday staying early June. The residence is perfectly located for cycling with many famous TDF climbs starting right on your doorstep or just a short hop up the valley.
Maison d’Emilie is located in a quiet location with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. It’s just up from the village centre, but close enough to all local amenities. It is modern, spacious, very comfortable and well equipped with everything you would need, including a lovely log burning stove. There is also a useful bike/ski store.
The owners obviously know the area well and have provided plenty of useful information, guide books and maps to help you get the most from your holiday.
Highly recommended. We would be more than happy to visit again.

Great base for cycling and walking
Our fourth visit to Maison d'Emilie and another great stay. The house continues to meet all our needs, including plenty of bike storage. It is well maintained and equipped and has plenty of local maps and guidebooks to explore the local area. The owner is very helpful and provides excellent advice and customer service.This is a great location for cyclists and walkers and anyone who loves the Mountains. The house is situated at the bottom of the Tourmalet and is so close to many other iconic Tour de France Climbs. There is plenty to do for all the family. We will be return again soon!

Superb holiday cottage
Luz is a perfect base for exploring this wonderful part of the Pyrenees and Maison D'Emilie is perfectly located within Luz. The cottage suited us perfectly and we enjoyed a week of excellent weather and some absolutely stunning walks. The cottage was easy to find (even in the dark) thanks to the excellent instructions (and Google street view!), and it was also clean and and welcoming. The library of maps and walking books was a helpful supplement to our own collection especially the walks log book. Monica also provided lots of helpful information before our visit and we loved being so close to the town for shopping and restaurants. We will definitely return. Many thanks for such a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

Great for a family ski/hiking holiday
We have kept coming back here to Luz many times over the years, attracted by the charming town (easy walk down the hill), and great location to explore a variety of ski areas (Bareges/La Mongie, Gavarnie, Ardiden etc). The cottage is perfect for a family or small group. It is modern, comfortable and warm (excellent wood-burning stove). The thermal bars nearby are excellent and in a spectacular location. In the summer there are superb cycling and hiking opportunities from the doorstep. Highly recommended as a great base for an adventurous holiday!

Superb base for Pyrenean ski trip
I have stayed at the house on several occasions, using it on each occasion as a base for exploring the local ski resorts - primarily Bareges / La Mongie / Tourmalet but also Luz-Ardiden and Gavarnie. It is very well-located, combining easy road access for early mountain starts with convenient proximity via a short stroll to the well-maintained old town with its collection of attractive restaurants and bars. I and the group I travel with have been enticed back by the quality of the house; it is warm, immaculately presented, well-equipped (the woodburner being a particularly popular feature on a cold winter evening) and excellently located. No hesitation in recommending it to others looking for a winter (or indeed summer) break.

Great base for Winter Skiing
Our 5th stay in this house, it comfortably accommodates a family of 5. We use it a base for skiing, well located as only 10 mins drive to the ski slopes. We keep coming back as the Pyrenees' are better value and just as accessible for a young family learning to ski than the Alps. Expect to be back in 2015.

revisiting the pyenees
We had a fantastic stay at chez emilie. The owners have meticulously planned and left information for a perfect stay. It was wonderful to have walks, restaurants and activities suggested and a lot of thought has gone into planning the needs of visitors. The accommodation is cosy, modern and fully functioning with again excellent use of space and really well stocked with equipment and furniture. Luz has everything for families with young children teenagers or older. We used the heated lido in Luz, walked, sampled the baths, ate, relaxed, cooked, cycled and visited Gavarnie, Barege and a lovely couple of valley walks. Would go back again like a shot, and would love to visit in the winter. Highly recommended.

Pyrenenan Paradise
Our third visit to Maison d'Emilie and another great week was had by all our family. The house continues to meet all our needs, including plenty of bike storage - we took 5 bikes! Monica was very generous in allowing us to rent the property in the popular week of the L'etape du Tour (which two of us took part in) and when the Tour proper went through Luz . This is a great location for cyclists and walkers and anyone who loves the Mountains. The house is situated at the bottom of the Tourmalet and is so close to many other iconic Tour de France Climbs. There is plenty to do for all the family and our 11 year old daughter enjoys the market, local swimming pool and parks. We will be return again soon!
